I can't speak highly enough about patrick harrington and his apprentice vick lal. They are extremely professional and thorough. They have been to my house twice now for a variety of plumbling challenges including broken faucets, poor water pressure and sub pumps. You never feel like they are rushing through a job. They take their time, double check all their work and go the extra mile by explaining to you what caused the issue and how you can prevent it from happening in the future.

My sink was leaking and I could not figure out the source, but was suspecting the garbage disposer. Jane the receptionist had good customer service and was able to secure an appointment on the same day. Oleg quickly assessed the source of the leak, a crack along the garbage disposer. In less than 15 minutes, he replaced it with a new one. Thank you. Disposer works well and no more leaks.!

Is there any way we can give them 0 stars?
Cal-Home Plumbing has the worst service ever. Horrible service. It took them a month to replace a faucet sink and on top of that, the plumbers are rude and leave a mess after the work is done, seems like they are always rushing. The first appointment, they came to check if the warranty covered the faucet and told us that they will send a plumber. The second appointment, after two weeks, the plumber came and looked at the plumbing connections and said that the main water supply for the building had to shutdown and that we had to talk to the HOA in order to do that and set another appointment with them. Why they didn't tell us that the first day they came to check the faucet? After finishing his work, the plumber left everything dirty (including the old broken faucet) and didn't bother to put things back to the cabinets where he was working. I call them to complain, left a message but haven't heard of them since then.
DON'T CALL CAL-HOME PLUMBING. HORRIBLE SERVICE

I came to see my mother who lives in Bay area last week, and that was a hell of day because the water heater broke at her home. Her home warranty provider sent CAL-HOME plumbing to fix the water heater. The lady that was answering the phone provided me with the best and most professional customer service (such as prices because the warranty did not cover everything). After researching and calling few other places to check the prices, oh boy, I was really happy with the deal that Cal-Home offered me ($405.00). The heater was installed same day within a couple of hours after inspection. SERIOUSLY, LOVED the SERVICE, LOVED the STAFF. Thank you CAL-HOME for making my visit comfortable.

This company does not warranty their work is is terrible to deal with. They installed a NEW water heater. We paid for several items, over and above what was covered under the home warranty. The technician, Max, did not do a good job on the install. I notified Cal Home Plumbing, sent them pictures and several correspondences via email and phone and they refused to take ownership becuase the issues I discovered were not realized within the 1st 30 days of install. They only warrant their work for 30 days - then what? This company is not good to deal with and I would NOT recommend them at all. Don't let them in your home.

