Although I had issues with these guys, I was able to get them addressed in the end. The owner contacted me after reading my review and discussed my issues.

I was originally told by a project manager that they could not honor the coupon I received at the local home show prior to the work being. The owner apologized for this and fully honored the coupon. It sounds like there had been some miscommunication with a new project manager on their end.

I also had problems with one specific painter who was a bit sloppy but mostly just rude. The owner informed me that the painter had been let go not longer after my job due to related issues on job sites. Everyone else I have spoken with at the company has been professional, it was just the one guy that seemed to be an issue. I'm glad that was resolved.

In the end, they promised a high quality job and delivered for the most part. I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't for all the leg work and time away from work I had to do related to repeated walk throughs and pointing out flaws, drips, or missed areas (all related to the one problem painter). I'm happy with the outcome, but not with the path I had to take to get there.

We found Caldwell Construction while looking on Yelp and Nextdoor for somebody to build us a new driveway gate. Their staff were prompt and very customer friendly in scheduling an estimate and subsequent work. Project was finished in a day, at the estimated cost. I will gladly refer them to friends and will be coming back for additional projects in the future!

I really really wanted to give Caldwell 5 stars and as the project progressed my happiness with them eroded week after week. Let's just say they are probably good at small projects or one particular type of job at a time but not that great when it comes to a project that requires different skill sets and task. Communication, timeliness, scheduling, follow up, attention to detail was sub par. Too many unwarranted delays and sometimes no-shows. For almost 20 grand to update a new house I just expected better service and workman ship. I will follow up with pictures and text messages (rude responses from the owner) when i update this post. Needless to say if you want them to just paint, then get them for just that, my cabinets look great. If you want them for just tiling that's fine. Sadly, I had to go purchase tile grout remover to clean up grout that they spread over my decorative tiles that cost $35 a sheet, this is after I begged for them to clean it twice which they did. More of my review to come. This review is for Caldwell Construction. With William as owner and Steven as Project manager that worked on my home in Sacramento where I now reside

Just had my laundry room reconfigured for stackable machines and then patched and cleaned up. There were a couple issues, as there are with all remodels. Caldwell construction promptly addressed them all, no hassle, no hidden terms. I can't think of a better way to recommend this crew. I will say one other thing- someone always answered the phone and all my messages were returned. If you've worked with other contractors you know that's a pretty big deal.

I am very pleased overall with the work done on my home by Caldwell Construction. Caldwell fixed dry rot on the exterior of my home, painted trim and exterior walls, and they worked with a stucco company to get my home completely re-stuccoed.

Steven coordinated the job and I think he did a great job. He was always very responsive by phone, was on the site often and was very courteous. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I never got an estimate after the first time I met with him about my needs. After about one month went by, I called them back and asked where the estimate was, and Steven came out again and got me an estimate right away.

The workers are punctual and respectful. They cleaned up their messes at the end of each day and did good work.

I highly recommend using this company, as my home looks fantastic. I will call them first for any future work I need done on my home.

I would hire this company again. Workers are very polite. Very clean and tidy. Questions and concerns addressed in a timely manner. The best part about this company is Steven. He did the bid, returned calls in a timely manner, gave great explanations, and makes sure the customer is satisfied. Steven is AWESOME! My only complaint is that they could improve on attention to detail. On the plus side when addressed it was fixed the following day. They are a very good company and care about their clients.

I asked them for a bid over a month ago for some work regarding dry rot on the second story of my home. Provided details and a photo and I was told they would do an estimate on May 8 between 9 and 10 am. I waited a whole month. They called me on the 5th to confirm the appointment. They did not come. When I called at 10:30 am today to find out what was going on, the receptionist informed me, after checking with the supervisor, that they had decided not to do the estimate, as they would need a special machine and their bid would be too high. The receptionist did not know the supervisor had made this decision (apparently at the last minute).
If they do this for an estimate, what makes you think they will come on time after you have signed a contract? As usual, the poor receptionist had to apologize for the supervisor's lack of professional judgement.

Caldwell Construction came to the rescue when I realized I had a leak under the bathroom and possible dry rot under the floor. William Caldwell scheduled well seasoned workers who did quality work for all the different stages of work needed to address the dry rot and refurbish the bathroom. Different workers came as scheduled in a timely progression for: demo, replacement of rotted floor timbers, floor tile, plumbing repair, installation of fixtures, finish carpentry, and touch-up painting. I was very grateful to have the work proceed as quickly as possible since I only had the one bathroom in my small house. William has a great group of people working for him. All the workers, including people in the office were friendly, respectful and kind to this old lady. I found all the workers who came to my home to be trustworthy, on time, and hard working. They all did high quality work which was important to me, and cleaned up after them selves which was appreciated. My experience with Caldwell Construction could not have been better.

After the last storm my fence and garage desperately needed immediate repair and Caldwell Construction came to the rescue. They responded quickly and treated me respectfully through the entire process.
Was able to schedule them for other fixes and they will forever be my ""go to"" contractors so I don't have to go through the stress of picking out someone to work on my house.
So thankful for my neighbor's referral to them!

They deserve more than five stars! William and his crew are the only people that i ask to work on my 100 year old house anymore. Not only have fixed errors from other handyman, but have gone above and beyond any expectations i have had for my home. Caldwell construction installed all my ceiling fans, improved my Victorian style bathroom, installed my gas heater, installed my new roof, painted my house, and many more projects to come. Caldwell construction has always been respectful to my wishes for my home with giving me practical advice. Also, the ladies in the office are the best!
