I'm reviewing this business even though I didn't end up hiring them. For that reason, if Yelp decides to delete this review, I'll understand.

My one experience with this business was a phone conversation. It was, in fact, one of the strangest conversations I've ever had in my life. The man was consistently argumentative from the moment we started to talk. I gave him clear details about the problem and how it happened, and yet he seemed to think I was withholding information. (The toilet clogged because I flushed some food, and then the snake I used on the toilet became stuck inside the toilet, which apparently has a slender drain or ""trap"".) He started asking me questions like, what did I expect him to do about it? If I couldn't pull the snake out, why did I think that HE could pull it out? I ended up having to state the obvious: ""You have more experience than I do, so I assume you will know how to proceed."" I mean, this is why people like me call a plumber, because we don't have enough knowledge to fix the problem, right?

When I first started talking to him, I told him what street I was on. After talking for a bit, he wanted to know what my street number was, as if knowing my street number would give him any useful information about my toilet. But after so much argumentative and hostile behavior from this guy, I wouldn't tell him, and that ended the conversation.

Later, my landlord came by and quickly managed to get the snake out of the toilet, and then called his own plumber who came the next day and fixed the problem very quickly.

I'm posting this review as a warning. People need to know that there is a very hostile guy working at this firm. You should proceed with caution.

(Maybe the guy was hostile because I called him Sunday evening. That's the only reason I can think of.)

If you like being screamed at with obscenities by a plumber you have talked to for 30 seconds, then Carter Plumbing and Heating is for you. I simply called to get someone to fix my leaky faucet. I was informed that he would not bring two of his worked over at $250 unless I would buy a new faucet. I asked if he ""did jobs and fixed plumbing "" because I didn't know I'd have to purchase an entire new faucet when I bought the one I have one month ago.
I don't know exactly why he starTed screaming but to say the least his people skills and customer service are deplorable. Stay away! I would not recommend this plumber to ANYONE.

Carter Plumbing and Heating was very knowledgeable as well as reasonable. The owner does hos own work and answers the phone. He responds promptly to the call for service and he does a great job.
I picked his company from looking at Yelp and if figure he should get a great review for doing a great job!! Would definitely recommend.
