Comfort Doctor gives you the best option for your needs. The owner Richie is intentional with his work and approach to each clients needs. He works endless hours to provide service and quality for his clients. Thank you Comfort Doctor!

I really do not like leaving a negative review, especially for anyone running a business. I lost heat in my two story only on the downstairs and I'm working from home and it's winter. I have two thermostats so I had to work upstairs since it was mildly warmer. I called around thinking I needed to clean my vents and getting quotes. Rich was the only person who explained on the phone it could be something else, and I was hooked that I wanted to use his services and he'd call me the next week to schedule (he just got back from travel). He never called and I called and texted to get on his schedule. I sent at least 4 texts over a MONTH. I should have seen the flags when he didn't call me for four weeks while I'm freezing. He finally came out to evaluate my house and told me it was constructed weird, set up differently than normal, closed some vents, opened others, and tinkered with something and said that should do it, let me know how it works and I'll come back. After two days, something in my walls started making thinking sounds, rattling sounds, and then I lost ALL heat in my house!! I'm freezing upstairs now too! I called and texted telling him I'm really freaking out, I'm very cold, I need him to please fix it! He texted back I'll call you on Monday. HE STILL HAS NOT CALLED! This was mid February? We are into March. I called Paul's Plumbing & Heating and they were at my house in an hour, and I had heat in two hours! There was a short in my thermostats and they were replaced and serviced. They also told me my units were normal, just old and not functioning. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service, never returns calls or texts - still hasn't.

This is the first public review I've written on any business. I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I have tried to give Richard at Comfort Doctor the benefit of the doubt over several years, but feel that circumstances now require us to make the public aware of his irresponsible and dishonest dealings with clients. If you are considering using Comfort Doctor, I would advise you to RUN, not walk, in the other direction.
We spent $13,000 on a Mitsubishi mini-split system for our home in the fall of 2018. In the weeks after Richard and his team installed it, we noticed that both heat pumps were making an intermittent clicking noise. The noise in the bedroom was so bad that I had trouble sleeping at night. Richard sent a tech over to take a look at the pump. The tech knocked on the side of the pump to ""fix it,"" and pretty much dismissed our concerns. When we followed up with Richard, he said that he would file a claim with Mitsubishi. We texted and called him about this issue several times in the next few months, but did not hear back from him.
That summer, we started noticing a smell with the A/C. Because the clicking had persisted all winter, I made an appointment with Comfort Doctor to have Richard come take a look at the units again. Comfort Doctor rescheduled the first appointment, so I made another for over a month later. My husband took a day off from work to be available the day of the appointment, but Richard was a no-show. We complained, and he did come to the house a couple of days later. He said there was nothing he could do about the clicking and blamed the A/C smell on the presence of our cats (we keep a very clean house and the kitty box is in the laundry room at the other end of the house).
A month ago, both of our heat pumps started to emit steam and would drop water and ice during the night into the living room and bedroom. My husband began texting with Richard, who advised him to try various things, none of which worked. After two weeks of texting, he finally came to the house. Richard refused to wear a mask when speaking to my husband outside, saying that they gave him migraines. He asked to go on the roof, and then starting making comments about how the blocks had been moved and somebody had kicked the lines. He also said that one of the hoses had been moved off-center in an area that no one else had accessed except my husband. He then claimed that our warranty was invalid because we had not had regular 6-month inspections during months of COVID. He quoted us $849 to fix his own work, work that was not completed properly in the first place.
Throughout our dealings with Richard he has been evasive and dishonest, always looking for a loophole or excuse to blame problems on us or someone else. We won't be giving him any more of our time and money and now have made an appointment with TLC.

These guys never reply to contacts for appts for routine maintainence, and when they do, there is always an excuse why a workman doesn't show up. I've had to worst luck with them.. Rich always had an excuse why they didn't show up. The initial work they did on the compressors for the original developer required me to spend almost $3000 to repair. They used cheap materials over the valves that fed the mini splits. The birds ate the material and it had to be replaced supposedly with stronger material. We'll see if it lasts. I just called them for the required routine maintainence on the compressors and the water heater. After reading these other reviews, I think I should just use someone else to avoid being overcharged. UPDATE: I just had another company inspect the work they did and they billed me to totally insulate the cooling lines and when inspected by another HVAC group, they did not replace the insulation on the longest cooling line. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!

Comfort Doctor installed the boiler at my house in March 2016, and I've had a couple of service calls for annual maintenance from them since then. Every person that's come to my house or I've talked to in the office has been very friendly and knowledgeable. It has been perfect service every time, and it leaves me feeling worry free. Thank you!

