My Mother had a clogged toilet. Called Charlie's plumbing to come and unclog the toilet. The plumber who showed up. Told my Mother she needed a new toilet. Came across rudely to my Mom. She said no I don't need a new toilet and please leave. She paid for the service fee.

The young man who came to my house to repair my wall heater thought he had fixed the problem, but he didn't. That evening my heater shut down automatically. Then I had call the company and said that my wall heater still was not working, the company said that someone would come out and check out the problem, they never did. If I could rate the company I would have rated it a zero!

Charlie's Plumbing sent their team to fix a major plumbing issue. A third bathroom had been ""off stream"" for years, due to a flood in the area. To get it up and running again required finding the best way to get the water from one side of the laundry room to the other, when it was on a solid concrete slab! The guys presented 3 possible ways, and then recommended the one that would be least expensive and best solve the problem.

Despite an Evacuation Order for the area, they kept focused on getting the 3rd bathroom up and running again! It was professionally done and worked great!

My 90-year old parents live in Salinas and had this company come out when their furnace stopped during a cold spell. SInce I live a number of hours away, I couldn't come and fix it, or wait for any parts. This company came, and replaced the first most expensive thing, the gas valve. After a week, the furnace failed again, and this time, charging their full, very expensive hourly rate, charging much more time than the job should have taken, the next most expensive thing had now failed, the control board, and evidently, also the hot surface ignitor, which was replaced only a few months ago. Hard to figure how all these components all failed at the same time after their tech had been messing with it. Plus, a huge markup on the components of about 3x what anyone can purchase them for anywhere online. So they seem to be the ""lets try replacing this most expensive item, see if that works, then if it doesn't we'll try something else"" type of technicians, all the time charging you a large hourly rate for a job that shouldn't take that long, and then charging you three times the cost of the part they are seeing will fix the problem. I don't know if there is anything better in Salinas, but know I wouldn't trust them. Since I wasn't there, and don't know what was said, I can't file a fraud complaint with the County, but I just want everyone to be aware, and watch them closely if you use them.

Great local family service. Spot on. Condo was empty for about 3 years. Heater was original and more than 30 years old. Family folks snowed up, tried to figure out if it was possible to update it. Nope. Needed a new furnace. I was so impressed with how they cared about installing the new one. It looks amazing. I'm 100% okay with recommending this service.

My heater just stopped coming on in the middle of a cold snap! I called around.. no one could ""come out"" for two days except for Charlie's. They were there within hours, no problem. The worker was pleasant, worked out the problem quickly & charged a reasonable hourly rate (one hour labor even though he went over a little). All better now! Now that's compassion.

I have had this company do 2 jobs that were dis assembled by me and I saw that it was beyond my skill set. They never gave me the stink eye about it, the just came in, did the job and were courteous and professional. Michael is very personable and he does a great job. I am having them come back to complete repairs and install a large shower where the master bathtub was. They are also removing a dishwasher I don't use and a garbage disposal that keeps throwing the breaker. I can't wait til it's all done! I'll post pictures when it is.

I was very impressed at the quality of Charlie's work. He replaced corroded and leaking laundry hookups in my apartment putting down drop clothes everywhere to protect everything, and when he had to patch the wall after cutting it he even left it looking better than before he cut it. :) I recommend them for any job you want done correctly and professionally.

I came out to find that there was a crack in my hot water heater's pipes. I called Charlie's and got immediate service. Michael was the serviceman and was courteous and prompt. Will keep this company for any further plumbing or heating issues.

An unparalleled smell was emitting from my kitchen, or so I assumed. After a few hours, knowing that it was something more than just my eclectic cooking, I called PG&E's emergency line. Less than 15 minutes later my 70-year-old wall heater was shut off for ozing out CO2.
""No Problem!"" I thought. We were experiencing unseasonably warm weather at the time. I can live without heat. I was so wrong. A few days later I felt like I was camping, and my endurance was wavering. I needed heat! I realized that I had to call a professional. But who should I call? I had no idea. I asked around. A friend suggested Charlie's Plumbing and Heating.
I called the number and set up an appointment. Michael arrived punctually the next day, and from the moment I met him I felt at ease. I found him to be both charismatic (a trait not essential to have in a tradesman- but a nice bonus) and knowledgeable. He assessed the situation and gave me an estimate for a new double sided wall heater.
Shortly after that Michael and Gilbert seamlessly replaced my antique wall relic. This was not an easy job because the old wall heater was both shorter and wider than the new model.
The estimate was reasonable and accurate. The work was professional, timely, and clean. Don't hesitate to call Charlie's Plumbing and Heating. They encompass everything that homeowners want in a professional: a competency that you can trust.
