Jamie’s early life was steeped in plumbing, learning the trade from his father's small plumbing company. Jamie developed valuable plumbing skills early on. Upon graduating from plumbing trade school, he earned his license as a Master Plumber and Contractor. The business was started by his father in 1976 under the name Bob Carter Plumbing. In 1985, Jamie and his father incorporated as Carter Plumbing Inc.. Lisa joined the team in 1988 to support the growing plumbing business.

In 2003, they began the process of converting to a franchise with Ben Franklin Plumbing and One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning. The opportunity to sell their businesses to Clockworks Home Services came in 2006. Their time off for reflection was both rewarding and insightful. They longed to work together again and revive the family business, leading to the reopening of Carter's My Plumber. Now a Licensed Plumbing Contractor, their son Kelson continues the family legacy as the third generation in plumbing.

Carter's My Plumber fixed a leak in the main pipe connecting my house to the water meter. Phil and Ryder arrived on time, answered all my questions and got the job done efficiently. They dug up my plants in the affected area before digging down to the pipe, filled up the hole once done and cleaned up.
Pricing was competitive - I would definitely recommend this company for plumbing needs.

Job was hurried and rushed and it shows in the quality of the work. They are more expensive than the other plumbing companies. Plumber was very vague and provided bare minimum information about what he was doing and didn't offer any information or communicate about the details of the job without actually having to be prompted by me first. He didn't check to make sure everything was working after he finished before he left , I stopped him and made sure ""I"" checked, not ""him"" ...me. That right there shows the complete lack of care by the plumber. That was incredibly irresponsible and disrespectful of him to have such a lack of care and quality to the job he just did and to my house. It seemed as if he was clock watching and rushing to hurry up the job so he could hurry up and get off work. We're not talking about a massive repair going into the late evening time here folks. Also I was reassured by the lady who made the appointment that this would not happen because she would personally make sure he has no other jobs booked for the rest of the day so he doesn't rush to get the job done so that it gets done properly.....and guess what happened anyways...plumber rushed the job, poor quality of work , poor customer service, and poor attitude , with a big bill. First and last time using this company. But these trial and errors are necessary to find the good people and good companies ...this is just not one of them.

Good prompt service. I'm sure they do good work but paying $79 to receive an $800 quote for a bathroom faucet installation seems rediculous

Our company Triangle Engineering had a 2"" gate valve not operating correctly. Brandon was very helpful and knowledgeable helping us navigate between Citizen's and getting curb stop shut off to enable them to do the work. They did a fabulous job on that and then also setting up 2 inline water coolers in both our shops. Brandon and Jared both made sure everything was done to code and helped us get back up and going. We definitely highly recommend as they've done several jobs personally and professionally for us

We had a leaky water heater last year and called them to replace it, a family member recommended them. They replaced it for $2600 which I later learned was way more than we should have paid but they offered next day service. Fast forward 6 months and the unit is making a ticking noise. They return and said It is getting too hot because it isn't venting properly because the installer forgot to install the baffle in the flue. They fix it but not before trying to upsell us on a tankless unit. Fast forward a year They go to do the drain of the unit per our contract and tell me it's overheating again and after 3 visits again my only answer is to upgrade and pay anywhere between $1397 and $2850 more for a tank less or fan vent unit. Ironically our old unit was identical to this one but since they brought it to code (their words not mine) it hasn't vented properly. I'm getting a second opinion from the company we should have hired initially who told us they could have saved us $800 on the unit and install. Would NEVER use this company again. They charge exorbitant prices when they see you live in a nice home. Very dishonest company

Recently moved to Indianapolis and called Carter's (on a list of referrals from my realtor) on Saturday morning when it appeared that my water heater was spewing water on the wall and floor. A rep came on Monday, felt under the water heater, said the floor was wet and the water heater needed to be replaced. The cheapest option presented to me was $2,324 for a 50 gallon unit. The unit was installed and several hours later, water was again all over the floor. Carter's quickly sent a tech out and he said it was the HVAC spewing water. He said that his HVAC friend would call me the next morning, but no one called. Today, Johnson Heating Cooling Plumbing, determined that the line on the condensate pump had been cut and the pump and line needed to be replaced. Apparently, there was nothing wrong with the water heater and Carter's, without initially considering the water could have been coming from the HVAC, said that I needed a new water heater.

Very expensive but they got the job done and did prioritize me due to my water being completely out.

My first experience was ok. My sump pump stopped working, the technician recommend me to replace the entire system which they wanted 3k which was a high price. I said what is the mandatory things I need he said the main sump pump. I asked how much is that he 670 I said that's not bad let's do that. He then tried up charging me to a sump pump battery charging me almost 1100 for that and install. I said that's unreal high it's 100-200 to buy it and takes less than a couple minutes and showed him the prices so I declined that and did it myself.

My sump pump starts making a huge noise 2 weeks later so I call them up again they come out and said it's my backup pump needing replacing I said how much is that he said $3900. I said you guys are some con artist that's unreal high I said you just did the main which was more expensive for 670 and now you want me to do that I said I can call anyone else in town and would be under 1k. He then email me a quote later for 2900.

I texted the guy and asked how much he would charge for labor to do it he said around 500 or less then I asked him is this the part at Home Depot it was under 200 he said yes.

So a 700 bill that he wanted to charge 3900 I obviously didn't use them and I called up another company that quoted me 550 for materials and install.

This company is a scam and rip off they saw my house and thought they could rip me off.

When you're writing a review on a plumber, you know you've just spend some time and money that you would have rather spent elsewhere. But, if we had to, I'm glad it was Carter's we were able to call.

A month ago, our main sewer line decided to break on us and back up into our basement. Long story short, almost all the piping in our basement and out to the city line have been replaced by Carter's. We've worked with them several time and they've proven to be honest, fair and do great quality, quick work.

I hope we don't see another plumber for a VERY long time, but when we need one, we know who to call!

I had an issue with a water leak from the humidifier water line. After discovering that the main water line cut off did not completely cut off the water I went online and booked an appointment for the next day. I simply used a garden hose to reroute the leaking water line to my sump pump at a reduced flow because the main would reduce the water flow.

The technician arrived within the time specified I would called and told that they were 40 minutes away in route. The technician was professional friendly courteous nicely dressed. He discussed my options with me and I made a decision as to what repairs I wish to have done.

I am happy with the overall service customer wise and the work done and would definitely call Carter's my plumber for other needs
