I purchased a new HVAC system from Carolina Conditions & it has been the worst experience I've ever had. Carolina Conditions installed 2 Mitsubishi ductless mini-split system with 7 FH model wall mounted head units. I also hired them to remove the old HVAC/furnace units & all the duct work. It's been a year to date since the initial install (10/20/2016) & things still aren't right. I've been very patient but this company has terrible response time & is not at all concerned with doing a good job or customer satisfaction after they've received their money. They were supposed to remove all parts of my old HVAC system & seal up all the ducts & vents. This took months! Until February - 4 months! The initial removal was supposedly done in a week so they could proceed with the Mitsubishi ductless install but they left many of the floor vents open or taped up with cardboard. For months I had to stuff towels into the old floor vents so we didn't have to smell the damp, nasty crawl space air. Plus it was cold in December & January & the chilled air from under the house came up through the unsealed vents. I had to put throw rugs & blankets over the unsealed ducts & the cold air still came up. I called & complained repeatedly. They would send someone out & give me excuses. I finally had to crawl under the house to take pictures & found they had left litter, discarded tubes of sealer, & parts of the old system laying under the house. Plus one of the electrical wires from the old furnace hanging uncapped from the floor beams. I sent the pictures to the owner before the owner came out 4 months later to find out what was happening. In the meantime, the techs installed the Mitsubishi system. For the initial install, they promised to cover everything so the plaster dust wouldn't be all over everything & they said they would clean everything up when they finished. That was a big fat fib. They didn't cover anything & when they drilled through the walls, plaster dust covered everything. We had most of the units wiring routed through the closets so they would be hidden. Dust over EVERYTHING! We had to wash the clothes in 3 bedroom closets & clean up the plaster dust from the shelving & floors in the closets & the pantry. It was a mess! They also damaged the shelving in one of the bedroom closets because they didn't check before they drilled through the wall. Instead of offering to fix it, they just left it like that - said there was nothing they could do to fix it because they didn't have a carpenter working for them. By this time a few of the techs were down right rude to me. As if them damaging my home was all part of the install and I should except it. It was already February and they had their money so it was no worry to Carolina Conditions. They left a very large hole in the attic floor where they removed the return air duct from the old system. A HUGE HOLE. Large enough for an adult to fall through. I could stand in the garage and see right into the attic. Their explanation was that covering that hole in my garage ceiling/attic floor wasn't included in the price (nearly $22,000)! For $22,000 I was expecting quality work. In February I finally got the owner out to show him the lousy work that had been done. He agreed that it was some horrible work & he would make things right. That took many more visits. I finally had to have a carpenter come to fix the shelving & pay for it myself, plus things were NOT right. Mid February through May the Mitsubishi system had all sorts of problems. Bad controllers, units turning themselves off, leaking pumps, & units just not working correctly. One of the worst problems are the units themselves. They won't stop blowing air. It doesn't matter if you have them set to heat or cool, they continue to blow air. We weren't told about this problem when they sold us the system. THIS IS STILL UNRESOLVED. It makes it uncomfortable to be in the rooms because there is constant air blowing on you. During the night, the unit in my mothers room blows down onto her bed. I've repeated told Carolina Conditions that this is a huge problem (there is a fix to this). My mother is 82 years old & she can't tolerate the constant air blowing on her & it's affecting her health. To date, one year later, they still haven't address this very large problem! Another problem, the Mitsubishi system pumps make a loud humming noise. The on/off cycling of the humming pump is loud enough to wake you up at night. Carolina Conditions had to replace all the pumps. THE KITCHEN UNIT PUMP IS STILL SO LOUD THAT IT VIBRATES THE WALL. September (11 months), the wall unit in the sun room started leaking like a waterfall. It took over a week to get it fixed. No rush on Carolina Conditions part. I've lost count of the times the techs have come out to work on this system. A year has gone by & I'm still having problems. Bottom line, Carolina Conditions doesn't do quality work & they aren't concerned about customer satisfaction.

I had a frustrating experience with this company. The technicians came out three times, and after spending over a thousand dollars, the issue still isn't resolved. One technician gave a different quote for a separate problem and promised to return the next day. I told him I couldn't keep taking time off work, so I'd call back. When I did, he never returned my call, and he left the wall in the storage room open. I was told I needed the sewer unclogged and a tree removed, but that didn't fix the problem. Then another technician came out, charged me $79, and said the issue was with the tub line. He couldn't return because his child was sick. A different tech came and asked if the previous technician had looked in the crawl space--I said he only checked the breaker box. Now they're telling me I need another line run to the kitchen sink and washer. To make matters worse, the manager, Jon Innes, was rude. He called me while I was at work saying it was finances, it wasn't that all I asked if financing was an option, since it was right after Christmas. I told him I'd pay it all if I couldn't finance, but I'd prefer financing. The technicians and customer reps were nice, but after giving me a quote, I was left hanging. I do not recommend this company for plumbing. I felt disrespected by the manager after spending over a thousand dollars and still having the same issue. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). After finding out they are not accredited by BBB. Money wasted! ATP! Show less More about me

We had a humidifier under our house to help control the high humidity. Humidity was still an issue. Carolina Conditions figured out that the humidifier wasn't working properly, made the repair and now we don't have an issue.

