Slow, poor work, high cost. These guys are the ""emergency"" plumbers for our condo management. The clowns were called to fix flooding unit but couldn't turn water off - Howard County Fire Department did that. Once they found the problem they used washing machine as a tank to empty pipes causing another flood.
Replaced hot water heater in building. New one not hot enough to shower with until second trip to building.
Avoid this company. Useless and over priced.
Michelle S.Horrible. Called to have a gas dryer installed. I had to reschedule and added an additional service, moving a gas line two inches so my oven would fit flush to the wall. (Somehow the inspector on our home purchase missed this). Plumber came, told us it was 68/half hour and I had to pay for him to drive to Home Depot and pay 20% mark up o the materials AND that it would be at least 700 bucks to put the pipe in for my dryer. To go 10 feet across a cellar. So, he spent 40 minutes telling us this, then took 1 hour to drive to Home Depot and then do the stove job. I spent 400 bucks to move a line 2 inches and I got charged two hours of work for something that actually took about 40 minutes to do. I also got charged to turn off my gas main, turn it back on, turn on my pilot light and some mysterious diagnostic charge. Just horrible. Should have found a plumber to do a free estimate (my bad) but seriously. So disappointed. Will never, ever call again.
I had a tub clogged up at my rental property so I called Caton's . The tenant said they came out and quoted a higher price thinking it would require additional time. However, they came back and fixed the problem in less time than required and charged me $200 instead of the original $348 they quoted. The only issue was that I really didn't get to find out what the real problem was which caused the tub to overflow. I asked them to call me and tell me what the problem was but nobody did. They just unclogged it somehow. Luckily it's been working since but I would have appreciated a follow up call to describe what was done to fix it.
The plumber, Alphonso, who came to my home was wonderful. He was pleasant, informative, and efficient. I was extremely pleased with Catons Plumbing and will definitely use them again.
i first used Caton's to repair a toilet. the whole experience went absolutely smoothly. the repair person actually came early after calling first, no problem making an appointment. i asked Bruce to look at my sump pump while he was at my house as it had been running non stop. he told me that it was wearing out and that unfortunately when sump pumps fail basements flood. he advised me to buy a sump pump. he wrote down the specs . i bought it. called him back. again it went perfectly smoothly. he came on time installed the new pump. the next day it rained 5 inches. i was so glad that i had replaced the old one. in my experience catons is well run and professional. work is scheduled and done without angst and missed appointments
Called and spoke with a manager, price was reduced to $125, which is pretty reasonable. Still, kind of ridiculous I had to call and complain to get the price reduced.
They were on time and professional, but the pricing issue is enough that I won't use them again
JJ C.Called Caton plumbing to assist with two clogged toilets, thought the main needed to be cleaned. The plumber immediately went to the basement toilet and decided to snake out to the street, after pulling some roots to the tune of $390 dollars he then advised I needed another $390 dollars to snake the first floor toilet to the stack. He stated he would go through my shower to save time. 45 minutes later the short 20 ft run to the stack was still clogged my shower was covered in toilet waste water and he was taking apart his machine in my bathroom. (See pic)
Then stated the clog was to big and must be a rag so he needed to pull the toilet and use a bigger snake. Pulled my toilet and used the larger snake and then said the drain was frozen and he couldn't do anything about it? Shouldn't a certified plumber be able to discern this before ripping apart my bathroom. There was a piece of toilet tissue in my upstairs shower amidst the waste water now gurgling up into the stall and this BS artist states""looks like Cottonelle you should use Scott's instead."" Really, Really? Did he think I was born yesterday? He saw the bag of Cottonelle in the basement not from what he pulled from the soil stack
The tech, can't call him a plumber (that would be an insult) couldn't stop talking and never fixed the clog and left my bath a mess. Oh I forgot the ground outside is frozen and he wanted to throw the fecal water into my backyard? WTH? My neighbors would love a nice coating of sewage on top of the ice!!!! After his departure I found his trash gloves etc in my bathroom trash.
Bottom line, one toilet works, main clean, second bathroom trashed and inop. This was pathetic, I will NEVER call Caron plumbing agiain and you shouldn't either. $600 to snake the main.......ridiculous!
I called Caton's Plumbing based on a friend's referral, wow what a scam. The company is owned by Roto Rooter, one of the worst plumbing company around. They sent a technician to my home, he was on time, with a bad attitude. I asked him if he had a journeyman's license, his response did not have a direct yes or no. Then he looked at my plumbing problem, and I asked again about his journeyman's license, or his master license number, still no response! The work is finished, thank god it was nothing major. He gave me a business card just in case I needed more services taken care of. I did some investigating of my own; he has NO journeyman's card and is NOT a master plumber. So, who guarantees the work the Caton's technician provided if he is not licensed by the state. Beware- don't fall for the southern voice and charm.
All we wanted was our drain snaked. The total fee would have been $550.00 plus (including the $65.00 to roll the truck) for the charge for the snaking and ""video inspection"" that were one product. They would NOT clean our line without including the ""very important"" video of our pipe (which had a simple clog from a toilet). The hard sell was embarrassing as the guy walked out, continuing to try to convince my wife to buy their service after I blew them off. This company is interested in making money, not in providing a fairly priced service. Avoid, unless you have money to spend on useless services.
Alan V.Great job handling a big a sewer line repair. They kept us informed during the job, completed on time and at a reasonable price given the work needed.
