In an attempt to write an honest and meaningful review I will first point out that the technicians I have dealt with (back when I lived at the property that I now rent) were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My beef is with the front office. It has normally been a huge challenge to get a service scheduled. I now live out of state and rent my property. As such, I like to have a semi-annual preventative maintenance and inspection done on the system. On two occasions I have been assured that a service would be scheduled with my property manager (I now live out of state), and nothing ever happens. A followup call to check the status reveals that they have no record that I ever even requested a service in the first place. Additionally, I have been double billed on two occasions. The first time it was cleared up easily and not a significant issue. The second time it took over a month of back and forth calls with multiple people, even to the point where I emailed in a signed receipt and bank statement to prove to them that the bill had already been paid in full and on time. If this company could get the customer service/scheduling/billing in order it would be a worthwhile service provider. Until then, I've decided to take my business elsewhere.

C&C Myers Heating and A/C should receive zero/negative stars. One of the worst businesses I've dealt with ever. I enjoy writing strong revives and loathe these types. But, it needs to happen. Long story short, my family and I just moved to Mount Pleasant from New England on a Friday, only to discover the AC in our new home was not working. Heat index all week had been over 100, and the house was a thick 92 degrees when we moved in. A technician, Dave, came out that night to assess, and he determined the compressor on our 3 year old unit needed to be replaced. He said it would cost either (a) $2700 for a bundled """"Bronze"""" package to replace the compressor and do a bunch of other stuff or (b) $4200 to replace the entire AC unit. We discussed the fact that we had a home warranty policy, and he said he'd dealt with the specific warranty company """"many"""" times and would process all the preauthorization stuff for option first thing Monday morning and get us up and running by later that day. Not only did he not call at all on Monday, he never responded to attempts to reach him to get an update. After getting the runaround with the main office later that afternoon, we finally were informed that the company does not deal with warranty companies and were not sure what their technician, Dave, was talking about when he discussed this with me several days earlier. They said they would do the work only if we paid out of pocket to replace the $4200 unit. They hadn't even called Carrier to inquire about replacing the compressor and doing that Bronze package they're hocking.. Didn't even offer to make that call. In the end, our realtor scrambled to get another company out to see us later that afternoon, who said the fix was easy and that the compressor was available in North Charleston and covered by the manufacturer...and could be replaced at a very small fraction of the cost. Bottom line, my goodness, avoid C&C Myers at all costs. Whether it's incompetence or exploitation, it shouldn't matter. The entire operation seems to target the lowest common denominator to fleece people for unnecessary work and use classic bait-and-switch techniques.

I have two older split heat pump units in my house, both of which stopped heating and cooling. Figured they must need a charge or replaced so called C&C and they came out same day and within 45 minutes after arriving, determined the first unit had a bad leak and couldn't be recharged. Tech then had to go back to the shop for more r-22, then another 40 minutes to refill the second unit and it held. The tech was polite and seemed good enough to quickly get to the source of the problems. My main issue was with the company billing - $90 fee for looking at the units but then there were three 'options' of paying for the work - """"Bronze"""" and """"Silver"""" and """"Gold"""", I think, and then for another $20 the tech 'convinced' me I needed the """"Comfort Club"""" option on my service. After he agrees I should pay the """"Bronze"""" level option, I take the bill for $586 to have two units 'diagnosed' and recharged and told one unit is dead. I got a very quick explanation of what the """"levels"""" and the """"Comfort Club"""" were but there was no documentation to describe them. My second issue was with how he handled the bad unit. Initially he said he could seal it based on his diagnostic, but then after putting the charge in he said he was wrong and it had too severe of a leak. So, I'm not sure what the diagnostic process was but it obviously isn't very accurate if you have a bad leak. I'm not an HVAC expert, but it seems like you should be able to find out about a big leak with some kind of a pressure test? I did get a 90 day warranty on the unit that held the charge.

I could not be more pleased with the knowledge, professionalism or service provided to me by CC Myers. I purchased a new AC unit last June 2013 and it just did not appear to work properly. I contacted CC Myers about cleaning my duct work and adding additional insulation to my home. The service representative showed me the concerns of my current duct work and it was mutually agreed that I needed new duct work installed as well as additional insulation. My home is quite old and there was minimal insulation in the attic. From the initial service representative to the young men that installed my new duct work, I can only rate them exceptional in their knowledge and quality of there work. I contacted them because of the ad they run in The Post & Courier every day and I was not disappointed.

