My review is entirely based off my experience with William (the owner) and the office staff. William came out and gave me a quote on three projects totaling roughly $10,000. I informed him I was going to rent out my house and that I wanted everything done before the tenants moved in and gave him a specific date. Once I hired them it all went downhill. The morning his crew was picking up materials to build the deck, I sent William a reminder picture of the design I wanted and we previously discussed. Once I got home the design was the opposite of what I wanted. They were 1/3 way done so there was no turning back. When I brought it to Williams attention and he didn't even bother to apologize for neglecting to communicate with his crew. Sadly, everyone on his crew apologized except for him and he is the one who dropped the ball. Needless to say the three projects were not completed before the tenants moved in. Once you pay them the communication is rare and professionalism is lost. If you hire them make sure to ask for copies of receipts. There were several questionable charges of ""supplies,"" I paid for that were either not needed or they kept the remaining material. The worst part was when the office threatened to put a lien on my house for an unpaid balance of $495 within a few weeks after completion of the projects. The receipts were in the mail and we were still finalizing a precise figure based off of material returns credited to the account. I was in no way attempting to not pay the remaining balance. Crew five stars very talented and really nice guys. If I could hire them without going though Caldwell construction I would in a heart beat for future projects.

These guys took our old East Sac garage down to the studs and completely rebuilt it. It looks beautiful now, and his entire crew was great to work with. They were respectful of our neighbors, kept their music low, were super nice, and cleaned up each night. They also were flexible when we wanted to add or change things, and gave us great suggestions as to where to find flooring or tiles for a good price. It's clear that William takes a lot of pride in his work. For example, they completely restored the original garage carriage doors, which took hours and I could tell William was excited to make them look great. We'd definitely hire them again.

These guys were amazing, and did a bang up job on our new kitchen countertops, backsplash, sink, and water filtration system. They know who to hire and they know how to deal with a situation if something goes wrong. William came and personally checked everything for us, and wouldn't stop until the job was done. For me, this is everything in what you'd want from a construction and contracting firm. Will definitely be asking for Caldwell in the future.

I needed my house painted and messaged multiple painters through Yelp. I got three wildly different prices for labor only. Caldwell was the lowest but also provided the best service: quick response thru yelp, quick estimate schedule, quick scheduling of painting (not an 8 week wait), good communication when an earlier job required more time. EXCELLENT result while abiding with persnickety HOA.

When looking at purchasing a ""fixer upper"" home, Caldwell went above and beyond to fit us in not once but twice even moving their schedules around to come out and give us honest estimates.
Ultimately, they helped us in making a sound decision.
I would highly recommend this company for their prompt, friendly and honest business to anyone looking for an estimate. They can do it all and we will definitely call on them again for our contractor needs.

Caldwell Construction just finished a porch remodel on my midtown home and extended a fence on my side yard. Easy process and started and finished the work exactly when they said that they would. I had questions along the way and they helped me answer all of my questions. Good company and skilled workers. Highly recommend this company for your repair or construction projects.

Caldwell Construction just finished a countertop and backsplash renovation in our 100 year old Curtis Park home. From the initial estimate to the end of the job, I have been most impressed with how easy they are to work with and get in touch with. Steven was our project manager for the job, and I spoke to him frequently throughout the work. There were some hiccups along the way, but I don't think any construction job goes exactly as planned; the important part to me is that Steven and the owner William have addressed all issues and promptly made them right, even down to minor issues that I thought were just me being picky. The whole Caldwell team has been extremely professional and courteous, and we won't hesitate to use them again in the future!

Although I had issues with these guys, I was able to get them addressed in the end. The owner contacted me after reading my review and discussed my issues.

I was originally told by a project manager that they could not honor the coupon I received at the local home show prior to the work being. The owner apologized for this and fully honored the coupon. It sounds like there had been some miscommunication with a new project manager on their end.

I also had problems with one specific painter who was a bit sloppy but mostly just rude. The owner informed me that the painter had been let go not longer after my job due to related issues on job sites. Everyone else I have spoken with at the company has been professional, it was just the one guy that seemed to be an issue. I'm glad that was resolved.

In the end, they promised a high quality job and delivered for the most part. I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't for all the leg work and time away from work I had to do related to repeated walk throughs and pointing out flaws, drips, or missed areas (all related to the one problem painter). I'm happy with the outcome, but not with the path I had to take to get there.

We found Caldwell Construction while looking on Yelp and Nextdoor for somebody to build us a new driveway gate. Their staff were prompt and very customer friendly in scheduling an estimate and subsequent work. Project was finished in a day, at the estimated cost. I will gladly refer them to friends and will be coming back for additional projects in the future!

I really really wanted to give Caldwell 5 stars and as the project progressed my happiness with them eroded week after week. Let's just say they are probably good at small projects or one particular type of job at a time but not that great when it comes to a project that requires different skill sets and task. Communication, timeliness, scheduling, follow up, attention to detail was sub par. Too many unwarranted delays and sometimes no-shows. For almost 20 grand to update a new house I just expected better service and workman ship. I will follow up with pictures and text messages (rude responses from the owner) when i update this post. Needless to say if you want them to just paint, then get them for just that, my cabinets look great. If you want them for just tiling that's fine. Sadly, I had to go purchase tile grout remover to clean up grout that they spread over my decorative tiles that cost $35 a sheet, this is after I begged for them to clean it twice which they did. More of my review to come. This review is for Caldwell Construction. With William as owner and Steven as Project manager that worked on my home in Sacramento where I now reside
