I got these guys send out to my home from the American Home Shield. To make it nice and simple. HORRIBLE SERVICE. RUDE, UNPROFFESSIONAL, UNRELAIABLE. I got further damage in my home because they left to ""get tools"" and never came back. and the fun part? Ii still had to pay a service fee for NOTHING. Businesses like this should be outlawed.

STAY AWAY. Unfortunately I was stuck with this terrible company because of my home warranty company, American Home Shield. I too advised AHS of the terrible reviews both on Yelp as well as the number of complaints on the BBB. AHS could care less. Bottom line, if you're stuck with Carter, my sympathies. Talk about poor service as well as RIPOFF on their pricing. They try to get you for everything they can.

Consider yourself lucky if they even show up. I was assigned to them from AHS. They scheduled a 5 hour window and did not show up TWICE! Don't waste your time.

Ok, like most reviewers I was extremely nervous about Carter plumbing as the assigned plumbers from fidelity home warranty, and even tried to call back after I read the yelp reviews and get a different company. The chick at fidelity somewhat rudely dismissed the validity of yelp reviewers and said they choose companies based on the feedback from their customers, she was quiet when I brought up the f rating from the bbb. But since I have a optimistic nature I agreed to give carter a try.
I was waiting for my 8-12 window period and at 11:50 called carter and asked if the plumber would be arriving in the next few minutes, after a few minutes on hold she came back to explain that yes he would be here but she didn't know when he would arrive. I was immediately thinking strike one, but was afraid to call back and cancel because of the other reviewer that said she still had to pay because the plumber was in route, so I let her know I had to be somewhere at 1pm.
Well 15 min later, john m came to my house and looked slightly annoyed, I thought great this guy probably is overbooked and had to rush over and probably didn't even get his lunch yet.
However after a few minutes he took care of one of the problems and explained to me in detail how he would request more work to be done.
I don't want to write a novel here, so the short of it is John M is a patient thorough plumber that did everything correctly, but the office severely has communication problems with their plumbers, when one of the requests was approved I asked the lady that called what work was going to be done and she had no idea and did not know about my other work request that I'm still crossing my fingers on. The four stars are for John, I think the company needs to examine there serious communication problems and support there employees if they want to change there terrible rep.
Update: I was able to have Carter plumbing communicate with my home warranty to approve a new water heater, but since I expressed doubt with carters, Fidelity allowed me a credit instead of giving that credit to Carter for the installation of a new water heater. I used a great plumber that I have used from yelp and was only out of pocket$50, while the crooks at carters told me I had to pay $450 after their cut from the home warranty company, this might be able to show people that are forced to use this company to use the credit and shop around!

DO NOT CAL THEM!! One of the worst plumbing contractors in the area! They were referred from my home warranty company to repair a kitchen faucet. The plumber, Randy, came to the house and had a very rude, negative attitude right as he entered the home. The attitude continued as I was explaining the problem with our faucet. I stopped to ask him if there was a problem or if he just didn't want to do the job, he got very nasty and left the house, slamming our screen door as he left. I called the office to file a complaint and no one returned my call. DON'T DO BUSINESS with Carter Plumbing!!!

As the other reviewers stated...a waste of time and money. I too was referred twice to them by American Home Shield. I would not pay this worthless company to screw in a garden hose.
Scenario#1: I had a leaky value coming out of my kitchen wall. Plummer looked at it and said 'the home warranty is not going to cover that"" I asked him if he thought an Ice Maker could be plumed to this line. He told me he could basically do the work under the table on the weekend for 60.00
Scenario #2: 6 yrs. later...once again American home shield warranty work for a clogged kitchen sink and leaky pipe under kitchen sink. I love the 5 hr window they give? Seriously who has 5 hrs in a day to be at the beckon call of plumber? The guy comes out uses his cell phone as a flash light and says the whole pipe work under the sink needs to be redone. It worked before??
He then proceeds to call the insurance company and tell then the same thing. Well, the way he spoke to the company apparently they decided not to cover the repair. I bought the house this way? Then he proceeds to say it could be between 600 to 1000 to redo.
Well what about my clogged drain? Apparently (after my wife called) AH stated they would cover the snaking of the drain and told the plumber the same. The SOB told me that they would not cover the snaking nor the repair because of a piece of JB weld (which I did not install). I would agree that this crappy company is taking advantage of people with Ah home warranty. REQUEST a different pluming company. I would never again deal with them. I never write reviews. But after a week of not having a kitchen sink it's very frustrating.

