I needed someone to replace the temperature valve (gas valve) on my Bradford White water heater. Castle Works sent out a technician by the name of Mario. I initially wanted to spell out everything that occurred but I believe the length of this would get lost in translation and not get read. I have dealt with many companies but have never dealt with a company as shady as this one. The Cliff Notes version of this story is that the tech and the supervisor were less than honest, wanting to charge me initially $660, then $600, then $460 for something that would take (Per Mario the tech) 30 minutes to do. Oh and the part to be replaced was under warranty and so it would be free from the manufacturer (I did my homework on that one).
I would be happy to communicate with anyone that would like to know the entire story but as of now just know that Castle Works seems to be out for our money and gives all of the home services industry a bad name. I will never use and/or recommend this company to anyone. If you decide to use this company please be very wary.

Castleworks was able to help us out with our water heater (sensor) issue the very same day I called. I also appreciated the updates I received to narrow down the time our technician would be showing up so I wouldn't have to block off too many hours waiting. Scott Russon did a thorough and professional job and I'd highly recommend working with CW. Hopefully I won't need to anytime soon but I'd definitely call them again should the need arise.

My water heater got leaked and I called CastleWorks. They have very clear telephone messages telling me status of their technician and the technician showed up and explained what happened, giving me different options. Then they went in and replaced with a new one within a couple of hours. They even cleaned up my leaked water. Overall experience was so smooth. Very professional.

Huge thanks to Dan, Christian and the CastleWorks team who did an excellent job helping us replace two old gas water heaters with an electric heat pump water heater (HPWH). We had a tricky job at our 100+ year old house in San Bruno requiring re-plumbing to combine two separate hot water systems, and some serious thinking about where to locate the new HPWH. Together we came up with a novel solution, installing a SanCO2 outdoor split system, only the fifth they had installed in the Bay Area. This was an excellent fit for our needs, and freed up some closet space indoors!

They coordinated their plumbing team and partner electrician flawlessly to install a 240v line for the new unit. They were also great partners in navigating all the local clean energy loan and rebate programs (CastleWorks are a BayRen contractor making installations with them eligible for extra rebates - you can also check these out at the Rewiring America site https://www.rewiringamerica.org).

We look forward to working with the team again!

So. I called castle works because we were having trouble with the hot water tank. My technician was nice enough. But the company sucks. So they charge a 99 dollars to drive to your house. 179 dollars for a diagnostic. Then another fee for whatever repairs need to be made. So the unit needed to be vacuumed and its their policy to replace the pressure valve whenever they have to work with the unit. So to Sum it up to vacuum around the unit and replace a pressure valve comes to a grand total of 390 dollars plus tax. I will not be calling them again.
