Don't trust and don't hire Gilbert and his Castle Plumbers, Inc.!
The scope of work was: 1. Remove water heater; 2. Cut out drywall to be able to repair a broken pipe; 3. Cut the broken pipe and solder in a new piece of copper pipe; 4. Temporary connect the water heater; 5. After the drywall is repaired, come and reinstall the water heater on its old place.
Gilbert, the owner of Castle Plumbers, agreed to do the above scope of work for $575.00. He performed the steps 1 - 4, he promised to come and finish the work when called, and he got paid the full amount the first day. However, he hardly came after 10 days calling and then asked for additional $500.00 to reinstall the water heater on its old place. He heard that my insurance had paid me his invoice and demanded more money because, he said, the insurance would cover it and I should not care.
He said that the paid amount of $575.00 was for removal of the water heated on temporary place and for the broken pipe repair, although I clarified it three times with him, when I gave him my check and he even wrote in his invoice, that the work would include the water heater installation on its previous place. Since I was upset and didn't write him a new check on the additional $500.00, he said he didn't care what we agreed earlier, and left.
What kind of contractor Gilbert is?

So I called Gilbert this week and he came out today...turns out it was a simple adjustment that he took care of right away. He apologized for not getting back to me earlier and now my plumbing works perfectly!

A friend of mine referred Gilbert to me. He is good, friendly and affordable. He always gave me a call before he arrived. He works quickly and does a clean job.

Gilbert arrived to help us after our home warranty service call didn't work out. We would have been without hot water for 6 days if it wasn't for him.
He located a brand new water heater for us and installed it the next day. Thank you for being so helpful and kind. Choose Castle Plumbers first. They will treat you right!

The Owner Of Castle Plumbing He had recently sold and installed a New Garbage Disposer He brought over for this Elderly Woman, a few days later He was called back over too the house because the Disposer was leaking under the sink, he said He Guarantee's His work when He was over the first time. When he arrived he went straight into the kitchen with his little tool box got his wrench out gave the Pipe a half of a turn and it stopped leaking, then He walked out to His Plumbers Vehicle put His tool box and put it away, then He wrote something down on a paper and came back in the house, the Woman was glad He fixed the leak and was going to be generous and give Him a Twenty Dollar Bill doing it, knowing that She did not have too, He then had the nerve enough to hand the Elderly lady a Service Charge Bill for $95.00 for one minutes work, He was taking advantage of the kind Elderly Woman, The $95.00 was all the Cash Money She had left for the Month to live on with Her fixed income. There should of not been any service charges because He was all ready paid for doing the job, He said to the Lady that he had to charge the service charge for his time coming back over, What a Crooked Shyster, and a really Dishonest one at that. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND CASTLE PLUMBERS TOO ANYONE OR HIRE THEM AFTER FINDING OUT THIS! NO WAYJOSE.

Great service! Referred by a neighbor, I called Gilbert and he came out on a Saturday to repair my Plumbing issue, and charged a very fair rate, really good price, I thought i'd have to pay more. He referred me to a really great and professional company to fix my water damage too, and even came by a couple days later just to check how things were going with that, whaaat. Super cool, would recommend and my neighbors would too and they have been using him for years.

Called Gilbert at short notice and he was at my home in a few hours. Did a great job and the price was very fair. He was good company too.

So happy with the service - arrived early and even had an electric cord (missing from the brand new) for the garbage disposal. The price was fair. Would highly recommend.

I would not recommend this plumber as he was disturbingly aggressive and rude about getting paid. I had two bids to get a toilet replaced. I went ahead with Gilbert as I had used him once before on repairing a leak under my kitchen sink. Gilbert came to replace the toilet when I was out of the office to get some office supplies. I offered to come right back to the office to pay him but he said he would pick it up at another time. Twice I called him to say I could meet him to pay him a check but he said he didn't want to come as did not want to drive in traffic. I offered to pay by credit card or mail the check. He insisted on picking up the check though he would not agree to a time. He then texted and called me with aggressive, rude demands to be paid whenever I was not at the office. He accused me of trying not to pay him. It was bizarre and irrational. I offered again to send it in the mail. He just kept on demanding on meeting me. I was getting frightened at the mentally unstable way he was behaving and asked my husband to arrange it. Gilbert then screamed at my husband on the phone calling him a liar and saying that he was never going to get paid and that we were trying to get out of it. I had offered to meet him several times and each time he said no. At that point, I mailed him a check and did not want to see him in person again. I am concerned about this man's behavior and would never recommend him again. Beware and be careful as there is something very wrong with how hostile and mean we were treated for absolutely no reason at all.
I had several other jobs, three toilets to replace and a full plumbing repipe. My husband could not get a word in edgewise to Gilbert as he simply would not stop screaming. It is a shame because we really needed those other jobs done. But it is better to use a complete stranger than someone who would treat a customer with such unwarranted rage.
I am sorry for Gilbert (his nephew is a very nice guy and treated us very kindly though) and I hope that he learns some manners and to mind his horrible temper. It is a terrible way to do business and left me feeling very disturbed that I had him in my home or place of business since it is so bizarre.
