Buyers beware! I called and scheduled an appointment to get a FREE estimate for a repair. The receptionist scheduled a tech to come out on Wednesday at 2pm. Waited until 5pm and I called to cancel because we had another appt. They rescheduled for Friday at 2pm. I took the entire day off of work to be here for this appointment and when the tech showed up, he tells me there is a $125 service fee for coming out to look at the system.

Out of principle, I would not pay this fee because I was never informed that there would be a fee. In fact, when I called, I pressed the prompt that is specifically for..........receiving a FREE estimate!

After the tech left, I called the office to voice my disappointment and was informed that the girl who scheduled me is new and she should have informed me that there would be a fee.

I understand that a business has the right to charge a fee if they choose. In fact, I support it. But in this particular case, both me AND their own receptionist thought I was getting a free estimate.

The kick in the teeth is that I wasted 6 hours and a day off of work to find out that their employee made a mistake.

The tech was pleasant. The office staff were all pleasant. But the customer service philosophy is awful.

Despite what they advertised, not thr family company of 50 plus years ago. Bought a system from them in 2010 was very satisfied. Went back to them when system died and got a salesperson who was looking to offload their most expensive systems. We went with a rival who measured our house, knew what we needed and came in thoudands bel ow what C&C proposed. If you live in a McMansion C &C is for you. All others shop around!

Got a new Lennox AC installed by C&C in May 2019. Started to having issue (frost formed on the pipe of outdoor unit, ice on the indoor coil) last week just three years later. Called C&C on Sunday, tech came in on Tuesday, insisted my outdoor unit was dirty, needed to be cleaned (extra cost more than $500, on top of the $125 visit charge) in order to start to measure the pressure of refrigerant. We asked how much we may have to pay in order to get the AC back and running and he had no idea. We ended up just paid him the visit charge and found another firm to fix the AC.

Tech couldn't diagnose AC issue by himself, had to have a supervisor come. Issue was a short in the thermostat wire. Bill came to $643. This includes the $125 diagnostic fee (understandable) but another $478 to splice in 3 feet of thermostat wire (absolute robbery). They did the work before sharing how much it would be. And when they gave the price they made it seem like the diagnostic fee was included in that $478 instead of on top of. This is all in addition to the fact that they initially told me they'd be out last Saturday (already a 4 day wait), but then rescheduled my appointment for today because they couldn't get to me.

Update: Manager Michael called back. Talked over me and didn't listen to concerns. Made it seem like I just kept adding on issues, ""first it was this, now it's this..."" (when the reality is we had a handful of issues from the start). Said several times he takes calls all the time about people complaining about the bill after the fact - work was completed before we could tell them go ahead or don't go ahead with work. Michael vehemently defended the work, and made no attempt to make right this situation. They can keep the 1 star review, only because the air is actually working. The criminal way they run the business, however, we'll never use them again and suggest others don't as well.

I contacted several local plumbing contractors to get advice and cost estimates on a dual split ductless AC/Heat system. I am so glad that I chose C&C! Their analysis of my needs and broader recommendations perfectly fit my situation...and their pricing was very competitive. They provided a written quote, installation timeline and equipment review materials up front in a zero pressure presentation. Mike handled the quote write up and details after meeting. When accepted, C&C then obtained the needed permit, ordered equipment and scheduled an installation date. Right on time, Mike V. and Justin arrived and began the two day process. Always informing me of their work status, covering their shoes when working inside, keeping a clean work site and working diligently. Cheerful throughout the job. Great looking, very clean installation and thorough operation directions provided. It works GREAT. Our experience was GREAT. Highly recommended for Middlesex/Monmouth HVAC needs.

I was taken advantage of by C&C air heat & plumbing. They charged me $315 for parts & labor plus the service fee $125.00 total $448.28. It took a half hour to change a multi-turn straight valve which cost $11.85 & brass connector cost $6.98 on my toilet. I spoke to a manager Mike who was very rude. He spoke over me & said I wasn't listening & he had it. He said he didn't know how much each part cost & that the plumber was here 2 hours. He refused to listen to me & was very very nasty. Stay away from that business.

Tech spent half hour on the phone with TRANE manufacturer to help him diagnose the furnace issue. I was charged for that half hour. I called management stating, since the tech did not know how to diagnose the issue, his education should not be on my dime, but rather, on the dime of their company. Management refused to refund the half hour. When I hired C&C, I specifically asked for a tech who was well versed in knowledge of TRANE furnaces. Unfortunately, my request was not honored. Then, the price quoted to repair was nearly 50% more than what we actually paid another vendor to repair. I'm not into poor reviews but I felt to share my experience. The tech was courteous and he tried his best, so a good shout out to him! My issue is with the company, not the tech as it appears to be a lack of training which could be improved at the company level.
