Called on Friday night just before 8pm. Told them we needed our main line snaked. My husband had tried it with the manual snake, but couldn't get it clear. The person said they could have someone out between 8-12am. At 10pm, we received a call that they would not be able to come out until 11-12 on Saturday. I told them that was unacceptable, they told me someone would be out tonight and they needed to send someone out tonight. I have waited for 2 hours when I could have called someone else. She told me she would see what she could do, but she didn't think it was going to happen. Hung up with her and called Roto Rooter. Within 5 minutes they called and said someone was on the way. Should have called them first!

For decades I had periodic problems with sewer backups to the finished basement of our 1906 house. Numerous plumbers tried to diagnose and fix the problem, which is part stemmed from roots in the city sewer.
Finally I tried Catons. They used cameras to discover that there was a problem with the original sewer line. They built another sewer line and pump and I have had no problems since.
The basement had an expensive tile floor. They managed to minimize damage to the tiles and we were able to restore the floors to a perfect condition.
It was expensive, but worth it. The work was done reasonably quickly and in a professional manner. I wish I had contacted them first; it would have saved thousands of dollars in damage to furniture and equipment and many unpleasant hours cleaning up the mess

Had Catons do a mini bathroom remodel, in December 2010, which was basically replace the tub and tile around it, upgrade the plumbing and also replace the flushing mechanism in both toilets.

This December I noticed water damage in the downstairs wall, just below the tub, shortly after the tub would move when you were in it, the metal drain was rusted and there was a hump in the tub. I called and asked how long they guarantee their workmanship. The woman came back and said they don't replace tubs and had no record of work done at my address. She asked for an invoice number, which I couldn't find. I could have pursued the issue because I still have the cancelled checks (deposit and payment) but I really don't want these people back in my home. When the plumber was here for two days he took a dump in the toilet and never bothered to flush. Disgusting!

I wasted $3700 for crap work.

I had another company tear out all the previous work and do it right this time (which they agreed was not done the first time).

Not a company I would recommend to anyone!

From the service call this weekend for a leaking hot water heater... We were treated cordially and given the 1st appointment Monday am with a 10% discount for first time users... Jason arrived in am... Immediately diagnosed the problem, and advised what would be entailed for a replacement including upgrades required by code. Jason wrote out the estimate and I signed on... In addition to the water heater, he fixed a basement toilet and completed the tasks, cleaned up and went over the final bill with courtesy and a simple explanation. He also advised us of a need for a replacement cut-off valve which we opted to do at a later date. Job was well done, competitive in price and explained the warranty- I year labor and 6 years parts... Such a deal!!! 4

I had Bruce Jordon Jr come out to help with issues with a slow drip in my shower and my toilet. He came out to my home in Baltimore, MD. He was very knowledge and resolved both issues. Even though he couldn't get the part needed for my shower faucet, he gave me the necessary information to order the part. He left his information so I can call him when I receive the part for him to install. He also resolved the issue with my toilet and provided me with information to help prevent further issues. I would definitely do business with Caton's again.

The primary bathroom toilet overflowed due to a clog in the main, which I didn't know at the time and the second bath toilet overflowed as well. I asked for online quotes around mid-night and by 7:30am received one call of the four I names obtained and was in touch with a tech by 10am that same day. The tech accessed my problem on the phone pretty quickly and was at my home and went right to work within a couple of hours. He checked the drain outside the home first and then cleaned main in the basement and found what was causing the problem, then removed the primary toilet only to find another clog. Within a couple of hours my problems were resolved and we had toilets to use again! The price was reasonable and even had a water restoration tech out to the house to look at damage the same day. I was pleased overall with the service I received with Caton's Plumbing as their staff was courteous and professional in addressing my needs. I would go back again and recommend to anyone in need of plumbing services.

Catons responded very quickly to our call earlier this month. They sent Bruce Jordon, and he was able to diagnose our problem and fix it quickly and professionally. The price was reasonable. We have used Catons in the past for a different issue and found them to be responsive and reliable both times. We would recommend them highly.

Catons were very fast in coming out- same day. I asked for a garbage disposal and was quoted $450 on the phone. I then told her I had a $50 coupon. She told me to give it to the plumber. John arrived about 2 hours later and did a great job getting out a stubborn, rusted unit and replacing with a new. However, he told me the girl on the phone forgot the $68 diagnostic fee. Since I requested the new disposal, I didn't see any need for diagnostics. New total- $468 with the coupon. Good, fast, pleasant work; questionable price. I wasn't going to complain about $50 but next time, I'll ask more questions. Should have seen the deal here. It looked better. I'll use them again.

A day later--- Caton's just called to refund me the $68 diagnostic fee. What a great way to run a company . I'm impressed that they want customers to be satisfied by doing the right thing. They said they would refund the money even if I didn't add to my review. I will definitely be using them again. Thanks so much.

We used Catons for a couple large jobs several years ago and were pleased. But, the last 2 times we've had them out I did not feel they sent out skilled plumbers. We have a smell of sewage gas coming up through our utility sink in the basement. The first tech was a Journeyman Plumber, who I learned later is not supposed to go out on calls by himself. Journeyman are supposed to be accompanied by a Master Plumber. This guy didn't seem to have a clue as to what was the causing the smell and seemed to be making up things to tell me to appease me, such as, just dump a 5 gallon bucket of water down the sink everyday. I called the office and asked that they send out someone of better quality because I did not have any confidence in the skill of the first technician. The second technician came out and and wasn't any better. He walked into my unfinished basement and said, I smell it, it's your washing machine. You need to clean the tub of your front loader. He said this when he was 4 feet from my washer and the door was closed! When I asked him to bend down and smell the tub of my washer to see if it smelled like raw sewage he looked at me like I was crazy. I couldn't wait to get the guy out of my house! I will never call Catons again.

The plumber came and snaked the toilet after emptying the bowl in the back yard, which contained very little human waste. Charge @ $500. He said he couldn't give me a guarantee on the work because it seemed as if there was something obstructing the flow. The camera tech came in a few days and found that roots had grown into the sewage pipe. The next tech came by to give me three options for dealing with that condition ranging from $500 to $18,000.
