Founded in 1967 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, our family-owned business began with just three dedicated employees. Over the years, we grew our operations in the Mercer County area by opening a branch office in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. This office has later been relocated to 1010 East State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania.

In the autumn of 1992, we launched a retail outlet for plumbing parts, located at 914 Moravia Street, New Castle, Pennsylvania. In July 2001, we established our third location in Grove City, PA, at 804 West Main Street. Today, our company boasts a total of 86 team members and over 50 vans to address all of our customer needs.

I called this company to take care of an emergency. They gave me an appointment for the following day at 2pm. I left work early to make sure I was there on time. 3pm no show. I called the customer service representative and she said they left me a message. I looked through my missed calls and voice mail nothing. I asked her who left the message, she insisted she did. Total lie. I asked for the manager/owner to give me a call. I never heard back. This is not a company that shows its reliable or cares. Take this into consideration when you choose a company to do work for you.

I've called them several times in the past three years for plumbing and heating problems. They have always responded quickly and fixed the problem efficiently. Latest visit was today for a furnace problem, on a very cold holiday weekend. Although they were extremely busy, within 2 hours of my call a service person was here and quickly identified and fixed the issue.

Had 2 furnaces installed. One of the installers was very rude. After cutting corners, he became belligerent and said he couldn't fix it because he had to pick up his kids from the bus.
Had a problem with one of our furnaces. We called them and they said they fixed it twice. (Under warranty)Third time secretary said we never called them and was extremely rude calling me a liar on the phone. Someone later apologized after my husband called back and said she made a mistake. Would not recommend.

Issue with technician lying about what he told me over the phone while at rental house that we own. . And also the office person lied as well.
We had a maintenance contract and they tried to charge me labor which should have been included in the service agreement, even on weekends. The technician first tried to tell me the person who installed the thermostat did it wrong - which was BS because it was a very experienced furnace guy who did it - there are only 2 wires that hook up this thermostat & if it was installed wrong it wouldn't have worked at all from the beginning.
Also he said he told me over the phone while he was there that I would be charged $185 in labor because a thermostat wasn't part of the service agreement - which was NOT true because I would have told him to come back on Monday to do it (it was a Sunday & wasn't that cold) & there is nothing in the service contract about replacing a thermostat - which only takes about 15minutes to swap out.
Then when I told the office girl that the tech told me no such thing, she tried to tell me that she ""pulled the recordings of the phone conversations"" - to which I replied ""Wow, really ? Because you do know that it's against the law in PA to record a conversation without both parties knowing ?"" And then she said "" well it wasn't us it was Verizon"" , and I replied ""well if that's the case the FBI would be very interested in Verizon tapping phone conversations"". She backpedaled from there after which I said never mind I am finding another company & I hung up.

Also I spoke to someone who used to work for Central- he said ""I worked for them for years. Labor is free no matter the time of day. If you have a paid plan service your thermostat is included no matter who put it in""
Keep in mind I do realize parts must be paid for, but there should have been NO charge for labor. I'm just glad that we were just about to renew our service contracts & this happened first.
One other interesting thing to note is that we had called Central 6 years ago to get a quote on a brand new furnace & AC. The salesman tried to sell us a unit that wasn't right for the size of our house- he was basically trying to unload it on us (it had been ordered for someone else who cancelled the installation )

I have never had a problem with them and they have gone out of their way to service my heating and cooling. I have used them for over 20 years. They installed all the heating and plumbing in the first house I built and came back to do the service. They just last summer on my recommendation did the new furnace and AC in my daughter's house that she bought a couple of years ago. She was very happy. We are helping build a new house for my daughter on some land we own and are getting a price from Central on the HVAC install.

Should be Zero stars. Tech spent 1.5 hours doing what an uneducated homeowner can complete in 15 mins. (Thermostat)

I also requested a test on the AC capacitor on the outside unit.

Without opening the unit, he said the fan motor was defective and recommended replacing the entire system to be ""more efficient.""

I ended up ordering the parts that I needed from Amazon (capacitor WAS blown) and fixed it myself.

Yesterday my husband called Central Heating and Plumbing to come fix our furnace, they told us that if they couldn't get to us yesterday, they would see us first thing this morning. Ok, fine. First of all, they never called to let us know that they wouldn't be able to get to us yesterday and the worst thing is, they were here at 0830 this morning while my husband and I (we both work midnights) were still asleep. The technician never called my husband's cell phone (that we deliberately left on in case the tech called). When we didn't hear him at the back door, he left! I'm really disappointed with this company. I will never do business with them again, nor do I recommend their services to anyone.
