I was given Carter Plumbing's number through my home warranty co. in October. They came out looked at the shower and said they needed to order parts and never returned or called. When I made attempts to get them back out they took my number then did not call back. When I called back the last time the told me they could not find the valve. So I found the part and called them back they took my no. again and again no call back. I contacted them a final time and told them they had committed fraud by collecting from my home warranty company and not completing the work they were paid to do. I was hung up on. So I called my home warranty company and they contacted Carter Plumbing and were flat out lied to given a completely bogus excuse as to why they did not complete the job. SO I am paying another 75 dollars to have a different company come out to do the work they did not complete months ago.

I had a bad experience with this plumbing company. I had a bad feeling from the start. The person scheduling the appointment was not very helpful and didn't sound very happy to have my business. We scheduled the appointment for a four hour window. The technician never showed up. He called after the appointment time and I missed his call. When I called him back I received no apology and he refused to meet with me because I missed his call. He was rude and essentially made it my fault that he wasn't coming to fix my plumbing problem. I called twice to attempt to reschedule. The call went to voicemail both times and they never called me back. I believe that Carter Plumbing is operating under a different name with the home warranty company, probably because they have such a bad reputation. Let's just say that I would rather live in a cave with a chamberpot than have them fix my plumbing.

By far one of the worst company's I've had to deal with. Our home warranty dispatched Carter Plumbing because we were having issues with our hot water heater. A technician came out and checked our hot water heater and noticed it was under warranty still...ok good. He said he would contact Kenmore and either get a tech sent or parts. A week went by and we never heard from Carter Plumbing. We called them and the receptionist acted like she had never heard of us and didn't know what we were talking about so we had to talk with a manager. They told us that because it's under warranty there was nothing they could do.....so next step long story short we weren't the original owners of the warranty and it doesn't transfer so Carter Plumbing can work on the water heater.....great news. We contact Carter Plumbing again and they ""order"" the parts. So a week has already passed by this point.....3-4 WEEKS later we contact them again because they have not called or let us know anything that they have the parts and scheduled an appointment. They came out Tuesday 12/15 and replaced a simple thermostat. Great, maybe we will have hot water for longer than 5 minutes now. Water tested warm/hot and it seemed good. Went to take a shower that night and there was zero hot water and the hot water heater acted like it wasn't even on! Seriously over a month to fix a hot water heater and it still wasn't fixed. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. Terrible customer service and terrible technicians.

THE WORST. It seems like without warranty companies assigning Carter they wouldn't get business. We had a leak in our laundry room where the washer/dryer was hooked up. A family friend fixed the leak in the pipes, but we had a cracked box so Carter was supposed to replace the box. Jamil was our plumber and he was horrible at communication. We had to follow up with the warranty company and Carter to see if the box was approved to be covered. Once that was approved Carter was scheduled to come out. Jamil came, assessed, left. Next time, after staying home a few hours in, due to the 4 hour window they provide, I received a call from Jamil saying he couldn't find the right size box and it would have to be special ordered. In fact he asked me to provide him the measurements (why didn't you get all the info when you came to check it out the first time?). I received a call the following week to schedule. Same situation, waited at home, a few hours in, I received a call from Jamil saying the part wasn't in and he had no idea why the office was scheduling me. This happened ANOTHER time. FINALLY, 1 month later, the part was in and Jamil came 2 hours after the alloted window. I stayed home all morning 8-12 and Jamil came at 1:45. I had to call the office repeatedly to confirm whether he was actually coming. He comes, cuts the pipes, turns out... the box is not right either!! He leaves, takes our box, tells me he knows exactly where to go and get it (why wouldn't he get it the first time!!!). No word for over a week so we call Carter back and Jamil is saying we need carpentry work and they can't complete the job without it. I call the warranty company, they haven't received any paperwork from Carter so they can't proceed with a recommendation. I call Carter back, ask them if they've submitted, the lady has no idea and has to call back since the auth lady isn't in for a few hours. No call. I call back. You get the picture. Oh yea, I also asked to speak with a manager at Carter, the lady says she will page Randy the owner. He never calls. I call the warranty company insist that we get a second opinion. First conversation with new plumber - Plumbinator - ALREADY waaaaay better. They come and check it out and say this is a standard box replacement, no problem. In fact when they call to schedule they actually provide recommendations on a BETTER solution to prevent us from having to cut into our drywall for future leaks. We have been without washer/dryer for OVER A MONTH!!!

