I had used Carini a few years ago apx 2019 for a complete furnace and blower replacement in my attic at a previous home. They performed a quick, efficient repair at a reasonable price. Something that stood out was the sales representative Carlos who said that Carini prides themselves as much on customer service and follow up as they do the original installation/repair. He added that Mr Carini himself is local to SD and prides himself on customer service. I used Carini a second time this year 2022 recently in my new home to add a first time Central Air HVAC system in my older home. The process was smooth, the bid was fair, and the preparation was thorough. The job started and completed on time within a week. Unfortunately I was waiting on power upgrades before I could use my HVAC. Carini's portion was completed yet after my new main service panel was needed to be installed we ran into a small issue with the HVAC installation, specifically where the Condensor was located. Carini made it right quickly with minimal interruption to my electician's very lean timeline, came back to my home to relocate the unit within a couple of days. I would absolutely recommend this local company to anyone needing repair, installation of a mini split or completely new HVAC. Specially when working with Carlos (Sales) and Britan (supervisor).

Had an issue with my AC unit. My compressor wouldn't start so I decided to call them for a diagnostic. Tom and Patrick showed up and within minutes they were able to tell me what exactly was wrong with it and fixed the issue on the spot. They even went the extra mile and replaced my filter while they answered all my questions. I will definitely reach out to them in the future.

We hired Carini Air to install three mini splits in our home.
Special thanks to Anthony, the project manager who came to our home to provide an estimate. He is truly knowledgeable, straightforward, and professional. After meeting him and listening to his extensive knowledge, we knew Anthony and Carini Air were the people we wanted to work with.
The installation went seamlessly. Anthony and his team showed up five minutes early. Jose, Patrick, and Miguel were awesome, extremely hard working, efficient, and professional. They finished the installation in one day. 10 out of 10 stars for the start to finish process. Thank you very much for your excellent service.

I am bummed that I have to post this review. I originally reviewed them back in 2015 when we hired Carini to install our new Fujitsu mini split air conditioning for a home that we had just purchased at the time. Our original experience was superb and at that time, we would have recommended them. As a matter of fact, I recommended them to several of my friends, and a few of them actually used Carini to install mini splits in their home.

Fast forward to 2022. We are having issues with our 7 year unit. It is no longer keeping up with the heat and can only cool 1 room at a time. I found my invoice from Carini and it showed a 12 year warranty. So I left Carini an email through their website. The following day, i get a call from Carini and I described the issue I was having. The rep took my information and just as we were getting ready to schedule the service, I advised her that my unit is a Fujitsu. And very quickly, she said"" I'm sorry to say, but we no longer service Fujitsu and you will need to call someone else"". Really??? You guys installed my system! Wow!!. I am totally dumbfounded that they are refusing to service an air conditioning unit that they installed. I hired Carini because they were (at the time) a family owned business. I am telling all my friends and family to stay away from Carini. To tell an old customer to find someone else because they don't stand behind their work.

As a reply to the owner of Carini Heating and air. I did not need any parts to my Air conditioning unit. All I needed was a refrigerant refill and dye insertion to detect a leak if there was any. It turns out that there was no leak and my unit is now working perfectly. The problem was either an installation issue where refrigerant had leaked out of the loose connections. This could have been performed by Carini but they refused. Bottom line is this, if you install a unit which costs over $10k, and you offer a 12 year warranty for the unit you installed 6.5 years ago, as a reputable business owner, you should stand by your work and at the very least, diagnose the issue your customer is having and if you cannot provide service due to a warranted part that you can no longer obtain, then you should refer your customer to another provider who CAN order that part. If I were a new customer, I would not hire Carini to install a new unit to my home. And since I am an existing customer, if I were the business owner, I would want to take care of this customer (me) to the best of my ability so that I could have a repeat customer should I need a new AC in the future. That is what a reputable business should do. Take care of new, old, existing customers. I hope future customers read this and see my point.

They charge triple the market rate. I paid $400 for a $59 thermostat which took 5 minutes to replace. I will not use them again or give any referrals to them.

Global warming finally got to us so we looked for a good AC company. We called Carini and they sent a representative, John, right away. We signed the contract that day and they installed the unit the next day. The installation team was skillful and efficient. Our house is now cool!

Great experience with this company, Tom came out and replaced a broken moisture water pump on one of my two split-system AC units. He also cleaned and serviced both of my units and the outdoor power supply in a quick manner. Carini was the company that installed the system a few years ago and once again awesome experience. For my particular AC system, there's a 12 year parts warranty and because Carini did the installation they have a 12 year labor warranty that goes with it as long as they provide one maintenance appointment on the units once per year. Ultimately it came down to Tom and the knowledge he had, finding the issue within a minute and telling me what he was going to do to fix it. When he left I knew everything was back to 100%. Thanks again for the help!

Poor customer service!
Im on the board of my HOA. Called to ask to them about the scope of work being done to a unit in the building who is putting a new ac unit on the roof and running 25 to 49 feet of conduit.
He asked my in a very snarky way, ""do you even know what a conduit is"".
I did receive a call back with an apology.

On January 6, Miguel from Carini came to my home to fix a problem with a new sink in the kitchen; the lines from the old sink did not work with the new sink so Miguel said I needed two new angle stops and they cost $300 each; I was quite surprised at the amount, but having no knowledge about the cost of parts, I trusted that Miguel was giving me a fair and reasonable price for the job. I found out last week from another plumber that the parts in question are around $30 each, not $300; so if the parts were $60 and he charged, say, $200 for labor, that would be $260, not $627. I am sad and disappointed that Miguel was not honest with me about the price and took advantage of my ignorance of the problem and charged me such an exorbitant amount.

I did get a a call from Debbie, the office manager; she explained her side of the issue and all that is involved with the pricing, but she was also very understanding of my side of the issue. After speaking with her, I don't feel as bad because I have a better understanding of the matter. I appreciate her taking the time to call me.
