We had them upgrade our shower fixtures in two bathrooms, and it is taking a lot of visits to get it right. First they came for an estimate, fair enough (visit 1). Then a guy came to do the work, but he couldn't do it at that time because he didn't have the right parts (visit 2). So then we had to have another visit for a guy to come and do the work (visit 3)--but afterward there was a leak as a result. This is a brand new leak that did not exist before the new fixtures were installed. So Chandlers sent a guy back to fix the leak (visit 4), and he did some stuff, but the leak did not go away. Another guy came back to try to find the leak (visit 5), and he couldn't find the source of the leak, so the guy just shrugged and said he couldn't do anything! Then I had Chandlers send another guy to come back, and he was finally able to fix the leak (visit 6). That's six visits! Thank goodness I work from home sometimes, because otherwise I would have to take a lot of time off for this.

But wait, there's more. We still need another visit! When the initial work was done, a few tiles were cracked next to the fixtures in one bathroom. So Chandler arranged to have someone come and replace the cracked tiles. Of course we waited until the leak was fixed before we had someone come to replace the tiles, because we figured that any additional mucking around might result in more cracked tiles. So after the leak was fixed, we scheduled for the tile guy to come replace the tiles (visit 7). He did a good job with the tiles, but unfortunately he did something wrong with the fixtures because now there's not enough hot water in that shower. Sigh. So hopefully when someone comes for visit 8, it will be the final visit.

Beyond the problems that I've described here, I will add that the person who answers the phone is not very customer-service-oriented. She never says ""please"" and ""thank you."" She doesn't say rude things or anything, but the fact that she never says these basic customer service words makes me feel like she looks down on me or something. She was like this from the beginning, even before all the repeat visits.

I can't believe the plumber from Chandler was absent minded enough to dispose of the grease from my clogged kitchen sink pipes by pouring it down the bathroom toilet. I didn't think about it when he did it but the guy should have known better. I'm praying that my toilet does not get clogged up from this. Isn't the plumber supposed to take whatever debris from the pipes/ drain and dispose of them properly instead of recycling into the system? Also the snaking device he was using broke from its tip. I hope nothing was broken internally. Seems like an untrained amateur was sent to my place.

I've used them a couple of times and their service was prompt and professional. When I was getting quotes for my new water heater, they were the only company who spotted that the newer model would not fit and offered me an alternative that did. During the installation they had to replace some piping, I was thinking to myself ""I wonder how much that will cost me"". To my surprise, it cost nothing. I was charged what was quoted. To them, the extra piping was just part of the installation.

I've used them since then and had an equally positive experience. The last time I called they offered to send a plummer that same day. Since I wasn't home I ended up scheduling them for the next morning.

I recommend them very highly.

We had an issue with our AC unit. I called Chandler @ 9:00am and they sent a technician out at 10:00am. He did a though inspection of the AC unit and the lines coming into the house. Good price and totally satisfied with the experience.

We just had Chandler's replace our AC and switch our furnace from oil to natural gas.

Bottom line: I will contract with Chandler's again to do HVAC work.

Very professional from estimate through installation. They let me know when I asked for an estimate how long it would take them to start work. They offered an interim solution to our under-performing AC system while we waited for an opening on their calendar. They listened to my requirements, offered several solutions within my price range, made adjustments on my requests after starting work, and delivered all the results I wanted. Our new AC system is way more effective than our last system. We can sleep in the upstairs bedroom comfortably (without a window unit) and are no longer worried about the house heating up when we entertain a house full of guests on a hot Summer day. The technicians walked us through the new systems, reprogrammed our thermostat, and left the basement cleaner than they found it.

The only criticism I have is that they need to be more conservative when estimating the time it takes to complete jobs in older houses. What was estimated as a two day job unsurprisingly turned into a three day job as they struggled with the outdated and decayed wiring and ducts in our 1940's Cape Cod. This was not a big issue, and they had the AC working by the time they left on the second day, but my wife and I were slightly inconvenienced by having to juggle our work schedules to cover a third, unplanned day of work at the house.

I strongly recommend Chandler's for HVAC work.

We used Chandler's for years and never had a problem until a few months ago when an incredibly disappointing experience led us to find a different plumbing company.

In a nutshell, we had a plumber come to install some new fixtures in a bathroom. Once he checked out the situation, he asked me to go to the plumbing supply store to buy some parts. I thought it was odd that he would ask me to go, but I did it.

After I purchased the parts, they sent a different guy out and he said the parts I had purchased were wrong (they were the parts the first guy had called in) and so I went back to the plumbing supply store to exchange them. Then the second guy said there was an issue that complicated the job and it couldn't be done without a custom ordered part.

So we ordered the part and waited. And waited. And called. And waited. And for several months we were told it would only be ""a few more days.""

Frustrated by the whole experience, we wrote it off and called someone else. The new guy came out and installed everything without any custom parts or needing me to make three trips to the plumbing supply store.

If you are looking for a plumber, Chandler's will probably be a good pick, but I can't recommend them without a word of caution regarding our one bad experience.

If I could give ten stars, I would. They have been instrumental in helping me fix up my 1956 brick rambler. They've taken care of all the little leaks, fixed the furnace, replaced the AC when it crashed two years ago during a hot spell, and have been awesome in living up to their end of the bargain in our maintenance contracts. Excellent company. Only once was the work not good, but they made it right by sending out a more knowledgable plumber the very next day and did not charge me. Definitely call Chandlers for all your plumbing/heating/AC needs.

I had them replaced the water heater for my tenant, and they charged me $1075 for a 40gal lowboy water heater and labor. They claimed charge is higher than normal, because the water heater has a low demand and needs to be special ordered, but they will have everything installed within a couple hours. so much for special order and low demand.

they really know how to gouge people, and taking advantage of the situation. I am not questioning the quality of their work. for that price, I hope installers have PhD in water heater installation.

Chandler's fixed a couple of small plumbing issues for me last week (rehooking up a sink, tub overflow gasket). Drew and another guy showed up when they said they would, were very polite, and fixed the issues pretty quickly. I'm a first time homeowner so I have no real basis for comparison, but the cost seemed very reasonable to me. I will definitely be using them again if I have other plumbing issues.

We had a pipe freeze event after the polar vortex. I had shut off that part of the house when I knew a pipe had burst after thawing the pipes (turning up the room heat). After looking through our past plumbing contractors, we got a reference to Chandler's. After reading their reviews and after getting hourly rates, I select Chandler to come our for the repair.

Sean arrived and within an hour had found a cracked elbow and replaced it. Very polite, efficient. He asked if I wanted a discarded piece of wallboard for paint matching which was a good suggestion.

Chandler's has competitive rates with the industry. In spring, I will ask them to come out and replace the 30 year old shut off valves that were a problem during this freeze.

Sincerely, Dave
