This was my first experience and last with this company, and the only reason I did business with them is because I trusted Angie's List, Big Mistake!

DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU OVER THE PHONE AND IF THEY COME TO SERVICE YOU, MAKE SURE YOU ARE WITH THEM AND QUESTION THEM EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. THEY ARE CROOKS AND NOT TO BE TRUSTED!

I was not happy with the way they treated me. I do not get offended very easily, but this gentleman was able to do it. The service that I had them to do in my home was a minor adjustment. It was not supposed to take more than an hour to do the work. The contractor ""Javier"" even confirmed it should not take longer than that. They informed me that they would be there around 9:30, but did not show up until 10:15. I told him what needed to be done and he said it would be no issue getting it done. It ended up taking him over 2 hours to get the project done, but he wanted to charge me for 3 hours? I tried not to bug him when he was working. He told me he was done, around 12:20, and informed me he would go to his truck and write up the invoice. He did not come back until 12:45, ""25 min"", and wanted me to pay him for his time writing the invoice! These guys are real crooks!

He says that I owe him $470, we argued for 45 minutes about the price. I informed him that this was completely ridiculous. They told me their hourly rate was $135/hour and at the end calculation he came up with $235/hour rate calculation. I talked to Mike, the owner of the company, he did not agree with me. You would think I am the crazy one, they make you think that way, that you don't understand that's why i was getting upset. It's a simple math, and thankfully I was there at the house the entire time and know exactly when he came and when he finished. They took their sweet time to do the work and then wanted to over charge me.

I feel that I was harassed. They made me feel like I was taking away from their profits, when I felt that I was paying them above and beyond. He even charged me for my time that we were argued. It was not a fun experience. They even told me that they did not care what I purchased from Angie's List.

Be very cautious when doing business with them, get pricing up front and don't trust them, period.

Do not Hire! Mike, Jr. is the most dishonest unethical person I have ever met. Not only will he take advantage of your lack of knowledge of plumbing and your emergency to jack up the price, he will swindle you, claim he has fixed the problem when he has not and change the terms of your final statement. He will then authorize your credit card for further charges and threaten you when you have to report him to the authorities. I had to hire a second plumber to fix the pipes under my house for $2400 including taking out a pipe he had put in incorrectly. He also tried to double the price of a pipe burst. The person is a crook. DO NOT HIRE!

I've learned in life that 80% of just about everything is substandard...food, service, and yes plumbers. We finally fired our last one, who was a rip-off artist. Now, today our guest bathroom backed up, disgusting mess. On a Sunday no less.
Called California Sewer & Rooter because Angie's list recommended them. Mike was great on the phone. How much extra for Sunday rush? Nothing. When can you come? In two hours. Mike Jr. showed up, couldn't have been more professional or nicer. Diagnosed the problem right away without using an expensive camera, he listened and felt, using his experience. Problem solved, back to watching football, and I feel like I dodged a bullet, another company would have packed on hundreds of dollars of extra charges. I now have a new plumber for my house, Mike Jr. from California Sewer & Rooter.