I just spoke with Adam at Comfort Dr. to get some quotes on repairing my garbage disposal. He seemed irritated that I had detailed questions, and at one point saying ""if you'd just be patient, I'll let you know"" very rude and unnecessary. On the spectrum of mansplaining. They charge a $25 ""trip charge"" just to go to your house, even though I live in town. They have no ""hourly"" rate, just set charges. He said it was $199 to replace the disposal. I tried to get clarification, asking if it didn't need replacing, but getting something dislodged from blades, etc. would it be same charge? He dropped my call. I called back, no answer, no voicemail. I'd already made the appointment, but don't want to use them now because of the way Adam handled my questions. What if I can't reach them to cancel and they'll want to charge me for the appointment? Be wary, potential customers! Something seems fishy.

Do not use Comfort Doctor! They robbed me of $162.72. My Fujitsu mini-split air conditioner is making a constant ticking noise when the fan is on. The Comfort Doctor repair tech came and claimed that he adjusted an alleged, ""balancer."" I paid him for the visit. The problem came back as soon as he left. I called Comfort Doctor back. The same technician came back and acknowledged that it wasn't fixed; he admitted that he didn't know what the problem was. Comfort Doctor wanted to come back and work on it for two more hours. I told them that I didn't want them to experiment on my dime if they didn't know what the problem was as the repair tech stated; I asked for a refund. They refused to give me a refund, stating that the charge was for adjusting the alleged balancer, even though the ticking noise is still there. It's obvious that the alleged balancer didn't need to be adjusted if it didn't fix the problem. Don't waste your money with this company.

After calling 10 other companies, this was the only one that could send out a technician same day. The person who took my call was professional and helpful. The technician was on time, professional, and answered all my questions. He inspected the unit thoroughly. Turns out there was no fix needed as my concerns were normal for it being an old heater. I can't say how this company would be for any repairs, and yet my limited experience was positive, especially how fast they were able to send someone out.

This is the most unorganized company I have ever dealt with. I first called in June to set up an appointment to have my air conditioner looked at. No one ever called back. In July, I found out the ac/heating system needed to be replaced. I asked a friend for a recommendation and one of them was Comfort Doctor. I thought I would give it another try. I called and reached someone that said Rich would call me the following Wednesday. Wednesday came and went. Two days later, the office calls me again and apologizes that he didn't call then sets up another appointment for a call from Rich that Friday. No call again. At this point I'm pretty annoyed and decided to give up on them. The following week I get a call from Rich, who blames the lack of communication on ""new office staff"" so decide to give him another try. He says he will come out the following Tuesday. When he came out, he spent a lot of time talking about how great his customer service is, how great he is and that hes so much better than everyone else. He bad mouthed another company I had give me a quote. Which in my opinion makes him look bad as well. He said he would send me a quote in a few days. I waited eight days then sent him an email, asking about the quote to which I never received a response. If you are into having your time wasted, go no further!

Back in late 2013, our company hired The Comfort Doctors to install an AC unit. Last year, 2017, we needed a simple adjustment made to reroute the air return because it was causing a draft in the office. The return vent just needed to be moved 2 feet, to the other side of a wall. The Comfort Doctors ended up cancelling and re-scheduling the appointment 3 or 4 times. l ended up calling another HVAC contractor to do the job.
Early June of this year, our AC started to trip the breaker. l called Rich, since he had installed it. Rich came out and discovered it was a grounded compressor. The compressor is the most expensive part on the unit. Even though when we bought the unit Rich had said it was warranted for 10 years, now he was saying that Trane, the manufacturer, would not warranty the unit because ""it wasn't maintained by his company every year since we bought it."" (We were not told at the time of installation that this was required.)
Rich wanted to completely redo our system including our heating system, saying it's just going to break again if we don't. Rich tells me it's going to run anywhere between $6000 - $8000 dollars -""but we have a financing company so don't worry,"" he says. (And he told me he was giving me a big discount!!) ""Just tell the financing company ten grand. l'll have the papers for you to sign right away.""
I then asked Rich before l sign off on a $10,000 dollar loan, l'd like him to email me the breakdown on the price quote/ estimate. Rich became obtuse and said he's never had a customer ask for an estimate before getting the loan; and if l don't hurry, l won't get scheduled in. (Our company depends on a climate controlled environment, and it's getting hot). Rich said, ""l thought this was an emergency?"" - Then says, ""your estimate is easy. lt's between $6000 - $8000.00."" Rich may be a great salesman but it's clear to me that he's not very good with the science of HVAC systems.
l called and got a diagnosis from three other HVAC contractors. l told them my story and every one of them thought the $6000-8000 estimate was way over the top. One of the contractors called Trane AC company and Trane said the compressor was still under warranty and l wouldn't have to pay for the part. The estimate from the new contractor is $1500.00.
The HVAC contractors that fixed my unit said The Comfort Doctors over charged the freon when they installed my AC unit and that's why the compressor burned out.
lf you're considering using the Comfort Doctors, I hope this review has been helpful.
