Central Oregon Heating & Cooling has the worst customer service. I was talked into their contract when Damion came to my house in August regarding my heater. They charge your credit card monthly for the contract of checking your heater, water heater in winter and spring. Damion didn't have a list of what this contract includes so I asked when he goes back to the office, send one to me so I know what I'm paying for. I've never received it. There were other issues so since I never used the contract service and after several phone calls to get the list and scheduling the inspection that ended up falling through, I canceled the contract. According to Damion they would just credit my credit card for any unused services. I talked to Daniel twice to get the four charges credited back to my credit card. In the last conversation with him on 12/09/24 he told me he sent the list along with an invoice. I never received that and also the invoice was for work done on my heater which was paid for by the house builder. I don't know why I would get the invoice for services from July since the builder paid that back in July?? This morning was my third call to find out why I still have not been credited for the services I never received. There are a lot of HVAC companies here without having to make three phone calls to find out why I have not been credited and with much better customer service.

A very friendly representative stopped by to look at my projects and promised me a price the next day. A week later I called and was promised a return call right away. A week later I called again and was promised a bid right away. After two weeks I did finally get a price; it included, in part, $1000 for the installation of two low-voltage motion sensors on an existing outdoor lighting system. My impression; over two weeks their estimator forgot the scope of the project or they just really didn't want the hassle of such a small job. In any case, my experience to this point does not promise timely service if I schedule this work or needed support after the project is completed.

Extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service and communication. Jason took 75% of the price up front, completed 40% of the work and then left town without communicating. offered to come back 1 month later even though we were in the middle of master bathroom renovation. Had to scramble and find a replacement plumber to complete the job which obviously held the whole project up.

quite surprised to see the bad reviews. I just had COHCP give me a spring tune up for the heater and AC. WAYNE was prompt, friendly and efficient. He even found a problem with the AC, a redundant capacitor was causing a slow start. He removed it and wired the original capacitor back in and boom. Problem solved. Out the door for $99! As advertised!! No upselling, just fixing!!! I have used COHCP twice since I moved into my Oregon Home in 2023. First I had to have an internal thermostat replaced in the water heater. A different company charged me $65 bucks to tell me that the problem could be any number of things, and might want to consider replacing the whole rig. I said no thanks. Got a recommendation for COHCP from a neighbor. Called and the tech was there the next day. He showed me what he was testing and found a faulty internal thermostat. Out the door for $350 and not a problem since. In my experience, these guys are fast, efficient, knowledgable and honest. Will call them again.

We've used Central Oregon Heating, Cooling & Plumbing (COHCP) for our oil furnace so for pre-winter maintenance we called COHCP to do the work. We were told we'd get a courtesy call on the day of the appointment when the driver was 15 minutes away. We did get a courtesy call but he said he was five minutes away. Twenty minutes later we called COHCP to determine the location of the driver. We were told he got lost and had the wrong address. As soon as he walked in the door and saw our furnace he frowned and told us he isn't qualified to work on an oil furnace. A new appointment was scheduled for 48 hours later. Again, we were told we'd receive a 15-minute courtesy call. This time there was no courtesy call. But at least he was qualified for an oil furnace. I left him alone to work but almost immediately noticed the smell of gas. I went back to him and saw that he spilled diesel on himself and the floor. It's now the next day and my home still stinks from the spilled gas. As he was finishing the job he told me the capacitor for the motor is starting to degrade and recommended its replacement. He said he had the part on his truck and went to get the part as well as give me a quote. The capacitor is removed and tested as part of maintenance and is easily attached by two wires. He came back inside and said it would be $300 parts and labor. I was absolutely shocked. I was already paying $256 for the service, the original capacitor was in his hand (which means the extra labor is zero), and the capacitor is a minor part. How minor? I took a picture of the capacitor and the box, did a quick Google search, and immediately found several places where I could purchase the capacitor for less than $20. I called COHCP and spoke with a manager because I thought this must be a mistake. She said it wasn't, and the price I am paying includes the part, labor ( should be $0 because the capacitor has already been removed), the service call (he was already at my house for the maintenance), and a one-year warranty (the part carries a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer). She then said ''this was just a cost of doing business"".

