Capitol Hill Plumbing
Company Overview
We focus on maintaining older residences, providing services for plumbing, heating, and various fixtures. Our services cover faucets, water pipes, waste lines, vent pipes, boilers, furnaces, and AC units.
We resolve problems including pressure issues, rust, water heater troubles, sewer difficulties, and leaks of every kind. We offer fixtures that align with modern environmental guidelines, conserving water, and our heating solutions are highly efficient.
Capitol Hill Plumbing was established as Good Services when Capitol Hill was in its infancy. In 1947, Jay Frees purchased the business and continued its operation under his name for half a century.
After retiring, he asked Bruce Good from Good Services Plumbing & Heating, a neighborhood company, to take over. Approximately 25 years ago, we added Radiant Heat to our service portfolio.
Bruce initially focused on Math and Physics in school, but transitioned to a career in Plumbing and Heating. He founded Good Services in 1976 and has been serving the Seattle community ever since. Bruce is a qualified journeyman plumber, a master low-voltage (HVAC) electrician, a certified BAT, a Seattle-listed sidesewer technician, a Seattle Grade 3 Steam engineer, and a Seattle gas mechanic. In his leisure time, he appreciates music, theater, movies, literature, and especially pickleball.

Such a bad experience with this company. What should have been a $280 job ended up costing over $700 due to their mistake. We called for an emergency service on Friday evening when we couldn't wait until Monday to have our water turned back on. They told us that it would only take an hour to fix. Unfortunately, the plumber cranked on the pipe way too hard and snapped it out of the nipple. At that point the hour had passed and the emergency rate was racking up (charged in 15 minute increments), so we agreed to live without water for the weekend (which is the whole reason we paid for the emergency service) and have him come back on Monday. It then took him over another hour+ on Monday to fix. When we got the bill they had overcharged us on the emergency rate and also refused to take any amount off the bill due to the plumber's poor handling of the situation. Huge waste of money and super inconvenient.

So efficient and really polite. They fixed our garbage disposal last year and did a great job at a reasonable rate.

Rob did a great job replacing 5 angle stops for me. He arrived on time and finished the job earlier than I expected. Also, the scheduling staff was very helpful on the phone in answering all the questions I had. All-around good experience.

ZERO complaints about Capitol Hill Plumbing, Their staff did an exceptional job fixing up my tenant's water heater! Big shout out to Fred for his outstanding professionalism, efficiency and overall knowledge of setting up our new water heater system. Fairly priced, punctual, efficient, and friendly. What's not to like??

We own a Capitol Hill rental home, whose gas furnace quit the afternoon before New Years Eve, in the middle of a cold snap! Why don't these things break in the summer? And what are the chances you'll find a repairman who can take care of it RIGHT NOW? Pretty good if you call Capitol Hill Plumbing! The next morning at ten, the repairman was here; he spent three hours diagnosing and fixing, and when he left our friends had their heat back! The alternative was to wait till the next Monday morning (four days away), if we were lucky, just to get someone over to look at it, while the house was kept sort of warm by some space heaters.

Denver did an excellent job fixing a old and badly leaking faucet for one of my tenants. He was both easy to talk to and understand, as well as professional. He even warned me that my tenant had dangerously altered her gas hot water heater. Great people, great company, highly recommended.

Capitol plumbing/good services was very responsive, friendly. They came to our house to install a dishwasher. The only downside is the $155 or so they charged us per visit but I guess this must be the going rate. Overall I would recommend them.

Aaron and Carl really saved the day. We had a hot water heater that gave out on a Friday evening. They secured a new heater and installed it, all before 9 pm. I was amazed. The price was fair and good and the service was amazing! I love these guys.

So I had a hot water line leak in a basement bathroom, and was hesitant to run any hot water throughout the house for fear that it would worsen the damage already done. That meant no shower for the parents or our 11 month old daughter. Not good. I called Stan at 415pm PST. He called back in less than 10 minutes to tell me that Chris was en route. Chris arrived, assessed the issue and dug in. Chris was professional, friendly, thorough and speedy. For any plumbing job - big or small - I'd highly recommend the folks at Good Services.

I'm happy to write an update from my previous negative review. I received a call today from Mike, the plumber from Capitol Hill Plumbing who did the work at my apartment building. After explaining my frustration with their work (see details from my first review), he understood why I was frustrated and agreed to refund the service fee for the second visit ($100). I thought this was excellent customer service, and I appreciated hearing from them directly.
I will write another update (and upgrade my review to 5 Stars) when I receive the refund check from the company. But in the meantime, Mike has shown a high degree of integrity and professionalism, which is really essential in the service industry.
