Mike is my new go-to plumber. We're doing a remodel of our garage area, and he rerouted some pipes, tucked others into the drywall, ran new water, drainage, and gas to an upstairs closet for a new laundry room, and replaced a cast-iron drainage pipe that had rotted away. He also ran a new water line for the backyard spigot, with an extension for irrigation. A pretty big job that he finished in two days by himself, at a price that was thousands less than another estimate.

Mike is conscientious. He cares about doing things right. When running a new gas line, he noticed my furnace's exhaust was rusted and broken, and suggested a fix until the HVAC guy came. When installing a drain vent running to the roof, he noticed some cracks in the tar around a different vent, and not only told me about it, but went to the hardware store to buy the patching compound and went back up to my roof to fix it himself at no charge.

I trust Mike and will use him for all my future plumbing projects. You should too.

Mike, the owner of Cal Plumbing, is the kind of contractor who answers the phone...or returns your call promptly. He was very responsive, professional and easy to work with. My project involved moving the water and gas connections from an adjoining laundry room to the garage side of the wall. He handled it quickly and expertly. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He knows what he's doing, works quickly and his pricing is very fair. There's no question about who I'd call the next time I need a plumber.

Mike of Cal Plumbing not only failed to show for an appt today, but he failed to call or return my message. I won't ever hire nor refer Cal Plumbing again. I thought his hourly of $115 was a bit high as well.

Mike fixed a cracked sewer drain for us. He was easy to reach, very helpful and reasonably priced. We were quite happy and would call him again for another job.

Mike was very helpful. We were having some back up problem on our house drain, and, after some discussion, Mike suggested I call the city first to have them clear ""their side"". That is what they did and all our plumbing is back to normal.

Maybe other plumbers would do that, but he skipped the visit whereupon he could have charged an hourly visit charge or something.

My step-grandmother called with an urgent problem today: water was flooding the basement of her San Francisco home from an unknown leak! Since a watery basement is about the last place I want to visit, let alone search for a mysterious water leak in, I told her an official plumber would definitely be the way to go.

""Oh Nickie, my last plumber was so so bad! I need your help, Nickie. Please find me a good plumber! You are such a good good granson, Nickie.""

And so I did, and I am. I called around a bunch of the top rated plumbers on Yelp who service San Francisco, and either got voicemails without timely call-backs, or plumbers who could not come on short notice. Finally, I tried Cal Plumbing, and got right through to Mike who was able to stop by my grandmother's house and find the source of the basement leak almost immediately.

Turns out that an old boiler had broken, and was now leaking profusely. As this was a boiler issue and not a plumbing issue, Mike ended up referring her to the right place and did not charge a dime for the visit.

CalPlumbing definitely earned my trust today, and I know who to call again the next time step-grandma calls with a flooded (insert possible house zone here)!
