I am in the Dublin, CA area. This company was contracted through First American Home Warranty. Calhome Plumbing is so BAD. We had no faucet/kitchen use for 2 weeks now. Today, we are expecting the plumber to come as we have to leave town tonight and attend to a cancer surgery. We took time off to attend to this and Calhome just called back to tell us we're scheduled for tomorrow. I called this morning to reverify my appt and I was told yes they are coming. I even called before the appointment to ensure we're on the book. This is just unacceptable. I called First American Home Warranty and all they did was apologize. This means no kitchen sink faucet for almost another week. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL AROUND.

Well, let me guess why you are reading this review, my friends.
You didn't really want to call these guys, right? You are forced to deal with them due to warranty contracts as pretty much all other reviewers here. They were pretty quick as regards contacting you and scheduling an appointment after you placed a new service request at the home warranty site, right? A life-loving tech arrived at your place and told you that he needs to order some part which actually can be bought in any HW store and it will take them a week to get it, right? He took your co-payment and left?
Now another week is gone, you keep leaving voice messages after listening to the lie that they are on the other line talking to customers? They even call you back after you lose your patience and leave a couple of angry messages. They feed you another lie and disappear for another week,

My experience with Cal-Home Plumbing seemed to be going down a dark path (having seen all these negative reviews), so I switched to a different company.
Here's the play-by-play:
- After I reported issues with my water heater on a Sunday, First American Home Warranty assigned me to Cal-Home Plumbing, which called me the following Monday to set an appointment from 1-5pm for Tuesday.
- I re-confirmed my appointment with Cal-Home on Tuesday at 2pm, since I hadn't yet seen the plumber. At 4:45pm, I still hadn't seen or heard from the plumber, so I called Cal-Home Plumbing a couple more times. The company failed to answer the phone or return my call although they supposedly close at 5pm.
- At 6pm, already frustrated for having had to take half the day off and not seeing any sign of a plumber, I called First American Home Warranty to see if they can assign my work order to a different (and more reputable) contractor. After failing to contact Cal-Home Plumbing as well, they sent my work order to Platinum Plumbing, which they claim has had positive feedback. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Franco from Cal-home plumbing was sent by the home warranty company after 4 ineffectual visits from another company for leaking toilets. He quickly assessed the problems, listened to me and validated my efforts to resolve the problem myself. He replaced fill valves rapidly and efficiently and was pleasant. What a relief to not have to turn the water supply on and off every time the toilet is flushed-no pun intended!
He arrived within the 4 hour window and called ahead to let me know he was on the way. I will definitely request this company for plumbing service again.

Placed a completely different issue with home warranty who subcontracts with Cal home Plumbing. Issue was placed 11/13, have not heard from them despite multiple calls/messages. Still waiting to schedule and it's now December. Not thrilled.

Worst Plumbing company ever. I used them due to First American Home Warranty. Instead of repairs, made things worse so had to call a different plumber to fix their damages.

I received the service of Cal-Home Plumbing through my home insurance. Very disappointed with their customer service and follow-through. I have already placed a complaint about them through my home insurance carrier in hopes that they discontinue contract with this vendor. The service guy came out to my home on November 13, 2014 for a leaking faucet/sink. He stated that the faucet was broken and I needed to buy a new one. Once I bought the new faucet he would come back to install. It is now November 25th and still no return. I have placed several message with the vendor. Finally got a hold of someone last Friday who scheduled installation for Monday, November 24 between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m. No Show! And today I am yet to receive a call back. Now I have to pay another plumber to come out to my home. This is poor customer service. I will never use Cal-Home Plumbing again.

Like many, I am forced to use Cal-Home due to warranty contracts. Scheduling is always a pain (what's the point in having plumbers who only come 4 or more days after an issue arises?) and they often will come to inspect an issue, then have to report back to home warranty, then do the work (another 3 or 4 days after the inspection). This means a total of 2 weeks to get plumbing items taken care of. I understand the need to confirm with home warranty, but not for having 4 or 5 days between every scheduled date.
The actual work that they do is fine (for me so far) but I've only had them out for little things mostly.
Given the choice, never use Cal-Home, though, as there are some fantastic local plumbers that we have had out and are much faster and professional about everything.

To start, First American Home Warranty should be ashamed of themselves for contracting work to this bad excuse for a business. If there was a way to give negative stars here, Cal Home Plumbing and their customer service person, Alicia, would receive the lowest rating possible. Possibly one of the most unprofessional people I have ever come across.
I will spare you the detailed ""Hell and frustration"" that we have endured, but not tolerated that Cal Home has put forth.
Rather, I will give briefs highlights to give you an idea of why you should stay as far away from this pathetic company to save yourself certain grief.
1. After scheduling challenges, no return calls, ""the run around"", RUDE interactions and ultimately installing the wrong parts, service not rendered.
2. At one point, total frustration with this joke of a company, I mentioned that my options were at the point of bad YELP reviews, BBB contact, etc. the service person, Alicia, told me that ""I'm not worried about it, you wouldn't be the first"".
3. I could go on and on, but I am sure you get the point.
I stand by my review and find it very hard to believe that this company can remain in business from the dealings we have had with them. Cal Home, you are the worst.

Scheduled an appointment in the 3PM - 7PM range. A week later I'm still waiting. They didn't call to cancel or reschedule.
