Do NOT use Carl Bell Plumbing and Heating. He utilizes deceptive business practices and leaves jobs unfinished. We had Mr. Bell install a heat pump system in our new home. Not only did the entire system have to be ripped out and installed with the correct materials, he left us without heat/air to our entire second floor of our home claiming we needed to buy from him a second heat pump unit for it to function. This has since been resolved buy another HVAC company who were horrified by the job Mr. Bell performed. The single pump he did install was not the one we requested but a low grade model that is not correct for colder weather conditions. He promised us another cold weather unit at cost but that has yet to materialize. Tens of thousands of dollars were spent on a system that did not function and he had no issue leaving us both freezing and sweltering for over a year. We have already spent over ten grand to fix his mistakes and that does not include having the correct heat pump installed. He never even hooked up the thermostat to our upstairs! He purposefully diverted heat/air from the upstairs by blocking it off. Who does such a thing?! I am happy to share them. In the meantime, find another HVAC provider. I would give him zero stars if that was an option.

Words can't express our disappointment. Showed up once charged for two visits did not fix problem. Ignored complaints & refused to refund any $.

Carl and his crew did an amazing job for me in a pinch since I had purchased a house for rental.No problems no issues and was always very clear to explain and since I have also been in the business many years in NYC needed to rely on someone trustworthy.Thanks Carl

I live in NYC, My 90 year old grandma Rosie called me from Kingston, she had no hot water and when central Hudson came out (she assumed the pilot light needed to be relit- I wish!) they found a gas leak too!
I couldn't get up there, and had just had a terrible experience where Lowe (another plumber) really took advantage of her, and I didn't know who to call. An electrician in Kingston that I'd worked with before recommended Carl without hesitation. Carl managed to squeeze her in within 2 hours, replaced the leaking connections and contacted Central Hud to turn the gas back on so he could check the boiler, and his charges were VERY reasonable even for a scheduled visit, nevermind an emergency call.
By the time cent. Hud. got the gas back on it was 6:30pm on a Friday night and Carl came back. He figured out it was a problem with the control unit, but also noticed the boiler was only 3 years old. This is the great part.. rather than saying ""I'll be back on Monday with the parts to fix it"" he told Rosie it should still be under warranty and gave her advice on how to go about getting warranty service- and didn't charge her for the return visit/diagnostic. It's so honorable it's almost absurd the way he put his client's best interests above his own.
Carl is a stand-up guy with great service, fast response times, quick expert work (which = great pricing), and a heart of gold. I trust him completely to take care of my grandma, I can think of no higher compliment.

Carl gave me an estimate for a big plumbing job that was well below the leading commercial plumber in Kingston. He was friendly and great at getting right back to me and explaining the whole process. He and his crew showed up on time and worked throughout the day (almost non-stop), and even re-paved the driveway that had to be ripped up. It's been over a year, and our plumbing has been working just fine without a glitch ever since. Highly recommended!

I had a basement sewer pump that wasn't working. Called Carl Bell after another plumber failed to show, sent him a photo of the pump, and he said he'd charge $1,000 to replace it. Labor alone would be $200 an hour because ""no one wants to work on these sewage pumps--too dirty."" Thank goodness I called Hot Water Solutions, Inc of West Hurley. Matt Lefevre came over and took a wipe out that was clogging it up and voila! it's working. Charged me $275. Also Matt send me a bill by email. Carl Bell said I'd have to pay the whole thing upfront.
