If you value your home DO NOT use Charles E Smith (CES) Plumbing! This company is the absolute worst. The father (Charles) came to my home because I had a clog in my sewer line. He diagnosed the problem and immediately told me that my insurance wouldn't pay for the pipe repair but his son (Marvin) knew how to word the invoice so that the insurance would cover most of the cost. I told him that was insurance fraud and that I wouldn't do that. I should have known then to get rid of them but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Marvin contacted me to say that he would be out the next day at 8AM. Marvin never showed, his sister called at 12:30 in the afternoon to say they don't work in the rain because they didn't want their workers getting sick (where they do that at?). I was then told they would be out the next day which was a Saturday. Again, I was told 8AM. Marvin and his sister showed up at 11:30AM, 3 1/2 later! Marvin was supposed to do the water mitigation, he did not. All he did was moved my furniture around, cut a huge hole in the wall and put out two fans. He gave me an invoice to send to my insurance company. The invoice was so padded ($4223) my insurance adjuster called me and requested pictures of the work. When I sent the photos of what WASN'T done my insurance company said that they weren't paying for the mitigation. Marvin showed up at my home reeking of weed! I asked if he had a license to do this type of work and he said that he is licensed under the company (his father), which means NO, he isn't. I contacted his father to ask why he wasn't at my home to supervise to which he responded that he has sciatica and couldn't move. He stated that Marvin is working under a Master Plumber but when I mentioned that the master plumber is supposed to be here to supervise and that I am not paying for the work unless a licensed plumber was here; he then showed up 2 hours later. They began the work of replacing the sewer pipe ( which I paid out of pocket $6300). Two days later, the pipe started leaking! I contacted Marvin, again he said he would be at my house at 8:30AM and showed up at almost noon. He said that the leaking wasn't coming from the new pipe and accused me of pouring a bottle of water on the floor. He then said that I didn't want to use them because they were black ( I'm black so I have no idea where he was going with that statement). With that statement I told him to leave my home. Marvin then made a comment of putting me on Tik-Tok for what reason, I'm not sure. I contacted another company to do the water mitigation properly and upon their completion they saw where there is a leak in the cement that was used by CES plumbing. Charles E Smith ( and Marvin) used regular cement instead of hydraulic cement. Now I have to have another plumber come out (which I will have to pay out of pocket) to fix their mess. Whatever you do, please do not use this company! They are cheats, hustlers and thieves who have no professionalism and no license.

I am a single female, senior citizen and disabled veteran homeowner. I was looking for a licensed plumber (bathroom had no hot water for over a year) which was hard to find. Mr. Smith is licensed, his crew, his son and brother n law, took my house apart (holes in walls & partial ceiling) to replace old pipes. Pipes are working well, but, when, we first met, Mr. Smith did not tell me price quote $5k did NOT include putting my house back together, so, it's holiday time and my house is a mess. Once pipes were replaced, Mr. Smith told me it would cost an additional $1500 to put my house back together. Smith and crew put a hole in freshly painted living room wall, that they did not need. After quote to put house back together, Smith, blew my phone up two days later to come back to repair walls and ceiling. I did not answer calls because I realized he and crew are hustlers. I am sure they were counting on me being desperate. So, I found a great contractor, who provided detailed invoice at half the price before starting work. Mr. Smith's daughter brought invoice & contract to my house much later in day, after crew started working, so see, they were intentional. BEWARE OF HUSTLERS.
