With all that said, plus the fact that Mike was very nice and personable is a big plus in my book. I like that he quoted very reasonably and had a set rate not an hourly rate. He gave a 10% discount as a new customer. And he cleaned up after he finished installing the faucet in the guest bathroom. I really couldn't be happier and I'm very glad that I chose CalPlumbing. Like the other reviews say, it's nice knowing that you have good plumbing company to depend on. Thank you, Mike!

When my water heater busted one night, I looked up plumbers on Yelp (but didn't really like my options -- none of them answered the phone). I remembered that the Chron rated businesses, so I checked sfgate.com/checkbook and found CalPlumbing. I called Mike and he answered the phone (after 6pm!) so he got the job. He showed up the next morning and took the old water heater out and put the new one in. He was super nice the whole time and did a great job. I'm keeping his number in my phone for any future plumbing problems I have. Good man.

I give ""Five Stars"" to Mike Barbieri. He really saved the day, because I was expecting the start of a big project the following day. That project required the usage of my sink faucet. Mike came that same day and repaired my faucet. He is a no nonsense plumber that concentrates on the repair to be done and does a great job with fair, competitive pricing! Many kudos to Mike.

It is time to retract my last YELP negative evaluation about Cal Plumbing for the following reason(s): Mike, the proprietor, recently demonstrated concern and conscientious attention to a retired, limited income elderly customer, my mother about a job which showed problems months after. My very meek, timid elderly mother assumed that there was nothing she could do except to save her monies again to redo the same entire job for a third time. But Mike recently showed he did care to regain and sustain our previous years long trust and confidence in him by offering to fix the problem. In my book of professionalism, one of two most important traits of a true trustworthy professional business owner and contractor is their willingness and ability to maintain goodwill, conscientious customer relations. And Mike did show this recently. We are satisfied.

Unintended flaws can occur by any professional expert, because many hardware products as plumbing parts are being made overseas with cheap labor and warranties are now very short. But how a problem is fixed defines a conscientious contractor. Mike showed me he does care.

Mike at Cal Plumbing is everything you could want in a professional tradesman. He returns calls, gives honest estimates, is timely and punctual and being in Pacifica, he is local. He came recommended, gave me a quote after looking at a simple install of new sink, disposer, dishwasher and frig hook up. It was a lot less than another estimate I got. He came out did as promised with no issues and was a nice , clean & conscientious worker. Hooked up the gas stove as well. It's become kind of rare these days when people do exactly what they promise and maybe a bit more. Cal Plumbing delivers.

Mike is my new go-to plumber. We're doing a remodel of our garage area, and he rerouted some pipes, tucked others into the drywall, ran new water, drainage, and gas to an upstairs closet for a new laundry room, and replaced a cast-iron drainage pipe that had rotted away. He also ran a new water line for the backyard spigot, with an extension for irrigation. A pretty big job that he finished in two days by himself, at a price that was thousands less than another estimate.

Mike is conscientious. He cares about doing things right. When running a new gas line, he noticed my furnace's exhaust was rusted and broken, and suggested a fix until the HVAC guy came. When installing a drain vent running to the roof, he noticed some cracks in the tar around a different vent, and not only told me about it, but went to the hardware store to buy the patching compound and went back up to my roof to fix it himself at no charge.

I trust Mike and will use him for all my future plumbing projects. You should too.

Mike, the owner of Cal Plumbing, is the kind of contractor who answers the phone...or returns your call promptly. He was very responsive, professional and easy to work with. My project involved moving the water and gas connections from an adjoining laundry room to the garage side of the wall. He handled it quickly and expertly. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He knows what he's doing, works quickly and his pricing is very fair. There's no question about who I'd call the next time I need a plumber.
