Gary and crew were prompt, had a can do attitude about everything , were friendly and professional. I highly recommend this company. Though we only did countertops and sink, it really made a huge difference. I'm very pleased with Gary and his crew.

We are so pleased with Chatham Construction Company's work in making our kitchen dreams come true! They helped us replace our backsplash, and we are thrilled with the end result. The crew was communicative, kind, kept a clean work area, and provided a quality product! We will definitely use CCC again for our next house project! Thank you!

Do not call Chatham Construction out of Pittsboro, NC owner Gary Smith. it was a horrible experience. This is a very in-depth story, so here are the highlights. I learned about this company through Mr. Smith's wife who worked at the tile company where I purchased my backsplash material. After meeting him, hearing him talk about being a Christian, I decided to let his company do all the work, which I had already sourced a company to paint the cabinets, install the backsplash and remove a piece of molding over the sink and cut it down to frame out two cabinets. This came to a little over $6,000. Mr. Smith gave me a quote for about the same amount. Well, his workers destroyed my solid wood panels, and Mr. Smith tried to gaslight me by saying the cabinets were already old and broken. Not true. originally I had selected another company. they made a video, took pictures and numbered and inspected each panel. I was told those were good, solid wood cabinets, just old and tired looking due to the stain fading, thus they just needed to be painted. The first day the workers came, I wasn't home, but I could see them on the camera. I could tell by the way they threw the panels in the back of the truck, those were not mindful workers. When I got home, they had done some sanding, but did not put up plastic to keep sawdust from going throughout the house, nor did they put down plastic to protect my kitchen floors. I knew then I needed to be there whenever they were there, which that did not matter or keep them from doing horrible work. The second day they came back, of course I was there, and I was working and looked up and here came Robert with the cabinet panels. First of all, they hadn't finished scrapping the boxes nor had they painted them, so why bring in the cabinet doors to be reinstalled. This is when things turned bad really quickly. Robert called Mr. Smith who arrived 45 minutes later, thus began to gaslight me by saying the cabinets were already ruined when they took them out of my home, not true as stated above. I was so upset, I nearly fainted. The issues with this project just go on and on. At this point he said he wouldn't charge me for the paint job, but the only two options were to pay another $1800 to have my wood panels rebuilt, or purchase mdf flat panels. I was so upset, he said he wouldn't charge me, in the long run he gaslighted another 1,574.00 from me to purchase the mdf panels, which weren't painted well either, and that I pointed out to him later. Not only were there issues with the cabinets, the backsplash wasn't installed very well, they wouldn't use painter's tape, so I had to pay another company $700 to scrap paint off the floor, the walls and appliances. I took pictures and sent them to Mr. Smith, yet he still continued to gaslight me into tears, as though all the issues were my fault. I asked him to please refund me the $1,574 that he gaslighted from me, but he said he lost money on this deal and was not going to do that. Well it wasn't my fault he has incompetent workers. I didn't even ask to be reimbursed for the $700. He is arrogant, and thinks he can get by taking the cheap, crappy way out. Bottom line, there were so many issues, I can't even list them all in this review. I was hoping it was going to be an easy and pleasant experience, as at first I really liked Mr. Smith, but I learned very quickly he's a fast talking and pompous person, at least that was my experience. Shop around and find a company that has experienced and competent workers. Just don't call Chatham Construction out of Pittsboro, NC.
