My heater just stopped coming on in the middle of a cold snap! I called around.. no one could ""come out"" for two days except for Charlie's. They were there within hours, no problem. The worker was pleasant, worked out the problem quickly & charged a reasonable hourly rate (one hour labor even though he went over a little). All better now! Now that's compassion.

I have had this company do 2 jobs that were dis assembled by me and I saw that it was beyond my skill set. They never gave me the stink eye about it, the just came in, did the job and were courteous and professional. Michael is very personable and he does a great job. I am having them come back to complete repairs and install a large shower where the master bathtub was. They are also removing a dishwasher I don't use and a garbage disposal that keeps throwing the breaker. I can't wait til it's all done! I'll post pictures when it is.

I was very impressed at the quality of Charlie's work. He replaced corroded and leaking laundry hookups in my apartment putting down drop clothes everywhere to protect everything, and when he had to patch the wall after cutting it he even left it looking better than before he cut it. :) I recommend them for any job you want done correctly and professionally.

I came out to find that there was a crack in my hot water heater's pipes. I called Charlie's and got immediate service. Michael was the serviceman and was courteous and prompt. Will keep this company for any further plumbing or heating issues.

An unparalleled smell was emitting from my kitchen, or so I assumed. After a few hours, knowing that it was something more than just my eclectic cooking, I called PG&E's emergency line. Less than 15 minutes later my 70-year-old wall heater was shut off for ozing out CO2.
""No Problem!"" I thought. We were experiencing unseasonably warm weather at the time. I can live without heat. I was so wrong. A few days later I felt like I was camping, and my endurance was wavering. I needed heat! I realized that I had to call a professional. But who should I call? I had no idea. I asked around. A friend suggested Charlie's Plumbing and Heating.
I called the number and set up an appointment. Michael arrived punctually the next day, and from the moment I met him I felt at ease. I found him to be both charismatic (a trait not essential to have in a tradesman- but a nice bonus) and knowledgeable. He assessed the situation and gave me an estimate for a new double sided wall heater.
Shortly after that Michael and Gilbert seamlessly replaced my antique wall relic. This was not an easy job because the old wall heater was both shorter and wider than the new model.
The estimate was reasonable and accurate. The work was professional, timely, and clean. Don't hesitate to call Charlie's Plumbing and Heating. They encompass everything that homeowners want in a professional: a competency that you can trust.

I called Charlie because my furnace was acting up. Within a day, Michael responded, inspected my furnace and discussed my repair/replace options without pressure to sway my choice either way. I chose replacement. Three days later, Michael and Gilbert arrived to quickly (three hours) and competently install my brand new furnace. Michael is a very friendly professional plumbing and heating specialist. He is both confident and competent. Charlie's Plumbing has earned a lifetime customer in me!

First, the plumber who came out to my unit, Michael, did a great job. If I could rate only him I would give the man 5 stars. As a matter of fact he is the reason this company deserves any star. Second, whoever worked in the office when I called to ask when the plumber would arrive needs to learn customer service skills and they are the reason I am giving this review. I was told the plumber would arrive between 2-4 pm; I confirmed it the day before and the day of the appointment. I had to leave work early (I get paid hourly=not being paid to go home) so I could meet Michael. Around 3:40, I called Charlies and asked when the plumber would be arriving and the man who picked up said between 4-6. When I said the appointment was for 2-4 he tried argue that it was for 4-6. I told him I confirmed it with the lady who made the appointment and I also tried to mention that I had to leave work early; his reply was, insincerely, ""Well mistakes happen, sorry, we are all human you know."" That comment shows the integrity of your company. The man obviously didn't want to hear me so I just said thank you and hung up the phone.

I work in the customer service profession and I have heard that saying more than I would like. If that is all you can tell a customer, who is making an effort to adjust his workload to meet yours, then you are not business worth investing in. I am pretty sure if a contractor treated this company like that and then tells them, ""well we are human"", they would be just as if not more upset than I was. Just in case this company doesn't know, its pretty obvious we are all human and that we all make mistakes. I would not have been upset enough to write this review had they just said ""sorry if it was a mistake on our end, we will do what we can to make sure it doesn't happen again."" But to get the sarcastic remark like I did is just flat out unprofessional.

Everything was as good as can be expected. From a friendly voice answering my call, to showing up on time, to giving me a fair price for the work done. It actually cost less to fix my initial problem, plus a cleaning, than the other guys wanted to charge just to show up.
