Do Not Use these people. Charlies plumbing has now merged with Max Air and Plumbing. I had a faucet handle that broke. Simple fix no drilling in the wall, no taking out plumbing nothing just putting on the handle with a little screw. He charged me $400. He called it miscellaneous plumbing. This is not a good company please do not use them. Charlies and Max Air are both the same company.

Charlie's used to be fair and reputable. No more! Called them to replace toilet valve. Two guys showed up in Max Air uniforms. Told me Charlie's was bought out by them. Then proceeded to tell me there would be a $90 diagnostic charge even though I told them exactly what I needed done. In addition I was NOT told about this up front. Then gave me an estimate for $370.00!!!! I told them I wasn't paying that or their $90 fee. I called the lady I made the appointment with and she agreed to waive the fee. The worker wouldn't accept that and called someone else. I said no....I was done and for them to get off my property. He then try's to tell me the would do it for $260.00.....by then I'm boiling mad, not to mention that is outrageous for what I needed done. They finally left. Do not use....high prices, dishonest (didn't disclose fee up front), and high pressure trying to sell a zero contract. Will never use again. Terrible experience !!!

I have used Charlie's on several occasions. I always ask for Josh and wait until he is available. I have been pleased with the work that they have completed. They have done the plumbing for my bathroom (2) remodels, installed 2 gas hot water heaters and updated plumbing throughout my home. I feel that they have always done an excellent job at a fair price. I highly recommend Josh and have referred him to help family and friends on several occasions.

We had a minor problem, and I knew what it was, but because I was afraid to touch something I didn't know about I called the plumber. When he came he was not very nice, automatically assumed we had a major leak problem when I told him I knew what it was, I just needed it fixed. It took him 5 minutes, used my parts that I already had bought, and charged me $140. He could have said, like my old plumber would have done, "Hey, you don't need me, just do this and it will be fine." Instead, he ripped me off. I would have paid a trip charge, but a whole hours charge for nothing?!!!!! I know everybody needs to make a living, but they won't get my business again, and they will not get a recommendation from me, so in the end, they have lost money.

I wanted to like Charlie's Plumbing but unfortunately my experience wasn't as positive as other people's experience. Based on Angie's List reviews, and the recommendation of a friend I chose Charlie's Plumbing to install a hot water recirculating pump in my house and to look at my hot water heater to determine if it should be replaced.
First the good: I get hot water in my bathroom much faster than I did previously. The equipment was installed correctly.
Now the not so good: I talked to Josh (Master Plumber) before hiring Charlie's Plumbing. I confirmed the price of the pump and compared the price to the same pump on Amazon. Charlie's was a little higher but I was happy to pay the extra to support a local company. The entire cost was to be $500 (parts and labor). The pump ran around $300.00. This means that labor is about $200.00. Charlie's normal labor rate is $150.00/hour. But the guy who installed the pump was in and out in about 30 minutes. This means I paid a whopping $400.00/hour of labor. In addition, I was originally told that I could have an additional crossover pipe installed in my kitchen to get hot water to the kitchen more quickly. I would only have to pay for the additional pipe. After completing the install, the installer, Johnny, checked the kitchen and declared it to be okay and it didn't need the additional crossover pipe. I have been monitoring it in the last few days and determined that the water does NOT actually get hot faster in the kitchen. I called Charlie's Plumbing to discuss with them. They said that after I talked to Josh, they talked to Leon the other Master Plumber (and owner I think) and he said that the additional crossover wouldn't work. In fact, it would render the pump useless. Johnny never conveyed that message to me but rather chose to deceive me into thinking the water temperature was improved. When I asked about the hot water heater, he asked how old it was. I told him it was about 16 years old. He said (without even looking at it) you need a new hot water heater. He never did an inspection of it. I called and spoke to Stephanie. She was the one who informed me about the additional cross-over pipe rendering the re-circulation pump ineffective. She also apologized that Johnny didn't convey the message to me about it. However she did not see a problem with the effective labor rate of $400.00/hour.
Summary: I appreciate that Stephanie apologized. But that doesn't change the fact that the installer lied to me and also cut corners (didn't inspect the hot water heater) so that he could get out of my house as fast as possible (making an effective labor rate of $400.00/hour). No, I would not use this company again.

I've used this company for many plumbing jobs. Can't say enough good things about them. They are all so nice and do a great job. They always leave everything is good order before they leave which I really appreciate. They fixed a compromised drain under the slab which was a really big job! I feel they are always honest and fair. I recommend them very highly!

These guys are great, had a Hot water Slab Leak and thought it was good to cost thousands. The Slab Leak crew came in located the spot, jack hammered a small foot and 1/2 squared hole and the pipe with the leak was dead center. Silver soldered the leak then we waited for the city inspector, which took all day, not Charlie's Plumbing fault. once green tagged they wrapped the pipe in insulation packed sand around the pipe and concreted the hole.
Couldn't ask for better crew, friendly, fast, and clean
