Their technician, John, is amazing. He came to remedy what we thought was a significant plumbing problem with our tub, but he found the problem was actually much more minor than had originally been diagnosed. What's more, he couldn't have been more respectful of our home, and drilled through a closet wall to diagnose the problem as opposed to going through the first floor ceiling or wall which surely would've been easier for him (and cost us more on the back-end). He saved us a ton of money and is an absolute pro. Five stars for John!

Nicor Home solutions sent them to my home to replace a water heater. Very poor customer service , Rude dispatcher and rude installers. The installers removed the old water heater and placed it in the middle of the basement, allowing a flood of water from the old heater into our basement after we spent two days cleaning up water after the leak. The installer became upset with me for bringing this to his attention. They left mud everywhere did not attempt to clean up and they left the box from the new water heater in my driveway. Center Guard was disrespectful to me and my home, They will never come her again. Horrible experience!!!!!!

We had a clotted sink in our utility room and leaky faucet under the sink in the kitchen. I think they spend more time fixing their tools than the actual work. They were fast, efficient and clean. I was extremely satisfied with their service. I would use their service again and would recommend them to my family and friends.

I've given Center Guard two separate 5-star reviews in the past, but my latest experience was not so great. In Feb, one of my toilets started a slow leak. They replaced the innards, I gave them a 5-star review, and life goes on.

Last week, the second of my three toilets started exactly the same leak. I decided to have them replace the guts of that one plus a third that was working properly but the same age as the other two that had developed problems, thinking to save a separate automatic service call charge.

1) I was NOT quoted a price (as they advertise) and I didn't ask for one because I had just had exactly the same thing done in Feb and therefore thought I knew what to expect.
2) The first thing I was told was that two toilets would be double the price. I objected because the main part of any quote they give is the automatic service call charge. We negotiated the price down to what I accepted as 'reasonable' and they proceeded.
3) The price I paid and the amount of time they were here calculates to $1180 an hour.
4) The toilet that was working had an immediate slow leak after the 'repair'. It started 'ghost flushing', a term that the man on the phone when I reported the problem said he'd never heard of. Lie #1 - there are 1,780,000 hits on Google - for a plumber to tell me he didn't know what ghost flushing was is the height of disrespect and I strenuously object.
5) He then proceeded to ask me absurd questions before he acquiesced to send someone out to look at the situation. When the service guy showed up, he also denied knowledge of the term. Lie #2 (although he had his tongue visibly in his cheek.)
6) I have given these folks good reviews and have had them out 5 times in 4 years and spent over $1400. Yet every time I call, it's as if they never heard of me. Considering the circumstances, the premium they charge, and the business I have given them I expect at the VERY LEAST to be recognized as a customer.

I am old, disabled and cranky. I resent being lied to, not recognized as a repeat customer, and paying $1180 an hour for work that was sloppily performed. (The man who serviced the problem toilet in question unnecessarily moved a hamper, unnecessarily bunched up a throw rug, LEFT THEM in that condition and also left paper debris on the floor. Again, $1180 AN HOUR.

I hate the fact that I have to go searching for another plumber at this stage. All I can say about Center Guard at this point is that it must be nice to have so much business that you casually throw away a repeat and previously loyal customer.

This company is a scam operation. After misdiagnosing the problem the insurance company would not cover the repair and the company wanted over $600 to do the wok, After writing them a check for payment the plumber left and sent in a person from another company to do the work. When the second company arriver the plumber had the problem fixed in 15 minutes and told me the plumber from Center Guard Plumbing would mail us back the check . I called Choice Home Warranty and they advised we cancel payment on the check. A scam that failed.

On June 13, 2019, NICOR Home Solutions scheduled Center Guard to fix a leak in the powder room vanity. After the plumber ""supposedly"" fixed the leak, I was out of town for the next 2 weeks. During the first week I had someone check on the house and it was noticed that the bathroom floor and the inside of the vanity were soaked with water. This also caused the ceiling tiles in the basement to collapse. In the meantime the water was cleaned up and the valves inside the vanity were shut off. When I returned, I was informed of the damage and immediately call Center Guard and Nicor Home Solutions and I advised that this was a brand new floor and vanity. Center Guard sent a different plumber who said that the reason it leaked was due to a ""new issue"". I explained I was gone for 2 weeks so it could not have been a ""new issue"" but a continued issue. He took pictures of the damage and said the owner would be in contact with me. To this day, and several conversations with Keith and Carly and NICOR Home Solutions I have never spoken to the owner. THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS AND SHOULD NOT BE CONTRACTED THROUGH NICOR. Also Keith is nothing more than a puppet who reads a scripted dialogue obviously given to him by the owner.

IF NICOR WISHES TO HAVE A HOME SOLUTIONS COMPANY THEY NEED TO RETHINK WHO THEIR CUSTOMER IS -- THE HOMEOWNER OR THE VENDOR!

WARNING: DO NOT USE these plumbers and make the mistake I did. Going on day 3 after the water heater replacement and I am still cleaning up the mess these plumbers (Kevin & Chris) made when they tilted/spilled water all over the basement floor damaging my rugs and furniture! He had the nerves to say it isn't their responsibility to clean up the water they spill and that it was already there - but it'll dry. Also, no courtesy to wear slip-on covers or remove their shoes. Be prepared to clean up after that as well. Don't be fooled like I was by their professional scheduling and estimates. If you still decide to take the risk and are unlucky like I was, don't expect management to address your concerns. When you have an issue, they'll tell you a supervisor will call but instead it'll be the plumber calling to argue about how professional he is - ppl's work ethics should speak for itself. Be respectful and own up to things, if they call themselves a professional company! Another advice, take into consider a drying fan in your estimate cost too, you may be unlucky and need to buy one too...

These folks are the worst and after reading all the 1 Star reviews and the fake 5 Star reviews it makes sense why I needed to also add my experience for others to read. It started with leak coming from our water heater. We called the home warranty (HWA) and a claim was opened and 2 days later a plumber from Center Guard arrived. He took a look at the water heater and did some troubleshooting and informed us we will need a new water heater. We now had to wait for another approval from the home warranty company to approve a new water heater.
Finally they came with the new water heater and it was installed yet we could let get any hot water. That's where they said it would be an extra charge to get hot water. And it just went downhill from there where we were told there was a piece missing and we would need to purchase it. Which made absolutely no sense since this was a brand new water heater. Please stay away from this company l, they are crooks!

Friendly tech who took all the time and work necessary to look into and fully figure out the issue we had (and he was outdoors on a frigid snowy day in Dec.) He worked hard to grind out our entire pipe full of overgrown tree roots that had been causing flooding over and over. Thank goodness they came because the company we had used before was a complete waste of time and money and told us they fixed the problem when they didn't at all.