This guy Jamil showed up on our door without calling ahead of time. Took a picture of the installation problem under our sink and showed it to my husband and told him to go to Home Depot to buy the parts and look it up on Youtube on how to install it. When I asked him why he can't do it he said I'm not sure if it's part of our home warranty. When I suggested if I can go online and check if it's covered, he said it's better if I call and talk to a live person. But he said it's Sunday so there's no one who can answer my question. I insisted I'll check online so I don't have to call back again and get another service request and pay another $75. He said it doesn't matter because he doesn't have the parts anyways. ??? This is the 2nd service request because the other guy ""Randy"" refused to do this installation problem before coz he said it was not on his work order when I called for a clogged up kitchen sink. And somehow, enenrhough this is related to that problem, he made it appear I need a,second service request call. Only to be told ""your husband can do it himself!"" . Very unacceptable. Reading the reviews here on Yelp American Home Shield should not be using this vendor. Total waste of time and money!

Carter Plumbing is horrible! Horrible communication. They don't call you back to schedule an appointment when they say they will. Ladies in the call center are very rude! They don't show up when they say they will. Super frustrating to try to get a plumbing issue fixed with this company. I only used them as they were the company that my home warranty (AHS) called out to deal with my problem. I would never use them again!!

If I could give negative stars I would. Where do I begin, our insurance company AHS sent us to this company a year ago on our rental house and they did such a poor job that we had to hire, out of pocket, a second plumber to complete the job. Their worker wouldn't show up until 9 or 10 in the morning, zero communication and and left us hanging. Now a year later we have our water heater in our home go out and AHS once again sends us to Carter Plumbing. I'm open minded and figure what the heck maybe last year was just bad timing. Nope, first day they don't show up and I call them I am told it's my wife fault for not getting back to them to which I can show them the exact minute she called them back and left a message. AHS when I called for a new plumber also listed to Carter and blamed my wife so they set up a service call for the next day. They clearly stated that they would call 30 minutes ahead of time, SHOCK, no call and I get home to find a note on my door saying I missed them. Silly me, I call their office and the lady says they did call. I read my number off to them and she says, Well I see two number on the ticket. He must have called the other number. My question to her was, why wouldn't he call both numbers on ticket. I get silence like its being processed in her head. LOOOOONNNNGGGG pause and I get "" I don't know"". WOW, I called AHS and said I would rather pay out of pocket for a new water heater than deal with Carter Plumbing. New company coming tomorrow. I have never written a review like this but felt it's my duty to let you know before you pull your hair out too.

RATING: 000000000000, but not an option on YELP. This entire team is a bunch of losers. I had AHS and they routed my broken water heater repair call to this company. The woman who called on Monday to schedule the appointment was grouchy, grumpy, rude and obnoxious (and these are the cleaned up version of my volcabulary). The tech showed up in the allotted 4 hour time frame, inspected my water heater and said it needed to be replaced. Then he went on to say that AHS was only going to replace the water heater and that I would need to pull permits, schedule the inspector, have a new quick disconnect electrical box installed, potentially have to build a platform to have my electric water heater installed off the floor and that I was missing the cement pole in front of the water heater. Ok, so I am completely freaked out by now, seeing $$$$$ go right out the garage door. Tech said he would go back to the office, call AHS for authorization and they would call me later the same day (Tuesday). No call on Tuesday afternoon, no call on Wednesday morning, no call Wednesday afternoon. Called AHS and they indicated there had been no communication between Carter Plbg and AHS. WTH??? I have a broken water heater, no hot water and they hadn't placed the authorization call. I canceled the open service request, had a real plumbing company come out and install the water heater and called it done (to the tune of $900.00). Needless to say, AHS isn't standing behind their warranty, won't reimburse me even though they are in breach of contract, they didn't seem surprised by the lack of communication from Carter, but were completely caught off guard when I canceled my 15+ year policy. Good Riddance AHS and I hope Carter Plumbing goes down the tubes for good, since they are already dragging on the bottom of the pile (BBB Rating = F). Don't use this company and if AHS says they are the choice, ask for a different plumbing company. You will be sorry if you get stuck with this team of clowns.