The team at Carolina Conditions is great! They take the time to identify HVAC issues, do complete inspections, and find ways to fix each one of the properly. They don't cut corners and are not the ones to call if you need something improperly fixed - they are the ones to call when you need permanent solutions - heat leaking from ductwork, energy inefficiency, proper maintenance of the HVAC system, upgrades, and complete HVAC replacement. They may be more expensive than some other companies, but the money you will save in improved efficiently and energy conservation are well worth it.

This is a review related to our visit from Tom for maintenance and service HVAC Oct 3rd 2017.Tom is an exemplary individual, pride in his work, personable and obviously has know how, experience needed for this trade and ability plus willingness to explain to us how it all works. He spent time to identify and suggest practical things we could do to improve our air quality and how our system works in our home.We signed on for service agreement and look forward to seeing Tom again knowing maintenance of our investment is in such good hands. Forest Bunting came out today and cleaned my driver vent duct work. Very professional and did a great job. Frightening how much lint accumulates in this line. Highly recommend Forest and this company.

Called Carolina Conditions to replace a cgfi outlet, no wiring, outdoors with easy access, just a simple job that should take 15 minutes or so. The outlet itself costs about $15, The charge from Carolina Conditions was $288.

I had them out here yesterday to look at my AC system. It was working in October, but not functional now. I called and asked for their $99 maintenance special. I always knew it would probably cost more, such is the way of HVAC in my experience. Upon arrival, the technician checked exactly one thing, the refrigerant level. Finding it low, he informed me that he could not service it because it used R-22. Fine. I get it, my system is old and needs replacing. I still got charged the full $99, and I did not even get offered a receipt. I do not feel that there was enough work done to justify the bill, and that a more honest company would have treated it like a free quote (which Carolina Conditions claims to offer). It seems like a bad business decision to lose a customer (and a 5 star review) over a hundred dollars. I do have to get a new system, but I do not have to buy it from them. If I had put that hundred dollars in a window unit, I would not be burning up in here tomorrow. Before I end this rant, I want to explain why they didn't get 1 star. The customer service rep on the phone, Kim, was phenomenal. She was friendly, professional, and quick to get me the appointment. Also, the technician was very good as well. I suspect that my complaints with this company lie with management decisions rather than with the front line employees.

Have you ever had the feeling that a company that looks at you and sizes the amount of money you have in your wallet, well that's exactly how I felt when Daniel their sales rep came over to do a site visit. Our house has been inspected by home inspection and Hvac inspections during the purchasing of house process, which both report has been sent over for their review. Their preliminary price quote to fix the issues address by the report were reasonable. A knowledge staff member Charlotte even pointed out that I may need to exchange one of the units, due to bad coils on the reports. She's the gem of the company. Charlotte said they needed to send a sales rep over in order to give us an accurate quote on the units. We complied with the request. Daniel came to the house, quickly inspected the size and age of the units. Left saying he would need to calculate the load necessary for a replacement. When asked to give a rough estimate, he responded with a $6k ballpark figure. We told him that we had shopped around and that the going price for a new unit is 4k, permitted work. He balked at that saying their are the professionals and that they put in calculations so the work they perform are better. With the emphasis on calculation being important, and that's why they are THE professionals. He followed with an estimate the following evening of one two ton unit for $5,789. I thought you were going to give me quotes for two units. I followed to ask, whether that is the proper size for replacement as he seemed on site that calculation was of upmost importance for his company, he replied that in order to get a load calculation, we had to pay $250. The program they used cost thousands. Shopping around yelp other high reviewed HVAC is my suggestion. And one can google and self calculate the load necessary for the units. It's J manual and it's really not that hard. The owner Tim has already emailed me that hopefully this can be resolved with me before posting my experience. I feel that he's very responsible to find me out. However, at the end of the day, I feel that my experience should be shared. A company shouldn't upcharge good clients, nickel and dime every turn. We are going to bite the bullet and install new units already, nickel and dime just drives a bad taste. At one point I was asked to pay $89 just to have a guy show up, and another $49 for the other unit to inspect the units. I was going to pay that amount, but the tech was 40 mins late on that days appointment and I couldn't wait any longer. So I never had that inspection performed. I have the luxury to shop around, but if your in a time crunch, maybe call out the other dealers first. I just didn't have a good experience with the sales rep. Charlotte on the other hand was always very courteous, if you ever had the pleasure you would know.

I needed an electrical wire removed from an old AC Unit the previous owner had wired illegally. The technician came out on tine. Was extremely polite, and even petted my cat who begging him for attention! 15 minutes and he was done! So grateful for the promptness, politeness, and (I'll admit) ... for petting my cat. Nit everyone likes cats, and some are afraid of them but when a cat meowing at demanding pets... he was so sweet to her and I really appreciated that!
