Paxton came to the rescue! He squeezed us in same day and fixed our toilet. He came on time and got the job done without any issues. He carefully asked for my consent before charging us any money which we really appreciated. Hopefully I won't need a plumber too often but when I do I will call Paxton.

Paxton's local to my area and I've been able to use his service on a couple of commercial projects. His prices are fair, not the cheapest but he's not trying to rip you off either, I can understand that he needs to make a profit. You have to allow guys like him to make it worth their while otherwise you wouldn't have quality plumbers anymore. Needless to say each time I've hired him it was done right and on time. That's the whole battle with contractors these days...

Let me be clear and elaborate on yesterday's post:

Me: ""Chris said you match his old LA rate of $80/hr, that still accurate? And my name is ----, location is Playa Vista""

Paxton: ""I don't work by the hour. I look at the job and give you the numbers""

The reality - My wife was home when Paxton arrived (not me), and for 15 minutes of ""looking at the job and giving your numbers"", Paxton tried to charge her $115, and when I called him out on this, he admitted that he hadn't shared with me his $98 price and then dropped the amount. He squeezed my wife, who was home with our newborn twins, into paying.

Yes, he helped with the hair removal, but without quoting her (or saying what he intended on doing) he just dropped under the sink and started working. Same with the shower handle situation.

I'm all about paying experts fair prices. But this was supposed to be an estimate as I have another plumber coming to check out the issues as well. Paxton flipped it into work right then and there...and that's where I have the problem.

Update (Sunday 6/5/16) - The shower handle started to come loose again.

If i could give zero stars i would. I don't understand all the good reviews. Our condo had a block in the main line and someone came out to fix it. When it occured again the next week, we called them out again to either snake the main line again or diagnosis if we needed a more serious procedure dobe. The guy first tried to say that it wasnt covered under a warranty (not true) and after some arguing he finally came out and grumbled his way through another snaking which took care of the issue. He was rude to everyone and the funny thing was, he kept talking about all the residents as if we wrnt going to discuss and find out that he was talking about everyone! Worst service and dishonest.

This my go to Plummer! Paxton is the man! He is on time, super fair and very dependable. I had a hose that would not come off my washing machine (and I was on the verge of having to cut the water off for my whole building) Paxton showed up and was able to solve the issue-without cutting the building's water.

Highly recommend!!! I had a backed up sewer line today and Paxton visited immediately to fix the problem, and he made the extra effort to remove the debris clogging the drain. Fast, efficient, and I learned a great deal about sewer lines and the necessity for clean out taps.

Stopped up kitchen sink the day after thanksgiving - I thought we were going to be sinkless till Monday! I called Carrera Plumbing and he arrived in just about 2 hours.

He worked fast and cleaned up after himself quite nicely and I was really pleased with what he charged.

I called on Thanksgiving and I thought I would leave a message but he answered! He came over but the power had just gone out. When it came back on an hour later he came back and fixed my clogged sink. Amazing experience and Carrera's Plumbing will be my first and only call from now on! Thank you for saving the day:))))