I have had my home warranty policy with First American since I bought my home in April 2005. I have renewed it every year for seven years now since I have owned my home because I have received excellent service from excellent contractors. Effective today, after the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor you sent to my home, I am canceling my policy.
I have a Bradford White water heater that was installed two years ago by a plumber dispatched by First American. I am in the process of adding a gas stove to my house. A plumber I know personally and professionally added a gas line to serve the new stove off the gas line which also services the water heater. In order to do so safely, he had to turn off the gas. When he went to turn it back on, the electric igniter would not spark. We tried it over and over and over again without luck for the better part of an hour. He opened the white box and saw that the igniter was ""arcing"", so there was a spark. When he removed the facing, he showed me that the wire connecting to the sparking mechanism was melted. He manually ignited the pilot light so I had hot water and I called you.
Today, Mr. Patrick Harrington from Cal-Home Plumbing came to my house. I was at work but a contractor who I employ was here installing ceramic tile in my kitchen, so I asked Mr. Harrington to come while my contractor was here and to call me if he needed anything. I had left the melted wire and the sparking wire at the base of the water heater for him to see. I received a call from Mr. Harrington at approximately 2:35PM while I was at lunch with a client. He informed me that the fact that my plumber had violated the warranty by opening the heater to light it so I would actually have hot water, claimed that my plumber broke the wire himself, claimed there was no melted wire there and went on to state several times that he (Mr. Harrington) was a union plumber for 21 years (obviously something he thinks elevates him above the rest of we plebeians) and he has never seen an igniter wire melt before. After this call and his attitude on the call which infuriated me, I came home and informed him directly with his subordinate standing there that I would not be spoken to as if I were a 5 year old child. His attitude is completely demeaning. The wire was melted. I saw it. It was laying there when I left the house for work. I realize that he would prefer I had no hot water until a ""union plumber"" (obviously important to him) examined it. If the fact that having a plumber I know personally and professionally relight the heater and remove the melted wire voids my warranty, that is fine. However, sending an arrogant, demeaning , ""21 year union plumber"" to my house to lecture me as if I were a disobedient, petulant child will cost First American my business. Further, I will send my review on Cal-Home Plumbing and its employee via every vehicle of social media I can.
Mr. Harrington may hold himself in high regard and may think that the only good plumber is a union plumber. I manage retail operations for a large institution and if anyone who worked for me treated people in such a haughty and demeaning manner, they would not be working for me. I have no idea who this individual thinks he is, but he is not in a position to speak to anyone with such an attitude.
I have contacted my own plumber and I will take care of this repair. I want to cancel this policy effective immediately. I will not do business with any company that employs people who treat customers this way. I have no mechanical abilities whatsoever and rely on professionals to help me regularly. This was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a ""professional"". Mr. Harrington needs a class in customer service. That is Cal-Home Plumbing's problem; a problem that I will never deal with again. I do not wish to be contacted by anyone at Cal-Home Plumbing in this regard. Our relationship is over.
Please cancel this policy effective immediately. I will be contacting my credit card company to stop allowing the monthly charge.

I've my home warranty company sent these guys to diagnose my water heater leaking problem. They came same day and result was to replace it and they could do it fairly quickly within 2 days so it was great and I was so happy for the first 12 hours. BUT, these guys charged all these extra so called ""modification"" work (my house is less than 20 years old and it is a standard house with standard water heater) that was not covered by my home warranty company, and I have doubts about these they so called ""modification"", and no choice but to pay them an extra $400 on top of what they got additional money from the warranty company for the installation. I had a long talk with my home warranty company but they don't care as the money is not out of their pocket and no 2nd opinion/quote is allowed. Based on other reviews, it looks like these guys are pulling this trick on everyone. I know it s a common practice by many contractors to make some extra money but not to this extend. I think these guys are real snakes. Avoid using them if you have a choice. I didn't as I needed the water heater replaced asap through my home warranty company. It is sad how some business operate or got away with this kind of practices.

My home warranty also sent me this company as well, they did minimal work and brought little equipment to do the required work and made a mess!!! This is a company not worth wasting your time and expense.

Can I give them 0 stars??
My home warranty company sent these clowns out to check on a slow-draining toilet. The guy arrives, tells me that there isn't a ""cleanout"" and that they need to install one before they can do anything. I asked if he might just use a plumber's snake and try to clear the toilet with that. He resisted but ultimately used a 6 ft. long snake and didn't find anything. What a surprise, since the house's main drainline is more than 6 ft. from the toilet! He was ready to pack it in, even though he (1) hadn't fixed the toilet, (2) hadn't diagnosed the cause of the sewer gas in the house!
Steer clear of these bozos. Very unhelpful. Lousy customer service (the office staff is about as surly as the plumbers).

My water heater started leaking on a Friday and my home warranty provider sent Cal-Home Plumbing to check it out. The technician was prompt (calling before he was on the way within the window the company gave). He evaluated the situation and a new water heater was needed. Because of the home warranty he had to get it approved by them and it takes another day to do this. An installation date was selected and he returned installing the heater. He had to do some modifications to bring the old installation up to code and he did so with skill and efficiency. The home warranty didn't pay for this part, but it needed to get done. Very polite, as was the office personnel calling me to let me know what was approved and what was not. The entire experience went well, the delay is always a hardship, but that wasn't Cal-Home's fault. Great job and the technician was wonderful.