I am pleasantly suprised by the service I received today. After reading all the reviews on Yelp, I was concerned about having this company come out. We have a home warranty through American Home Shield and had a leak in our shower. I contacted AHS and they assigned Carter Plumbing to come out.
I was contacted promptly by a woman from Carter Plumbing (she did not give her name) and scheduled for an appointment within 48 hours.
Randy came within the scheduled time and repaired our shower quickly.
After reading the reviews, it seems like they should be reviewing their warranty company and policy, not Carter Plumbing.

Don't work with these people!!!!! The guy who came out to the house was nice enough so I hoped that all the reviews were untrue. I can say confidently that all the reviews are true. They took the 60 dollars I was required to pay by the insurance company, wrote an estimate and they proceeded to not answer their phone and drag their feet on getting the repair done...all the while we had no water at all in our house. They finally called back a week later...by that time we had already engaged Boyd PLUMBING...they came out and got the job done in two days.
The people in their office are rude, ineffective and don't care at all about their customers. Even if your home warranty company asks you to work with these guys don't waste your money. Run the other way.

So I really disagree with the over all rates below. Jamil came to my house - he was polite, knowledgeable, honest, and did the job in a timely manner. I am under a home warranty company as well. My only concern is really with the office who needs to be more customer friendly.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!! It is no surprise they are contracted with home warranty companies. They rarely answer their phone and they do not return phone calls. When you do manage to get an appointment they don't show up!!! If you have a choice in who your plumber is DO NOT CHOOSE THEM!!!!!

AVOID CARTER PLUMBING, THEY ARE HORRIBLE, RUDE, and LIARS! Our home warranty company contracted with them to come and fix our water heater. They did not show up on the day they were scheduled. A technician showed up the day after he was supposed to and said he needed to order a part that would arrive in 2-4 days. I called the company to get the tracking number to make sure I was home when the part arrived. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful. She said she would call me back, but never did. Over the next 2 weeks I called and left over 10 messages, and Carter Plumbing NEVER called me back. Apparently they told my home warranty company that the part was on back order. They lied! We ended up calling the water heater manufacturer to find out how long the part was on back order. They informed me that Carter Plumbing NEVER ORDERED THE PART and that it wasn't on back order! We had been waiting for 2 weeks, without hot water, for nothing! Luckily the manufacturer shipped us the part and my husband was able to fix it himself. Thanks for NOTHING Carter Plumbing!!!!! 2 thumbs down!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! We were referred by our home warranty company. From the first contact, we had nothing but problems with the two women at the office who scheduled and authorized work. They scheduled a service appointment for Sunday between 10-3 and the technician showed up on Friday. A follow up appointment was scheduled for Tuesday between 10-3, yet nobody showed. Throughout the week, we called the company 5 times and left messages that were all unreturned. When talking to the women at the office, they were rude and indifferent. After a week of unresponsiveness and no work, we cancelled the work order with our warranty company. The one positive aspect of this company is their service technician John. He was extremely professional and very responsive, even returning phone calls after hours to update us on the status of the repair. However, what he could do or not do was dependent on authorization from the front office owners/representatives. At the end, we found another plumber who completed the water heater replacement within 12 hours of calling them at a price that was $400 less than the amount quoted by Carter. CARTER PLUMBING HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PART OF THE WOMEN AT THE FRONT OFFICE WHO SCHEDULE WORK.
