T H.Great Service
I use Old Republic Home Warranty and they sent 7 different plumbers out to my house. The eighth plumber was Gus from Castle Plumbing. Gus was able to fix the problem and improve our overall plumbing in the house. He went the extra mile to get the job done and we appreciate it. Thank You Gus
Rex A.When I bought my townhouse 20+ years ago, I soon after had to replace the hot water tank. At that time it was with a home warrantee co. There was a label on it that said Castle Plumbing, so I called. I spoke with Gus. I informed him that I no longer had the warrantee, but that the tank was leaking ( it had worked probably 22-23 years). We scheduled time the next day. Gus arrived when he said he would. He was able to remove that old 50gal. tank himself, and in about 1.5 hr. I had a brand new & more energy efficient 50 gal tank completely installed. He hauled the old tank away. I am very happy and have no complaints. Thanks, Gus, Lori
A T.I do not understand the bad reviews written prior. Gus fixed a problem that 2 other plumbers could not fix. It was a call via a warranty, he called me within 24 hours for the appointment, came on time and solved our concerns! He also gave us a receipt without even asking, proof of professionalism. I will definitely request him again if we have another issue. Thank you!
Jo T.Our service call was for our leaking laundry sink. We called our home warranty company back and had them send out a new plumber since the first plumber went MIA on us. Gus called and asked if he can be there in an hour. He came and changed our faucet on the spot. He was very nice, courteous and efficient. He was there for about 30 minutes and now I have a beautiful new faucet, and I can use my laundry sink again!! Thanks Gus!
Billy M.I was debating whether or not to leave a bad review, because Gus is actually very nice. However after consideration, I feel it is constructive to offer my negative experience.
First off, I didn't pick Castle Plumbing, my Home Warranty repair dispatched him out to me. I let him know ahead of time that my problem was with my toilet bowl not completely flushing. He used his snake to go down the pipe but didn't find any clog and said there is nothing more he can do. I tried to ask him if there would be any other possible explanation for my problem and he didn't have any and just said my problem isn't really an issue. I took him at his word because he is the professional.
Afterwards, I went to google and did a cursory search on my issue and found that the solution to my problem was to replace the flap in the tank. This is something I would expect a professional plumber to suspect based on the information and description I gave him.
tl;dr Gus is a nice guy and understands plumbing well, but he is not creative in his approach to solutions. He approaches plumbing problems as a one-size-fits-all, hammer in search of a nail.
Tyson L.This vendor should be zero star. It took them 3 days to schedule an appointment when we were suffering in sewer smell in the whole house. They only got 1 technician, a guy named Gus. He used only a 65-feet line, pretty short by the industry standard and demanded cash or check before service. After spending over $200, the sewer line was still clogged and the technician simply walked away without calling me because he was already paid. I had to pay another vendor to unclog the line. They got most of their business through warranty companies like HomeGuard, etc. I wonder if this business can survive on it own with this kind of customer service and mentality. Avoid this vendor as much as you can!!!
Ryan T.I had a home warranty repair and Gus was dispatched. Gus was professional and kept me well informed of what needed to be done. We were able to schedule, he came on time and got the job done. Please note that we had another plumber dispatched before it was transferred to Castle Plumbing, they were unable to do the job. Gus handled it.
I read a couple of the posts below, and in regards to the water heater since I recently had to have mine replaced from a home warranty (Different Plumber handled the ticket). Note the extra charges, the home warranty does not cover all the costs of the water heater replacements. There are charges for compliance that may not be covered by the home warranty. I also received the same info via mail from the home warranty stating not all fees will be covered. In the bigger picture I was happy to pay the compliance permit stuff versus paying out of pocket for the entire thing and the city inspector passed my installation. That knowledge to pass the inspection is what you're paying for. If the fees are not to your liking, request another plumber.
Back to the main point, Gus did a great job, professional, came on time and completed the job in a timely manner.
Fraud!! Be aware of Guz. My home warranty picked him for changing our water heater. He would charge you exorbitant fees for parts with insignificant cost. He took our old water heater out installed the new one and half way through quoted me $200 and threatened to leave things as it is if I didn't pay. Very very rude guy and highly unethical.
Stay away from these guys!! Worst plumbers ever. I opened a case with my home warranty for replacing my water heater and a guy named Guss came. They are a Rip off. He first installed new water heater and then quoted me $200 (out of pocket) for putting a simple tape on the vent and installing a pipe that costs $18. When I told him that these services are no where close to $200, he started taking the new heater out and said ""pay me or I am going to leave with the heater"" I was without hot water and had to pay $200 for nothing. The guy was rude and his justification for charging me $200 was - "" I have 7 kids and I gotta feed them"" STAY AWAY from these pricks is all I can say
Castle plumbing was randomly selected by FHNW as a provider for my first home warranty service call. Had couple plumbing issues in one service order. Gus and his helpers came out and fixed all three plumbing issues (snaking, leaks here and there) in under one hour. Efficient. Clearly knew what he was doing. Very impressed.
