They lied to me several times. They have serviced my gas boiler at a rental house numerous times, but when I called they said they no longer have gas technicians, and have no idea who Brian McCormick is who did some of the plumbing on it.
This week my brother told me they were installing a gas boiler at the fire department in New Haven.
So I stopped by their office and was told they have technicians but won't service a boiler unless they installed it.
Is it that difficult to be honest? If you don't have enough staffing just say so. If someone no longer works there just say so. Don't make up lies to cover your butts. I've been a good customer and don't deserve being lied to. The Vermont I remember is better than this.

I am an discount taking heating oil customer of CVPH. I need a small plumbing job done. Won't schedule service until spring (it's January) because ""I'm not a customer"". Well, they're right. Just ordered heating oil elsewhere.

Customer Service is an absolute must in a service industry and this place is seriously lacking! We have been customers of theirs for over 5 years (always paying on time and flexible with changes in service calls) only to be treated with the most disrespectful attitude from an employee when trying to schedule a service appointment. Apparently, NOT so apparent, if they haven't performed any work on your property in 3 years you are no longer considered a customer. This means that they will not do any work for you in which they don't state anywhere but expect you know this. We literally had to argue with them and pull past receipts -that thankfully I had saved -to PROVE to them that we were indeed customers of theirs!

I was sorry to see the 1 star review for Champlain Valley Plumbing and Heating, because it was so far outside of my experience with this company. At one point, I owned two commercial buildings in Middlebury as well as my home. Over the years, I have called on their service department countless times. They have responded promptly in every situation and provided lasting repairs without exception.
Most recently, I had a quests visiting from Belgium and China. All I needed was a simple instillation of a kitchen faucet, but it became an emergency when the old faucet failed after the quests had arrived. No problem. The service tech from CVPH came to my door at 8:30 am on a Saturday morning and installed the replacement to save us from an international incident.
Seriously, these guys are dependable and capable. I am sorry someone had a bad experience, but on the whole I have no problem giving them well deserved 5 star review.

I will start this review by saying that Champlain Valley Plumbing and Heating has done work at my house before, and has done a great job. Unfortunately, over the past 2-1/2 weeks, I have called them 4 times to schedule a service. Each time, I've been assured that someone would call me back. Not once have they returned my call. I understand this is a busy time of year, but if a service company tells you they are going to call you back 4 times, I would expect a call back every single time. Even allowing for someone to forget once, after making 3 subsequent calls, and this lack of service, I will not be using them again, nor would I recommend them.

We recently bought a house from a dedicated do-it-yourselfer. There were issues. The washing machine set up looked like a Frankenstein creation, and didn't smell great. They came in and put in dedicated pipes and other stuff that I don't understand. What I do understand is that we have a much more efficient washer that doesn't leave stinky water in a huge garbage container. The basement smells better and the crazy contraptions are gone. All done quickly and professionally. They will definitely stay on our list for any future jobs.
