Central Texas Drilling
Company Overview
For further details, contact us. With a legacy spanning more than 100 years, the Glass family has excelled in the well drilling industry. In the early 1900s, Frank Glass (1902) kicked off the practice of drilling water wells in Central Texas with horse-driven rigs.
Central Texas Drilling has been a significant part of the Central Texas business community since 1940. In 1970, Frank Glass purchased CTD, continuing the legacy of quality work. Since a young age, Frank has been involved in the drilling industry, alongside his father and grandfather. Aaron, Frank's son, has also joined the drilling and pump industry since a child. Being fourth and fifth generation well drillers, they have deep expertise in drilling methods and formations, contributing to Central Texas Drilling's standing today. In 1991, Aaron took charge of the pump division at Central Texas Drilling and launched his own venture, Centex Pump and Supply, Inc. Now, these companies work in tandem closely to deliver excellent services to our clients.

Centex has serviced our well in Wimberley for years. They respond quickly to service requests with quality workmanship and reasonable prices.

If hiring a company with good communication skills and integrity is important to the reader of this review, you are well advised to choose another company. They have plenty of business. Doing the right thing does not seem part of their core company values. Two request to speak with a manager went unfulfilled. Charging for estimates is fine if stated prior to estimate. I got popped with a surprise invoice and then told the estimate fee would be waived if I move forward with project. When I scheduled they changed their minds. There's a few other shockingly poor communication mishaps, but my energy to explain has wained. If you find yourself desperate enough to call these folks, be on the lookout for abhorrent communication and indifferent management.

A condominium community had a well drilled for irrigation to save money on their water bill. However, they were not informed that the City of Austin had a Well Ordinance passed in 2012 that required backflow prevention at the meter of every potable meter and that it had to be tested annually. The cost of these backflow preventers installation and the tests are as much or exceed the cost of drilling the well!!!!

I was referred to this company by the company that originally drilled my well in 1986. I had previously had a service call by another company and my pump is at end of life. I have an estimate from the other company and wanted to get additional estimates for pump replacement.
When I originally spoke with Central Texas Drilling, I provided all of the information on the pump as I had the original information from 1986 readily available. I was told they would contact me back later for the estimate. When I was called back, I was informed that they couldn't read any of the information that I had previously provided. They also informed me that they would not do an estimate for replacement without performing a service call for $150 dollars to diagnose the problem, despite having all of the information available that they needed for providing an estimate for comparison.
Sounds like they didn't really need my business anyway So they won't get it. Too bad, because I would have preferred to go to a company that was recommended by the ones that drilled the well.
I don't want to give them only one star because of never got the chance to evaluate their work. But office policy like they have isn't very customer friendly.

After requesting a quote, Central Texas Drilling came out and told us that everything would be under warranty because our well pump and system were only 2 years old. They then replaced the well control panel and informed us after the fact but said not to worry, everything would be covered 100%. It turns out that the control panel wasn't even broken to begin with...the issue was that the well pump needed to be replaced. We proactively called the company to let them know that it looked like the control panel was replaced and that we did not authorize that. We were told it was not replaced, that it was just common for the techs to wipe it down when testing. We then get a bill in the mail for a few thousand dollars. We called to tell them we never authorized that our control panel be replaced as we knew that was not the problem, but were told that it didn't matter because it was under warranty anyway. We told them we were not going to pay for this, and that they could just reinstall the old control panel that they removed. We were then told they were going to put a lien on our property. Never again will we use their services. The whole thing was shady and dishonest.

Central Texas Drilling & Centex Pump and Supply drilled and built our well infrastructure 4 years ago. Our pump went out on the Sunday before Memorial Day Monday. I took care of the replacing the pump but I had questions about wiring. Their team came out and walked me through the connections. They even answered a few lingering questions. You do not get customer service like this anymore. The team cares and went above and beyond. Not that I want something to happen to our well.. but I look forward to working with them in the future.

It's 102 and our well went out. Central Texas Drilling was the only company who could see us today. Mateo came right out (they didn't charge an emergency fee, btw) and fixed us right up. Walked me through the steps to avoid something similar in the future. Affordable rate. We'll absolutely use them again and again.
