S W.Made an appointment for a leak in my ceiling. My appointment was between 1 and 3:30 p.m. the following day. He never showed up! At 4:30 p.m. I received a call stating the plumber was busy and couldn't make it. Plus he was busy for the next few days. I when I explained that I took time off from work for the appointment, the receptionist said, ""well, I didn't tell you to take time off."" Sure things come up, but there was no attempt to make it right or even apologize. I would not recommend this company.
It's hard to imagine a company could be worse than Carmine's. Hired them to replace a simple leaking faucet outside, plumbing 101. Didn't bother to check it because any idiot could do this job correctly right? Apparently not, turned it on this spring and my basement is completely flooded. Also hired them to fix a toilet, yup, toilet leaked and ruined my dining room ceiling. (In fairness, they did send someone out to paint the ceiling, a very average job at best). Now my AC isn't working properly that you guessed it, Carmines installed. The new service company was baffled at the 10's of feet of extra ducting used making the system totally inefficient (and costlier install for sure). All prices paid were highway robbery, even the little stuff. I'm not a believer in leaving bad reviews, in fact this is my first one, but when one company causes so much damage and aggravation, they deserve the court of public opinion. Stay far far away, trust me.
They have gone totally downhill! For several years they serviced my furnace and air conditioning without a problem. This year 3 times I took days off from work for a service appointment only to get stood up! That is unexceptable! You only care about the money making installs not your service calls. It's ok there are plenty of other companies in Danbury that will gladly have my business.
Carmine you better treat your one good tech Arsenio like gold because apparently he is the only tech that can handle all the calls. You will soon be out of business upsetting all of your existing customers!
WORST ""customer service"" I have EVER experienced. My heat pump went out before a major snow storm and called them to see if I could get a tech to look at it. There first question, 1. are you an existing customer, I reply, NO, they say well, we wont be able to get someone out there until Monday since you're not an existing customer, I called on Friday around 4 pm. Monday comes around, I call to confirm what time they would be there, they tell me they would call back and verify. They call back an hour later, and stat that they may or may not be able to get there Monday, which was the scheduled repair sate. Fast forward, I finally heard back from Carmines 2 weeks later when they called and asked what the issue was with the heat pump. Really? I called a local repair shop, that diagnosed the issue and fixed it the same day. Stay clear of this ""business"" ans i use the word business loosely. I wish there was a star ofr ZERO! Very unprofessional!!!!

Nam T.My central air heating unit stopped working on one of the coldest days this winter. Called Carmine's and within an hour a technician was dispatched. Tech diagnosed the problem quickly and made the necessary repairs. Very pleased with the promptness of service and the work performed by the technician.
Carmine's has very poor customer service! I had an appointment for a Friday morning. I received a call the night before telling me my appointment would be pushed to Friday late afternoon about 3 pm. Okay- not a huge deal. About 3:45 pm the day of my appointment I called to see if someone was still coming out and was told yes. There was no ""I'm sorry for the delay or I'm sorry we didn't call you"". Then about 4:30 pm I receive a call telling me they had to reschedule my appointment for the following week. Again- no ""I'm sorry""; no nothing. I let them know we would be working and no one would be home during the time frames they were giving me. I eventually told them I was unhappy with their customer service and would be seeking another service. The person I spoke to could care less! They must be doing very well for themselves to not care about losing business. I will be sure to let others know Carmine's is not the place to go!
I also spent $20K on an HVAC system from Carmine's - what a mistake. I'll never do business with them again.
The workers did a good job of installation, but the system was very poorly designed. While the A/C was acceptable, the heat was not; set to 70F, the bedrooms were 85 and the downstairs 65. The oil burner ran constantly, using over 12 gallons a day in 40 degree weather.
On the rare occasions my calls to Carmine's were returned, I was treated like I was either imagining things or a nit-picker. I finally had to file a complaint with Carrier New England (great people!) to get some action.
There are so many decent HVAC companies to choose from - avoid these folks.
Avoid Carmine's! They were difficult to schedule with and changed apointments during a week of very high temps (80-90 degrees). I had understood they were to fix the problem during the call but later learned from my tenant that they were going to contact me with a proposal. Carmine's never called me with that information, so I had to call them. After many messages I left, they never contacted me, and this is unacceptable. They collected a service call charge of over $100 and I am out this amount. I would avoid them at all costs!
I had Carmine's over to fix a furnace and the technician (Eric?) was great. They were also the only company that was willing to come immediately and that was important since we have two small children. They came back at the exact time they mentioned once the part had arrived, and even called to give me a status update that they were on their way. Perhaps they've heard the negative reviews and decided to change?
The other reviews make me worry because I've had such a good experience, I'm considering letting them install a water heater. If I proceed, I'll be sure to come back and review them again.