On the hottest day of the summer, I was told by the Myers technician that my A/C unit needed replacing. The fan blade broke and destroyed the motor and it would cost thousands to repair. He recommended we replace the unit since it was 13 yrs old. Then they sent the salesman out to the house to convince us that not only did we have mold and clogged air ducts, but that we would need to spend $8000 to clean those and replace our unit. This was the 'base' model. When we decided to get another quote, the salesman became aggravated and said he wouldn't have come out if he knew we weren't prepared to buy. Who spends $8000 without a second quote? Thank god for Jeremy with J&S, he came out the next day, quoted us $4900 for the same unit (installed), and then took a closer look at our destroyed A/C unit. It was totally repairable and he fixed it in an hour with one part replacement and labor for $300. Seriously??? Oh, and there is no mold, in fact the ducts looked fine. Myers, shame on you.....so dishonest. The owner promises to refund us the $90 service call and use this as a 'training/teaching' example with his employees. Can you teach honesty? Let's hope so.

Bottom line up front: These guys can be counted on to follow through on solving a tough air conditioning problem! They have my highest recommendation! A few months ago we were having trouble with our upstairs AC, a brand-name unit that was just 3 years old. The unit would keep cutting out every other day or so, leaving us hot and frustrated. Even though parts were under warranty, labor was not, and could potentially be a very expensive fix. When a rival company looked at the unit and offered no explanation for the problem, we called C&C Myers. They did an extensive check of the unit and thought they had a solution. We agreed to a price for the fix and they promised to have it running properly, so we had the initial work done. Unfortunately, the fix was not successful..but true to their word, C&C Myers promised to stick with alternative fixes, free of further charges. Unfortunately the fix was elusive--a bad wiring harness--and it took several parts changes and many extra man hours to finally finish the job. Much to our relief, C&C Myers followed through with a successful result--our upstairs has never felt better! It's been a month and there has been no further issues. We eventually were working with Tim Myers himself, but we really can't say enough about how great his entire staff has been. Both his technicians and schedulers have been nothing but professional and understanding of our plight...we were quite impressed. If you have any questions about my experience with C&C Myers, please contact me at [email protected]. Sincerely, J. Terry, Mount Pleasant, SC

Yesterday my AC quit working. I did some in-house trouble shooting and determined it was the thermostat. I went to Lowe's and got a new one. Came home and installed it. The AC still didn't work so at 2 minutes to 6 PM I clled Myers Heating and Air. They said they had an after hour service, which surprised me because I was planning on setting up an appointment for the next day. The on-call technician called me back and after another call he was already on, he showed up at about 7:30. He asked all the right questions. We went to the thermostat which he checked out and l\reprogrammed correctly. This still did not fix the problem. It turns out my capacitor and transformer had burned up. He did the diagnostics and trouble shooting all in the rain and never complained. Thanks to Chris, the service technician, I had AC last night and what I consider a great experience.

Today I called Myers to schedule an appointment to service a tankless water heater. The person who answered for Myers put me on hold for a while after telling me that she needed to check something, then got back on the line telling me that Myers no longer performs this service. After I insisted that I be able to speak with the owner since I knew that Myers offered in the past this service I came to learn that Myers still provides this service I was told that it does provide this service but that I had been blacklisted because of a prior situation in which Myers had agreed to a full refund because of how Myers had handled it. Blacklisted even though I had been given a full refund? Very odd.

I live out of town and have a rental property in Charleston. The tenants contacted me on a Saturday and said their AC was not working. I called this company and specifically told them to contact me before any repairs were made. However this did not happen. The man who made the repairs spoke with me and acted like he had not fixed it when in fact he had. My tenant called to inform me of this because she was upset with his dishonesty. When the company called to bill me I informed them of what happened. They said they would speak with their manager and get back to me. Here we are almost two months after the service and I receive a call from them. They ask me what happened again and said it was a case of he said she said. They offered to take money off of the bill or come out and take the part off that they put on the unit. The manager said he had met with his employees regarding the issue of fixing things before asking permission to fix. He did not address the issue of this persons dishonesty. Which leads me to question the integrity of the company. He also kept saying he was ranked number one in customer service.