Now let me share the pathetic response I received from COCHP after I left my review: ""Mr. Jankowski, I want to again apologize for the scheduling error. Upon learning of the situation, I immediately scheduled a senior technician who is qualified to work on oil furnaces for the following day. We value our customers and work diligently to correct any errors that may occur. Our equipment maintenance appointments include thorough inspection and cleaning of your furnace to ensure proper performance. Our trained technicians guarantee complete repair and quality parts. Without our technician's professional diagnostic, the failing component would not have been identified. Although we recommend an experienced technician complete repairs with any service industry (hvac, automotive, irrigation, etc), we respect our customers' decisions to locate parts at wholesale and replace them, acknowledging the individual preference, even with the associated risks. At Central Oregon Heating we aim use the highest quality parts for our customers and back our work with a 1-year labor and parts warranty.""

I'm sorry, but this explanatiopology completely ignores the issues: 1) The reschedule was not for the next day it was for two days later. We wasted a morning because the wrong technician was sent the first time. 2) My entry, laundry room, and furnace closet still smell like diesel fuel. Of course, I'm told in the reply that this was a senior professional trained technician. My house smells like diesel fuel thanks to your ""senior professional trained technician"". 3) They are still trying to justify $300 for a $15 part. The reply says we guarantee quality parts - the exact same part I can order online for $15. The reply then states we use ""the highest quality parts and back the part with a 1-year warranty"". Yup - the same part that I can buy online for $15 that comes with a 5-year warranty. 4) In order to properly diagnose the failing capacitor the technician needs to remove it from the furnace and test it. He then reverses the steps to put it back on the furnace, which are the exact same steps he would use to attach (literally ... it's two wires and a clip) the new capacitor to the furnace. I just had my tractor serviced and one of things that is done is an inspection of the air filters, which involves removing the air filters. If a new one is needed then I pay for the new filter but I am not charged a nickel for the work of installing the new filter, which is identical to the work required to put back the existing filter.

That COHCP continues to claim that replacing the existing capacitor and replacing with a new capacitor are two completely different labor activities shows either a fundamental lack of understanding of the work, a business model that encourages ripping off the customer, or plain greed.

Gave an overinflated estimate because they didn't want to do the job. Even charged me $100 for diagnosing the wrong problem. I complained to management. They said they would issue me a refund but never did. This company is incompetent, dishonest, and unethical. Avoid at all costs.

Had them perform an HVAC system inspection prior to selling our house. The technician was competent and professional. However, after an on-site visit of right around an hour, with no materials used, I was charged $334, which seemed outrageous. I will be shopping around for better price before ever using them again.

The technician was on time, quickly analyzed the problem and replaced the expansion unit on our water heater

We hired this company to install a tankless water heater for us--one of the worst decisions we have ever made. We were told that we would be able to run up to 4 showers at the same time, and the only downside would be that our kitchen faucet would take a slightly longer time before it would have hot water. We paid $5000 to have the unit installed (They said they would have to put it in a different place in the garage from where our hot water heater currently was.). Once installed, we found that every faucet in the house was taking a significantly longer amount of time before we got hot water from them, many of them taking 2 1/2 to 3 minutes before we got any hot water. Also, the first time we turned on the washing machine while one of the showers was running, the water pressure throughout the house dropped significantly. We called and they came back out and discovered there was a gas leak at one of the connections they had made during the installation. They also determined that they needed to re-route some of the lines they had installed under the house and assured us that would take care of all the problems. They came back another day and did the re-routing, but they took down portions of our insulation under the house and didn't bother to put it back, just leaving it on the ground of the crawl space. It did solve the low water pressure problem but did nothing to change the lengthy amount of time we had to wait for hot water. We did some research on our own and discovered we could have a recirculating pump installed that would take care of the lengthy wait. This company never told us about a pump, nor seemed to know it would solve the problem until we told them about it. They then told us they would get a pump for us, and install it, waiving the labor charge. We were told by the plumbing manager that he would personally oversee the work at the site to make sure we were satisfied. That didn't happen. We were charged $350 for the pump. The pump lasted 2 1/2 weeks before it broke. We were told we would have to pay to have a replacement pump installed. At this point, we stopped dealing with the company, and hired another company to come and see what they could do. When they came, they told us the pump that was on the unit was a knock-off brand. They had us order a quality pump and they installed it. Everything has been working fine since. Our impression is that this company (not the new one that got everything fixed) really doesn't have a good idea about what they are doing, and that the quality, service, and professionalism needed is lacking.
