Be prepared. It's going to feel like you're being blackmailed.
We were selling our condo, and as part of the deal we needed our central A\C serviced. And this was July so all HVAC guys in Santa Fe were booked solid for two weeks out.
Comfort Dr was able to book me quicker. (Maybe I should have been concerned.)
I asked for a ""service call"" but got what they called ""an inspection."" They went through and found every, single part (or at least the expensive ones, costing over $200 bucks) and gave me the horror story of ""this could blow up and catch on fire!""
On the phone I was quoted a service call of $89 + $25 travel fee. I expected to have to pay upwards of $250.
But the final estimate was $1,200!!! I talked them down to $900.
But still, I felt sick, I said that was too much. The Comfort Dr. repairman said over and over ""You can deny any of these services, but we'll have to write on the invoice that you denied service, and that there is a danger."" He knew that my buyer had requested a copy of the invoice. Which meant they could say most anything they wanted, and I would have to pay it.
This felt like a shake-down. This is not how you do business. I called them and asked for a detailed invoice but never heard back.
I will never use these guys again, and would never recommend them to anyone.

Last fall, they charged us a fortune ($2,700). We paid it within 2 weeks. In the spring we asked them to come out and they threatened to take us to court over ""unpaid bill."" It turns out they forgot to document the payment. To top it off, this May/June new people had to come out and repair the well because they never blew out the lines and muffed up the well, so there's another $1,600 to another company to fix their mistakes. Totally crooked company with an egotistical guy who thinks he's the big cheese in town but is greatly mistaken. Never again.

Do not call this company, ever. They gave us a bid that was not signed by us and because my husband was so afraid the furnace would go completely out, he said ok. They quoted $7,700. for a 1300 sq. Foot house. The quote was on a Wed. And they set the following Wed. to do the work. Husband called them to not order any equipment early on Thurs. morning. At noon they called me back and said that I would need to now pay 20% on equipment they were going to pick up. I told them we wanted to get another bid as we weren't comfortable paying so much. Cynthia threatened it was too late and now we must pay 20% of the equipment. To make a long story short, even though a contract was not signed, they took $1,000 out of $4,270. down pay we had paid the day of the bid. We got the same furnace, same work for $3,500. Now to Better Business and a lawyer. They are a scam. Buyer run the other direction!

They are quick to quote for installations, and very slow to do the work. They are messy and over priced. Good luck if they show up when they say they will. I would not recommend.

I called, they came. Fast and on time. But....
My furnace was on the blink, it would not stay on... The pilot light wouldn't stay on after a few cycles. My educated guess was that it has a bad thermocouple. The furnace was installed in 1985 or so. Yes it is old.
The ""Doctor"" told me there were variety of problems with this old unit... yep I know that. He confirmed the unit has a bad thermocouple. But he won't replace it because the unit has another problem... No Flame Roll Out Switch. So he ""had"" to ""red tag"" my furnace. Now since the furnace is red tagged he can fix the thermocouple.
The furnace of course never had a Flame Roll Out Switch because is was built some 30 years ago. The bill for his visit was 128.89.
He was a very nice fellow very professional.
So now I have a furnace that in the middle of winter that won't work.
I'm out 128 bucks.
So what to do?
Not all is lost... I had a nice chat with the owner he gave me some VERY fine options and no doubt I will be taking him up on his offers.
I will keep you posted as to what happens.
But I smell a nice furnace in my future.
Ill move them to 5 stars after the work is done

This company is unprofessional, dishonest and a rip off. Unexperienced techs, repeat visit to drive up the bill for work that is not done right. Beware of this company. They will tell you they are not going to charge you and then bait and switch and suddenly you have charges! Watch out and don't let yourself be taken advantage. Stay away.....
Details - Had them come over to work on my Rinnai. The tech came over and did a diagnostic and told me that he took care of the problem. Problem persisted so I called the office and was told by Jolene that I would not be charged for a follow up visit. Owner - Rich - came with the tech who I found out was in training. I don't know how long they stayed or what they worked on. I was told to contact NM Gas and when I did, was told by NM Gas to get a gas calibration. The tech in training comes back and does the gas calibration. I call and spoke to Jolene to find out about the bill and was told that she would talk to the owner - Rich - and get back o me with he bill and would not charge my credit card without talking to me first. Suddenly I have a $450 bill that includes the second visit. When I called to dispute, Jolene has no recollection of the conversation. Wow! I have no problem paying for work done - first and third visit. But I know when I am getting ripped off. Filed a dispute with Amex. Not only will I never do business with this company, I will tell all my friends of my experience with this company.
Subsequent to this post, the owner Rich called me and told me that he saw my negative review gave me a song and dance about being a man of integrity and would do right by me and asked me to remove the review. Trusting him, I removed the review. I now find out that he is doing a review of the facts and his team is telling him that they came to my house on a weekend which they never did and on and on. This whole outfit starting with the owner is a sham and will stick you with surprise bills without giving you a quote, getting your approval and spending all kinds of time. Watch out!

Sorry but this Co. Almost took advantage of me.
I wanted to know the model of the new hot water tank that they are going to put and I never got a good answer so a couldn't approve for them to start working and they told the tenant that I didn't approve it.
Then finally they send the model number and I compare with Home Depot.
Comfort Doctor would give me a 6 years guarantee tank and installation for about 1800 to 2000.
Home Depot for a 12 years guarantee plus installation would charge me 1300.
So I went Home Depot, better tank, saving between 500 to 700 and the service was pretty quick.
Don't get fool with the words ""put it with the up to date code"" it's just a strap an another small stuff.
Of course my house was only 14 years old.
I used to use this Co. Sorry not any more.

These guys are professional and on time. Also, they kindly fit me in Thursday evening before the July 4 three day Holiday when a thunderstorm had zapped my thermostat. Richard showed up with parts in hand and I had cooling within minutes. They are not cheap but their prices are fair. They do a good job in a timely manner.

Didn't show up as promised and left us without hot water for a week while they went off to celebrate the holiday out of town.

I had them put in a furnace a few years ago, and charged me $1500. They put it in uneven. I called to complain and their way of fixing it was to grab one of my tiles and even it would it with it. A few days ago I had issues with furnace, I called and I felt like they were not very nice. The went to house d as is said every was fine. I was not. I had another plumber can the told me that it was not put in to code. On top of it, the new plumber said they placed the cheapest furnace on the market and overcharged for a shitty job. Never, ever again will I use this place.
