I would never hire these people again. They seem to have a propensity for over charging especially when an emergency service is required. They had me at a disadvantage. The water stopped flowing and was
told I needed a new well pump. installing a new well pump is not a difficult task. The well already exists. The lack of water was affecting
the well being of a family of 7. At first they quoted 25,000.00 . After I picked myself off the floor I was able to negotiate the charge to 20,000.00 which was stiill ridiculous. I will be reviewing potential options including consumer affairs and BBB. I have to check if price gouging is legal in Nassau County.
I tried not to give them any stars,, however they wont post the review without it.

Central Plumbing & Drains replaced a leaking elbow pipe from a toilet that was causing a leak into the ceiling below. I was verbally told the plumbing work would be $3800, but paid $5500 which I assumed covered the cost of removing a portion of 2 walls and part of the wet ceiling tiles. Steve (owner) promised, but never delivered, on supplying me with a copy of documents I signed, and did not return my phone calls. Months later, I received an invoice for $16K+! Still no call from Steve to discuss, and now I've received a letter from a collection agency, which includes an $11K collection fee plus interest!

Always check the BBB site before hiring a contractor. I didn't realize they have an F rating.

Be warned about Central Plumbing and Drains, owner, Steve Vitalo and his shady business. Only after the costly mistake of hiring this lousy company, did I realize that all of their 5 star reviews are fake. *user profiles mostly have 1 review, and the others appear to be commissioned by the company itself rather than representing genuine customer experiences.

Through these false reviews, I hired them for a basic pipe repair- they charged me $700, a price that is significantly inflated. Then they claimed there was mold present, which was concerning. They went ahead and did mold remediation with out my consent, and charged me $4300.

I later had this independently verified and discovered there was no mold at all.
When I questioned them, Steve (the owner) immediately threatened legal action instead of addressing my concerns. This appears to be his standard tactic when customers complain - bringing up his lawyer to intimidate rather than resolve issues. Rather than working with me to address legitimate concerns about their service, they resorted to what seemed like intimidation. What kind of company response to customer feedback with legal threats rather than proper customer service? Avoid this company at all costs.
