Recommended Customer Reviews

Rather skeptical after reading reviews, but it was the company assigned by AHS, so I was stuck. Though the gentleman was late with no call, he promptly and efficiently cleared my garbage disposal without having to replace it. I could have had a new one, but as long as it works, this one is perfect. Kudos to Carter Plumbing. Improve the phone support, keep customers in the loop, and ratings should go up as the skill was great.

I was really nervous about this company because of all of the negative reviews. Like many other people, I have AHS and so I ""had"" to use Carter Plumbing when my toilet began to leak. Carlos, the plumber, showed up within the time frame on a Saturday and quickly fixed the problem. He was very professional and, as an added bonus, had a pleasant personality. When he had to remove the toilet to fix the flange beneath it he asked if I had any cleaning supplies that he could use to go ahead and disinfect the area for me. He spent 20+ minutes cleaning all the ick that had gathered over the years. I doubt that was in his job description. I was very impressed.

Assigned through Fidelity Home Warranty. Sept-2013, no real problem, assessed and fixed the problem. However, the tech walked on my white carpet without booties, and left a moderate mess in the tub and bathroom. I had to wash the bath rugs that he could have easily moved instead of tracking on them, and scour the tub. Fast forward 10/29/13, same tech shows up unannounced, no prior call, to assess current water heater issue. He rudely made an assumption as to my marital status, totally inappropriate. Also, when I asked if the $60 payment/deductible would go towards entire job, he curtly replied, ""no, that just for me knocking on your door."" Carter's customer service needs a huge improvement.

I just want to relieve some anxiety for those who have American Home Shield (AHS) and don't have much choice.
My kitchen sink started to leak yesterday. I called AHS this morning and was told that Carter Plumbing would handle the job.
I didn't hear from Carter Plumbing after an hour. I decided to call them myself (at 10am). I was on hold for about 15 minutes. A lady answered the phone. She was very cordial. She initially offered me an appointment for the following morning. I said that the situation was urgent... I got an 11am-3pm time slot for today.
Having read all the terrible reviews, I expected to see someone late in the afternoon. To my surprise, the technician showed up at my house at 11:30am. He was very nice. He diagnosed my problem as a broken/leaking garbage disposal. He replaced it with a new one. I paid $75. I asked him how much it would have cost if I didn't go through AHS. He said that it would have cost $225. He finished the job in about 15 minutes.
So far, my wife and I are happy with the job. I will post a follow up if something unexpected happens.

Carter Plumbing SUCKS ! I had an appointment with them. I took the afternoon off work to wait for the repairman. NO SHOW ! NO CALL ! I then looked them up on the internet & read their blogs. 90% of the blogs rated Carter Plumbing with the lowest rating possible . Evidently NO SHOW's are very common for Carter Plumbing. This company should NOT be in business.

I have read all the reviews and was very concerned about having a plumber come out to fix my garbage disposal through AMS. To my surprise, Randy, the owner came out and replaced the garbage disposal as it was leaking. He was on time, professional
and I could tell he was very experienced. I told him about the Yelp reviews and I am wondering if the people who wrote the negative reviews, is this the same Carter Plumbing as there are three of them in the Sacramento/Roseville Area?
I am very pleased with Carter plumbing carterplumbing.net'

This company LIED about contacting me. I have a Fidelity Home Warranty an at 1:25 pm on Sunday, August 18th I called in a claim for a water heater where the pilot light was out and would not relight. They promised to RUSH the repair! They promised to call me this afternoon and CARTER PLUMBING did not call me. When I called the warranty company they called Carter and someone claimed they called me. Let me tell you that without hot water I haven't showered so I was siting for this call.
I called the warranty company again and the earliest they can come out is between 10 am and 2 pm on Monday, August 19, 2013. Not a good way to start the business relationship. The plumber lied and now after reading their other ratings I don't trust them.

This company does not even deserve a single star.
I had an appointment between 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Finally, at 1 o'clock, after waiting 5 hours, I called Carter Plumbing to let them know that no one showed up. I had somewhere to be and could not wait any longer for them.
I received a bill for $60.00 from them, and had to pay. They later told me that because the technician was in transit to my house that I would have to pay.
You would think that they would have told me this over the phone, yet they did not.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. Not only do they not show up, they still charge you!

I have to say, I was very concerned when I read the reviews about this company. But since they were assigned by the home insurance company, I felt I had no choice and I didn't want to take any chance with another plumbing company and pay more than my co-pay.
Well, I'm happy to report that this company exceeded my expectations. The plumber, Carlos showed up on time, around 945 in the morning. He was able to unclog the pipes underneath my sink and clear out the debris from the garbage disposal. He even did a leak test to check if my plumbing had any leaks. He was very corteous and professional. Best of all, I only had to fork out the $60 co-pay.
I'm clueless when it comes to plumbing and he could've easily invented issues to make me part with my hard earned cash. But he was straight to the point, found the problem and fixed it. I highly recommend this company to anyone. Ask for Carlos.

Terrible logic. Service call ahead of time was appreciated and service tech Andy was suitable. However to bring a $100- faucet into my home to replace the one previously is lacking common sense. In fact, the design/finish/style are not even the same. There is a difference between a brushed steel, high arch faucet and a low level chrome finish. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
