Our hot water heater cracked and leaked which flooded our garage. Our home warranty company dispatched Cal Home. The office set up a next day appointment quickly. Once the work order was approved they got a tech out right away. Tony was a hard worker and did an amazing job at replacing and upgrading our system to new codes.

I had a couple of small issues in my hall bathroom. I contacted my home warranty folk (AHS) who were very responsive and sent someone out the next day. Slava showed up right on time and went to work to install a new tub spout/diverter so that water would actually come out of the shower head when u pull the diverter knob. He went the extra mile, was careful about the caulking around the spout and even cleaned out the drain cap when I mentioned the drain was slow. Then he fixed my 'rocking' toilet with a shim and tightening the bolts. He was totally professional and I was happy to engage him in a brief conversation. Yes, he has an accent. He's from Ukraine and is learning English very well for someone who has only been here a year. He's an asset to the company! Five stars all the way for Slava!

I had two problems with two different showers. My home warranty company forwarded my warranty request to this company. I was skeptical about this company based on the reviews here. The technician Slava was professional and diagnosed both the plumbing problems correctly. He was able to repair and replace one of the shower with an identical part even though it required a lot of hard work and skill to get it out. The 2nd shower was an imported faucet for which he needed authorization from warranty company and parts that he needed to order. Overall, I would give a 5 star in the way the work was performed to my satisfaction

Update: My home warranty company approved the job estimate. They are saying parts are coming next Tuesday. I have already passed two Tuesdays. communication has gone dead. So reducing 5 stars to 3.

AHS home warranty sent the to us. The plumber I believe was apprentice because he had to call some constantly for instructions. He didn't speak English very well. The toiletsand washer were backing up into the bathtub and shower. Hesnaked the bathtub then made the help call. He snaked the clean out under the kitchen sink and called again. Snaked the clean out in the front your and again called in for help. The clog wasn't budging. He finally said he couldn't clear it and left. We called Rooter Hero took about 10 minutes and it was cleared. No I would not recommend CalHome for plumbing.

Slava from Cal-Home Construction, Inc. (925) 693-0743 was rude, was difficult to understand, and is not very skillful. He misdiagnosed my problem, inaccurately reported the problem to American Home Shield home warranty but told me how much he would charge me out of pocket to correct the problem because AHS does't pay enough to fix it. Unbelievable. This review is not written because my claim wasn't paid. I read my policy and understand it thoroughly. This guy is looking for business.

They we're sent from home warranty AHS. When Tony arrived he spent probably 3 min looking at the water heater and said yes it needs to be replaced well yes it did water was pouring on the garage floor. Got the estimate from AHS they approved the water heater and installation but not the 952.00 in modifications Cal Home Construction said we needed. what the hell Had neighbor (who is a contractor) said absolutely you do not need any of those modifications. So do not use them they are so dishonest. Asked for a break down to see what the additional modification were they would not supply me with one!

We were assigned to this company thru our AHS Warranty for a leaky water heater replacement and they are total crooks. 50% of what they said was code work needed (obviously not covered under the warranty) was not needed. They lied about it according to my plumber buddy. Their up charge was more than a new water heater. I cancelled the American Home Shield warranty (2 hours on the phone). Both contractors that came out had no logos on their beat up vans and the ""contractors"" looked homeless.
