**Review: Avoid at All Costs - Irresponsible and Unaccountable**

I'm writing this review not out of anger, but out of deep disappointment and concern for others who might unknowingly trust this plumbing company with their property. A routine service--one they've been providing for years--resulted in severe water damage to a Millsboro home belonging to a 92-year-old resident. The damage is irreversible. Despite having a key to the property and phone call records confirming their access and involvement, the company has shown zero accountability for their failure.

What's even more disturbing is their complete disregard for the homeowner's well-being and their refusal to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. This wasn't a one-off miscommunication--it was a clear failure in service and a stunning lack of professionalism and integrity.

No one deserves to be left in this kind of situation, especially a senior citizen with limited options. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, and I strongly urge others to stay far away from this company before they become the next victim of such negligence.

Karma has a way of coming around--and when it does, I hope it reminds them of the people they've harmed by failing to do the right thing.

IF WE COULD GIVE 0 STARS WE WOULD!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!

My 90 year old grandmother trusted this plumbing company with our beach house for over 15 years, but our most recent experience was nothing short of devastating. We hired them to shut off our water before the off-season, as we've done every year, and they assured us it would be taken care of.

Unfortunately, they failed to do what they promised. Despite calling multiple times to follow up, nothing was done--and during that period, a pipe burst. The damage completely ruined our house. Decades of care and investment, destroyed in days because of their negligence.

What's most upsetting isn't just the mistake itself, but the lack of urgency and responsibility afterward. After so many years as loyal customers, we feel completely let down and ignored. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company, especially for something as critical as winterizing or shutting off water.

Our trust has been completely broken, and sadly, so has the home of our 90 year old grandmother's.

Not a fan anymore . Yes , I've been a customer several times and thought they were a good choice .... Until we had 5 inches of rain and they came out several times to "" check "" to see if our sump pump that THEY replaced was functioning because our basement flooded . We lost everything! Each time they came to check the pump , including their manager they really didn't find much . Blamed it on debris in the pit . Which btw they should have cleaned out when they replaced the pump then ???!!! Finally we decided to get another plumber to check the situation . Turns out the discharge pipe out back was broken . Took him two minutes to find . So 15,000 dollars in clean up and heart ache watching. 30 years of family memories hauled out from flood damage a two minute inspection from another plumber found something they never found . I'm not saying they caused it , I'll never know , but I think somewhere along the line there was a chance for someone to either prevent or find the real issue given the number of times they were here . Never again . The only positive is we have a great plumber now .

I recently had a plumbing issue that involved the sewage injector pump. It stopped working on a Sunday and needed to get it repaired immediately.

I called several plumbers in the area and no one responded except Harry Caswell. They were here within about 45 minutes. They did tell me what the emergency service charge would be over the phone, which I thought was outrageous but I agreed to it as I had to get it repaired.
The technician came out and did a wonderful job and had it repaired in about 20 minutes. My complaint is when I got the bill. The part that they needed to replace came in at close to $500.00 making my total bill a little less then $800. The same part costs less $100 at a local hardware store. This is nothing more then price gouging. Also when I went to pay the bill using a credit card they wanted to charge an additional 3.5%.
I really hate being ripped off. I will never use them again.

Our faucet was continuously running in our shower , so we called Caswell plumbing. They had a man come out to fix it, he replaced the cartridge in the hot water handle, left. (165$)
Later that day it started running again. We called them , they sent same man back he said we would have to replace the three handle facet with a single handle one and would need a plate to cover the holes. (350$ estimates)Two weeks later they sent another plumber out with the cover and single handle faucet. New plumber says the plate won't cover the holes and we need a three handle faucet. He would order one. New faucet arrived, installed after we moved furniture rugs etc. now faucet produces brown rust when turned on. New bill? 730.84$ not even close to 350$ and ugliest faucet I've ever seen.would not recommend

Our water stopped working on Mother's Day so we had to call for help. Caswell was the only company that would come right out but the emergency fee was crazy. The plumber that responded was incredibly nice and fixed it quickly the same day. The down side was that wasn't all that was wrong, so days later it failed again and this time Caswell, was too busy to get to us quickly so we went with a different company that had to replace the whole wager system and removed the new parts Caswell put in so we wasted our money

Scheduled to have a plumber come out this week. Caswell booked someone to come out between 12 - 4. I took off from work and waited until 3. I called Caswell and they confirmed someone would be here by 4. At 3:15 I received a call saying they have to reschedule. Of course, I said absolutely not!

Another example of the lower slower mentality in Sussex County! Do not recommend this company!

Harry Caswell and his employees are top-notch. About five years ago, neighbors who'd done a moderate amount of work in their condo recommended Caswell Plumbing when we needed a dishwasher hose replaced. Excellent job. Flash forward five years, and we needed a much more major job. Impressive, punctual, thorough, competent -- everything done as promised, and Caswell's estimate had come in a bit lower than another well-regarded contractor's estimate. Far superior to multiple plumbers we used in the DC area over several decades (recommendations from neighbors notwithstanding). Harry Caswell knows the rules and regulations in this area, and in fact is main contractor used by City of Rehoboth Beach as he gets thing done efficiently and properly. Today when I called scheduler Heather, who's great, she fit us in within a few hours. The plumber who arrived did an excellent job, and was accompanied by another plumber. Turned out this was not a ""helper"" as only one person was required, but a gentleman who worked in NJ as plumber, but recently moved here (due to wife's job change). Harry Caswell is having his own experienced plumber train him a bit. Instills confidence at every turn. Reasonable, very fair rates.
