Of course our plumbing emergency had to happen late Saturday night. Candu was able to come out Sunday morning, an hour after we called. Albert was professional and thorough. He worked nearly all day to solve our problem. We highly recommend Candu.

Great guy! Great service! This is a privately owned and operated business not a big chain with revolving service people every time you have them out. The owner himself does the work! He has been doing plumbing since the mid 1990's! I asked. From start to finish a true professional. I was struck by how care taking he was, put on protective shoe booties for entering & exiting the house. Even his equipment was pristine! You can tell he has pride of ownership & maintains his equipment. Highly recommend, a pleasure to have him servicing my plumbing needs! Felt good to be supporting a privately owned small business. THESE GUYS ARE THE REAL DEAL! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

If you're calling the plumber, you're probably not in a good mood. In our case, the entire building is being re-piped, and it's a massive job. Let's just say, the building managers are not particularly communicative with the tenants, and some of us were thrown off-guard by the up-rooting of our daily lives.

Here's where Candu comes in. George (spelled ""Gorge"" on his card) has been so kind, professional, efficient, and accommodating, having to make up for the lack of proper heads up by building management. He's got a great crew of employees, all fast, polite and really good at what they do. Gorge explains what they're going to do, how it will affect the tenants, the long and the short of it, and what we can expect going forward. In spite of all the apartment drama around here, Gorge has never once made us feel out of line, difficult, or dismissed. Never once do I feel like he's BSing anyone, as some plumbing companies can do (as opposed to Candu ;) ). He and his guys always make sure they use the proper drop cloths to protect our rugs/flooring - and they put up those plastic containment walls around the units to protect the rest of our homes from drywall dust. They take care with our personal property.

I'm not a plumber, so I can't say I know what's what, technically. But I've had to deal with plumbers for many years, and these guys are top notch. Their workmanship always looks great, nothing winds up breaking in the wake of another repair, they clean up their messes (wut?) and they always do what they say they're going to do. The upgraded fixtures are nicer than what they've replaced, they accommodate the tenants whom want to keep their fixtures as is, and they don't skimp on materials needed to do the best job.

Being great plumbers is #1, but a close second is the fact that Candu is incredibly customer service oriented. I can say without exaggeration that Gorge is outstanding. He's always professional and on-the-go, but somehow manages to make everyone feel heard, respected and accommodated. It's no small thing when your home is in utter disarray. And his warm and friendly demeanor is reflected in his employees as well. If you're going to have a bunch of guys stomping through your uprooted home for over a month, it's a fantastic comfort that they're a bunch of cool guys. Obviously I'm not the only one who thinks they're tippy top. And we're all the way by the beach, so we're feeling grateful that Candu made its way to us westsiders too!

Where to begin? Since moving, we have used Candu countless times and every time has been a wonderful, honest, easy, professional experience. We looked around quite a bit before using Candu and so I can confidently say that they are the BEST anywhere on the east side of LA. Especially Alejandro. Ask for him- he is my favorite- always on time and he goes the extra mile to make sure you understand and are happy with his work!

As I was leaving town my neighbor phoned and informed me that there was something leaking into the front lawn. I inspected the sewer cleanout line and concluded that there was an obstruction or other problem that may lead to backup and severe damage. I called Candu Plumbing after an internet search, and George arrived within an hour. He did a rooter which yielded a large amount of roots, which he then attempted to clear with a hydrojet the next day. He inserted a camera into the line and this revealed root obstruction of the line as well as an area of breakage. Not good news, but could be worse. He arrived with his dad on Saturday and additional crew arrived after several hours of digging and backbreaking work. They were able to insert a PVC sleeve through the old line and connect it to both the house and street ends. There was meticulous attention to detail every step of the way. The way he keeps his van, tools and equipment clean and in good order was an indication that I was dealing with a professional, and believe me when I tell you that I am extremely finicky. After the job was completed he and his dad spent a lot of time cleaning up the yard so that one would be hard pressed to see that any work had been done. This was not a cheap project, but it was worth it if it saves damage to the house. You don't want to mess with bad plumbing. I would recommend this company without reservation, in fact I hope to use them in the near future when I build a new home on this lot.
