Rosemary C.Although Justin and Roger went above and beyond to get a new air conditioner installed for my. Sara and Joey were incapable of providing the simple request of mailing out the documentation on the purchased unit. Instead, Joey lied about mailing it for a month. Then, Sarah called to say they wouldn't be mailing anything because they don't have any documentation on the units they sell. Not only was she rude but condescending. This results in the generous 3 stars I gave the company. How can you sell a product you don't know anything about?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - I received a quote today from Cactus Air for installing a 30 foot gas line for $5897 while other companies are quoting $1500-$2000. Although costs always vary their estimate is beyond defense and obviously seeks to take advantage of customers without construction knowledge (I have 20+ years of financial management experience at several national homebuilders and real estate developers and have a better than average understanding of the work involved in the gas line).

Our downstairs A/C unit started to make a buzzing sound when it was turning on. It was a SATURDAY! A record hot weekend was predicted.
I called an outfit named Cactus Plumbing. BIG MISTAKE! BIG EXPENSIVE MISTAKE!
They asked on the phone is a $20 service call fee was ""OK"". I said yes. They said they would have someone at the house on Sunday.
Their tech showed up and discovered a ""Capacitor"" was bad. He ""had on in the truck"" so I agreed he should replace it.
When he showed us our old Capacitor and compared it to the new one, he pointed out that the new capacitor was ""dented"" on the top rim but he did not have another one. The house was now up to 88 degrees.
He put in the new - damaged - capacitor and the A/C unit kicked on. YEA!!!
He was here for about 1 hour total.
Then he presented me with his phone so I could electronically sign for the repairs and new - damaged - capacitor.
Without any hesitation he said I was signing for a $420 bill!!!
I had NO idea what a capacitor costs and I was aware of the $20 service call fee - which he never mentioned. I was alos aware it was a Sunday service call. Based on that I signed it and just told him I thought that was rather high.
He said I would receive a DETAILED invoice from his office via my email. ""TOTAL $420.""
I emailed back and requested a DETAILED invoice for both parts and labor. NO REPLY. I emailed again. NO REPLY.
I called an left a voicemail. NO CALL BACK.
Finally, I got another invoice. NO BREAKDOWN on parts and labor, just a total.
In the meantime, I did some research on the cost of a capacitor for my A/C unit. They run about $20!!!
SO, $400 of the invoice was for about 1 hour of labor.
I responded to their email and got this...

""Please have your technician explain in writing to me how he justifies over $400 in labor costs for less than an hour of his time on the job. While he is writing please have him include why he installed a damaged - it was bent - part in my A/C unit.""
