Brittany S.I went with Chapman off of a friend's recommendation and am very pleased. The technician that came was very respectful of my property and time. He ensured I knew the cost before doing the work which I appreciated. He explained what needed to be done and made it make sense.
Had Chapman plumbing fix a toilet they had installed that developed a small leak at the base. Amy took my call last week and offered to have someone come out immediately that day!!!! Since a small leak, as scheduled for today. Gage came out and was extremely nice, wanted to fully understand the issue and fixed it at no cost!!! They honored their work and product. From the office staff to the technicians, they are always so nice and helpful.
i sooooooooo wish i could make this a no star review. we had chapman install our payne ac unit and compressor in 2018.
the install not only took 13 hours the first day the service manager **chris had to come out the second day to fix something i made sure they we're 100% aware of before they started and did incorrectly. well we are now a year and a half out from install and outside our ""service"" warrenty still having the same problem and looking at paying for labor that should have been fixed previously. the home is a 1600 sq foot home yet the ac cannot get the house below 78 when above 90 out.
i cannot say enough horrible things about how condescending most of the office employees & managers have been especially shirley & chris.......
maybe i should send this write up to the colts so they can think about who the have represent them....
stay away from this company!!
Jason H.Chapman has serviced my company and residential homes and never had an issue. It is nice to have a down to earth tech show up that you can trust. So many places take advantage of the fact that people do not know HVAC systems and get raked over the coals. You never get that feeling from them. I had three companies come out and they all told me I needed to add another system to my house. Called Chapman and they said you just need to divert the heat or AC to where it is beneficial. Then he came back with some dampers and fixed our problem for a fraction of adding another system. I also love how they are so involved with giving back to our community. They are always sponsoring events for local clubs and teams.
We had an a/c problem and called Chapman as they were advertised on Fox 59. They not only didn't fix the problem, they over charged my hvac unit, didn't clean the coil (a/c 101, tech said it should be fine!) and caused us to have to replace the entire unit. Yes it was older but their negligence sent it over the edge. Called, sent pics of the coil, told by the owner that yes, he agreed that it wasn't handled properly but not going to refund our money. Not even the service call. Never again.
Emma P.This was my first time using Chapman for my heat pump maintenance. Scheduling the appointment was easy. The technician showed up promptly, assessed the problem, offered me options to remedy the situation, and got right to work. Each step of the process was explained to me, and I chose those items I felt were necessary. I never felt rushed or pressured.
This experience was so different from my last dealings with Dial One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning. I was a customer of theirs for more than 25 years, but I refuse to deal with a company that thinks it is acceptable corporate behavior to have a representative contact me and demand, threaten, and yell at me in order to re-gain my business.
If the need arises, I will again contact Chapman for any service or repair to my heating/cooling equipment. I hope they send their technician Desmond back; he was very nice.
Jan B.Woke up to find out that both of our AC units were not working. They sent someone out quickly and had them fixed right away. Very happy with our experience.
I recently signed up with an annual hvac and plumbing service agreement with Chapman. We installed a new hvac unit a few years back and it started making a high pitched whining noise. The company we purchased the unit through ultimately lost our confidence by lack of knowledge and difficulty scheduling service.
Chapman sent a service tech who immediately heard the noise and knew what it was, since has come back and replaced the part.
My experience with Chapman has been excellent. From scheduling to communication to tech being professional. I Highly recommend this company.
Richard P.Over the last few months, my furnace has become an ongoing saga. While it's only 5-6 years old, the simple truth is it's had more than a few issues. While I believed that I had the issues resolved when the blower motor was replaced a couple months ago, I continued to have issues with a fan that simply wouldn't turn off and was massively driving up my utility bills.
I replaced the thermostat with the help of the company that replaced the blower motor, though their opinion was that a control board was likely needed. Since they'd generously offered to install the thermostat for a relatively slight fee, it was agreed that we'd see if the thermostat might help the issue.
Of course, it didn't.
I had the feeling that I needed a second opinion. I don't know why, but I just kind of felt like something was being missed. I had a friend whose ordinary heating person agreed to come look at it, but he never followed through.
So, finally, on a sick day I opted to jump on Yelp and look at some reviews. Early in the morning on a Friday, I contacted a couple companies that offer the ""get an estimate"" option. While Chapman's listing didn't offer a fast response, I added them to the list and, in fact, they were the first to respond and it was within minutes.
Due to the complexities of my explanation, they recommended I call in and talk to their scheduling person. I did. I actually talked to two people - both super friendly and helpful. The diagnostic fee was explained up front, at $98, and it was explained that even though I was pretty sure I knew the issue that this was standard to ensure nothing was missed.
While the fee struck me a bit high, I will also note I'd foolishly tossed their discount/coupon that they regularly include in neighborhood mailings. So, that was on me.
I also really just wanted a fresh set of eyes on the furnace and they offered to come by that afternoon between 1-5pm.
At around 2pm, the technician showed up. He was friendly and professional. He took some time to look, weighed what I had said and then found the real problem that, in the end, saved me quite a bit of money. It was a matter of one wire being placed in the wrong location.
That simple. Once that wire was moved? No fan issues or anything. Perfection. No control board was needed.
I learned that Chapman regularly deals with Bryant systems, the same brand as mine, and I also liked that this tech took the time to actually explain things in understandable detail. He called his service manager to make sure charging only the diagnostic fee was fine, but it was clear the intent was to say ""You don't need a new part. This fixes it.""
I was impressed with their timeliness, their honesty, and the fact that after a couple months of being advised in a different direction that the tech truly did some diagnostics and found the issue by thinking outside the box. I liked that he considered my feedback, but trusted his own expertise and, in the end, saved me cash.
Located on the Westside, Chapman works all around Central Indiana and I won't hesitate to return to them for business as my Central Air system will likely be the next thing to need service/replaced.
FOR THOSE CONSUMERS WHO PURCHASED A HVAC WITH AIRMASTER HEATING COOLING AND WAS LEFT WITH NO WARRANTY OR SERVICES THAT WERE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE COMMENTS BEFORE GETTING SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY.
IF YOU USE THE SERVICES OF CHAPMAN THAN YOU ARE HELPING PAY FOR THE SALARIES OF AIRMASTER THAT LEFT YOU WITH OUT A WARRANTY AND SERVICE PAID IN ADVANCE.
This is information may be old news but I just connected the dots today. I had a HVAC installed on June 13, 2013 by Airmaster Heating and Cooling located at 5416 N. College, Indianapolis, IN 46220. What I did not realize that they had or was about to declare bankruptcy. I learned of the bankruptcy when I stopped by to purchase a air filter. I NEVER had the service that was promised. The warranty information was NEVER submitted. Bryant Corporate Office referred me to Chapman Heating and Cooling and Airmaster Heating and Cooling phone number of (317) 257-3446 was redirected to Chapman. I was told by Bryant that there was no information about the warranty or pre-paid service. So I had to pay for the service that was part of the contract and had a new system with no warranty. Since that time I have paid for ALL service due to the bankruptcy.
I discovered that owner and some employees with AirMaster are now employed by Chapman. This was confirmed when Chris K. of Chapman stopped by the house today, August 1st, to give me a estimate. When he arrived I realized that this is the same guy that sold me the HVAC in 2013. When I open the door I said you been to my house before when working for AirMaster. He confirmed that he previously worked for Airmaster. At that point, it confirmed everything that I spoke to Chapman and Bryant Corporate Office.
THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL TODAY IS --IT'S LIKE BEING ROBBED AND THEN YOU LET THE ROBBER BACK IN TO VICTIMIZED YOU AGAIN.
