I have used Central Air the last few years. Professional, courteous and did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone needing furnace or air-conditioning services. Good pricing as well.

So this is factual information provided by a central air employee and I am someone super close To them willing to say concerns. Anyone looking to get service from central air be incredibly careful. They send out a lead installer and an apprentice. These guys at central air send out their installers NOT LICENSED OR CERTIFIED to do electrical work and the management tells them to install anyways. Putting your home at risk. There has been instances where installers have cut out the structure of customers homes and not hiring professional framers to fix it or even letting the customer know what they are doing. The management tells the installers to do it. Central Air has also done plumbing work and Made guys who aren't Licensed or certified to work on a hot water heater or other plumbing needs. Anyone who's had work done from central air make sure you check what they have done thoroughly because they over charge their customers and management has installers ""complete"" a job the incorrect way to ensure the job is done same day so they can receive payment as soon as possible. Please everyone reading this if you Have read this far this is factual. They do dirty dirty business and the owner Andrew knows and is aware how things are done and he does not do anything to make things change All for the sake of saving the business money All while overcharging and stealing ""you"" the customers money.

No Respect for your Time. I had 2 meetings set with this company for them to come give a price and proposal on a 30 year old ac/furnace replacement.
The first meeting was a no show, when I called, the service tech was sick...fine, that happens. I rescheduled to be the first appointment of the day on a Friday morning. Window was 9-10. At 9.45 I called them asking if he was close. The technician hadn't left the yard yet. They're in Canby, I'm in Hillsboro. They didn't bother to call and, admittedly, don't call any customers until the tech is on the way.
If this is how they prioritize new business and a full replacement job, I definitely don't want to ever be an ""existing"" customer and see how I'm treated.

The pressure switch on my Lennox gas furnace failed meaning we had no heat during recent freezing temps. We called Central Air and explained the dilemma and even provided them with the furnace model number and the error code indicating pressure switch failure. They arrived the next day vacuumed out the interior of the furnace and amazingly diagnosed the failure as a pressure switch failure (didn't I already tell them that?) although they didn't have a replacement part available. The tech said ""special order, sometime next week"". That wasted trip cost $119.
Next week arrives and we receive a quote to replace the pressure switch - $427 plus another $75 ""charge to obtain non van stock part"" - total $502 but wait, there's another $7.08 charge, ""Est. Financing"". What financing? We were paying cash. $509.08 total estimate.
This all seemed odd to me as pressure switches online were listed from $25 to $60. I called the Lennox parts store and they sold the manufacturers replacement switch to me for $32.99. It was in stock, I picked it up from the store, less than10 minutes from my house. BTW, that Lennox parts store is just 1.8 miles from Central Air.
Replacement of the old switch took less than 5 minutes and required no tools - a simple matter of pulling 4 hoses from the old switch and pushing them onto the new switch; likewise, four pull off / push on electrical connectors. The switch itself just pushed into a slot on the furnace, again no tools required. The YouTube video explaining the install isn't even five minutes long.
Doing it myself cost $32.99 and less than 30 minutes, including drive time to the store and back.
Central Air wanted $628 ($119 + $509) and expected me to wait for days.
I understand a business must include a mark-up for overhead and profit but really, Central Air, this is scandalously ripping people off.

The February ice storm damage the grate on the top of my AC unit. Essentially ,the fan was hanging and inoperable. I asked for this company to come out and do an assessment and diagnose/fix the problem. There was an appointment available next day, a technician showed up, looked at the unit and said it was broken. This took 15 minutes at most. I was charged $119.00 and was left with no diagnostics or ideas what was happening with the unit. I received a ""bid"" for $2500. This included a $75 part ordering fee and some other suspect charges. I called to inquire and was told that they would not know what was wrong with the unit until they got new the top grate installed. I asked, if I used them for the fix would the $120 that I paid go towards the bill? Their answer was no. So I paid $120 for a bogus bid and, at most, 20 minutes of work. I called on a competitor to come and give me an assessment and bid. This company charged me $99. This charge will be reduced to the bill shall I use them to fix. This company also called Lennox and found out that my unit was under warranty. I was very impressed with the competitor and extremely unimpressed with Central Air Heating and Cooling. I do not recommend doing business with this company. It was like throwing $120 into a fire pit.

Stay away from this company. You will regret contacting them if you do. Took 2 months to get a quote. Quote came back incorrect and had to re-quote--another month. Horrible customer service. No one should have to beg to pay for service. It was like working with kids.
Stay away!

The folks at Central Air are amazing. Mike has gone above and beyond to work with us to resolve issues with our heat pump. If you need a team that cares about the work they do and will see the job through, these are the folks to call. They are professional and courteous. I highly recommend them.

Do you like to have people with juvenile attitudes work on your home? If so, you should call Central Air. If you like professional, honest, organized professionals to do the work, call someone else like Greensavers or First Call. More than 5 weeks ago someone came to my home to give me a quote for air conditioning. He stated he would email me a quote and specs. Here I am 5 weeks later with zero response. I have made multiple calls and emails to both the main Central Air line as well as the person who came to my home. I have gotten ZERO response from anyone. Over 2 weeks after the person came over, I called his cell and he stated he would email the information that afternoon. He didn't. On my most recent call I stated that I would have a lot more respect for their company if they would be honest about what happened to my quote, assuming they lost something or didn't get all of the necessary information when they were here. Still no response. In the past they would offer a Starbucks gift card for a positive review. I don't know if they still do that, but if they do, it might explain some of these 5 star reviews. I would just like my quote, but instead of telling me what really happened with the quote, I'm being ghosted-just like a child would do.

I highly recommend Central Air. They are fast, friendly and worth every cent! Honestly, you can't ask for anything more from the crew at Central Air. Thank you Andrew, our family would have been miserable without you!

We can't recommend Central Air strongly enough. Last year we finished building our dream home and just as we were closing it became apparent that among a crew of otherwise wonderful subcontractors, our HVAC provider had really let us down on some finishing work. We ended up with a wonderful house that was hard to enjoy because the A/C was missing (in the middle of one of those record breaking heat waves) and our air filter and several vents didn't fully work. Since the drywall was all closed up and we were in a rush to move in with a baby on the way, we needed a new HVAC company that not only knew their stuff, but would be willing to crawl around the attic and utility spaces of a home already built by someone else, correcting lots of little issues here and there that involved lots of labor.
Central Air came through with flying colors and now all our vents are well mounted with great airflow, our air filter is properly installed and easy to maintain, our A/C blows nice and chilly in the summertime, and they even spotted and fixed issues we didn't even know about like poorly sealed ductwork and missing insulation. Every step of the way, our point of contact Art Mays was patient, responsive, and always listened to exactly what we wanted (even willing to come out and make tweaks without complaint).
Whether you have a straightforward HVAC installation need, or a complex repair, we strongly suggest you talk to Central Air when comparing bids. You won't regret it.
