I, too, had a horrible experience. First, the technician was late and didn't call to let me know. Then, when he arrived, he was a kid who didn't appear very confident. That suspicion was confirmed when he looked at my problem (shower faucet) and completely misdiagnosed it (after I explained what the problem was, contrary to his initial thought that the plumbing had to be accessed through the wall and replaced, whereas all that was needed was a new valve in the existing plumbing). Then he submitted a ticket to American Home Shield with his diagnosis, including that some parts were missing (which they were not, yet which voided my contract). But that turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because I would have hated to have him come back and do any more work on the faucet. No telling how much damage he would have done!
When I tried to call the company to complain, the call went right to the kid's cell phone. I expressed my disappointment in his/his company's service, but to no avail. He either didn't understand what I was saying, or didn't care (probably both).
So PLEASE DO NOT use this company! (I've also cancelled my contract with AHS, because apparently they think it is OK to contract with a company like this!
I had and still have an issue that I'm dealing with. My plumbing started to back up and when I contacted Ameican Home Shield they sent this joke of a company Calvery plumbing. They sent a young kid that first off tried to come into my home without an invite and I had to tell him to wait. I then let him in a he stood there with no greeting or what he was there to do. Didn't check the problem when I told him what was wrong and immediately just walked around my house for a clean out and after 5 minutes of looking. He told me he didn't know what to do. Spent no more than 10 minutes in my house and then told me he had no clue what to do and he had two more appointments to go to and he would have to come back. In the time he was there he used my personal ladder, told me his machine was broke and would take two people anyways, had no diagnosis as to what was going on or how to resolve any of it. Then went outside and sat there picking his finger nails for 10 minutes. I called the number online and it forwarded straight to him, the next two times another voicemail. The next call I got was that he had appointments to go to and would call me back. I never heard from the company again.
SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT USE CALVERT PLUMBING OR AMERICAN HOME SHIELD!!

We were assigned this ridiculous excuse for a company through our homeowners warranty AHS.l for the plumbing issues in the house we just bought.
Some kid that seemed like a lost freaking puppy showed up at our door. Saw my husbands work van (he is a plumber but we can't fix it ourselves because of the warranty). Asked where the clean out was, couldn't find it... had my husband walk around with him searching. Used my husbands ladder... this boy was clearly ill equipped and Ill prepared to do anything.
Couldn't find the clean out, then just says, ""well I have two other appointments I have to get to, I'll call you later."" We asked when and were told ""he didn't know.""
He didn't leave before asking my husbands opinion his next call, and telling us he's only been doing this for a year... in no way shape or form should this inexperienced kid have been on a call alone, clearly.
Also told us since he can't find the clean out, they would have to snake our toilet for an additional $100... not going to happen. We already paid $75 for a service call where nothing was fixed or even diagnosed.
He then proceeded to sit in his work truck out front for about 10-15 minutes doing nothing.
My husband found the clean out that was under the floor after he left.
SHOCKER: We never got a call back that night.
We googled the company for the phone number, and it went directly to that kid.
We are calling AHS to cancel anything with this company, and will just do it ourselves. I cannot believe we lost money by leaving work early for this shit, and paying for a service call, and getting no service.
We are just hoping this review and all the others almost exactly like this will prevent others from hiring this company.
Zarah P.The first appointment went great when the owner came. He diagnosed the problem and said we needed a follow-up appointment to drill into the concrete in my basement to replace the piping. He seemed to know what he was talking about, and I felt better after having poor service with another company previously.
When I scheduled the follow up appointment, another guy came who was young and seemed high. He had no idea the floor drain needed replaced and didn't have any of the equipment necessary to do the job. He said he couldn't get to it that day because he had other jobs to do... which was incredibly frustrating because I had to take time off work to be at my house for the work. I called the secretary to tell her about the issue and she claimed total ignorance that my floor drain needed to be replaced, despite the fact that I spoke on the phone with her two days prior in detail about the work that was to be done! I scheduled a follow up appointment the next day, in which they gave me a four hour arrival time window, and after waiting FOUR HOURS, they still didn't show up. I called them 6 times and no one answer or returned my calls. I got a text after the 4 hour window that my technician was running late.. (well of course he is!) and I finally found a different number to call and it was the kid and he claimed total ignorance that my appointment was that day. They weren't even going to show up until after 6pm, and the job was going to take ""at least 4 hours"" according to them the previous day""... um, no, you are not going to be doing this work at my house until 10 or 11 at night!
I called my home warranty ( who assigned them) and complained about how they completely wasted several hours of my time.
DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY. It's too bad... the owner seemed nice and competent, but his employers were not. No one seemed to have any clue what the hell was going on.
Wendy S.I was assigned this company from AHS and all the other reviewers seem to have similar stories. I had appointment set from 4-6. They never showed. When I called the dispatcher, she said there was a death in the family. So they said they would come tonight. The tech called at 7 pm and was an hour away. He asked if he should still come out. This is a safety issue right there. I don't need an unknown person in my house late at night.
Excuse after excuse from this company!
I have had a very poor customer experience with this company. They came out to look at a leaky shower head/ control handle on November 8th. Told me they had to order a part. I've called and left 3 messages with ZERO follow up from them. This appointment was set up through AHS. I called AHS on Nov 22nd, they got ahold of someone at Calvert and they told AHS they would call me in that afternoon. Crickets. Very poor service from a company in the service industry.
Calvert was hired by ahs to fix my water heater and they came out to my home saw what needed to be completed did not want the job and they closed the repair ticket with ahs saving the work had been completed. I had to follow up with calvertbseveral times and they kept telling me that ahs had not authorized the parts. Knowing that my husband is a heart patient and that my 91 yr old mother also lives with us. I had to go back to ahs to find out the truth and they had to send another plumbing co out and start the process all over. We have now been without hot water for over 9 days due to their delay and not handling the job as professionals should. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
If I could give zero stars I would. You should not trust this company with your service needs. I had no choice but to use Calvert's Plumbing, Heating and Cooling for a central air repair due to a contract with our warranty company. The worst experience we have ever had with a service company. Six weeks of waiting for a repairs, one excuse and lie after another, everything from- the wrong part ordered three times, family deaths, dead dog, flat tires, water heater explosions, diarrhea (yes even that) and heart attack. After getting a second opinion, learning that these delays were part of a bigger scam. Scam the customer out of cash and scam the warranty company. Don't fall for it. Look them up, they have scammed others, I found out to late. Look up what they did to someone lawn over a plumbing repair, tragic!! They are now being investigated by the Kansas Attorney General. I got a new company, from assessment, to order and install in 36 hours! RUN AWAY FAST!!
I had John out today to fix drain problems I was having all over the house. He arrived at the early end of the window, patiently listened to what was going on, and got it all fixed for me. He made sure to show me that it was fixed and what he had pulled out of the drain at each location. I would most certainly have them back out for any of my plumbing, heating, or cooling needs. One employee is not necessarily indicative of an entire business as David C would insinuate.
Worse experience every had them come out twice and still not fixed would not recommend to anybody .. worthless piece of shit tell me there still gonna charge when it should have been fixed the first time
