Came home to a clogged drain at 3:30 pm New Year's Eve. Based on past history I was expecting to wait until about midnight and pay extra for a holiday weekend. Found C.Y. Sewer and Drain on Yelp and gave them a call. Chris responded with a regular flat rate and had the drain unclogged in less than an hour from the time of my call. Very pleased with the quick and efficient response. He also gave me some helpful tips for future maintenance. Highly recommended.

I came home 6pm on a WED to the kitchen counters and floor covered in water. *sigh* Just what one wants to deal with after work. So on to Yelp I went; took down a couple numbers (personally, I'm a little wary of businesses that appear ""perfect"" with lots of reviews...I tend to go for those with a moderate number of good reviews or even those with only one or two reviews that stand out to me).
C.Y. Sewer and Drain Service has/had only one review but it stood out to me (he has two with mine now). Availability, knowledgeable, honesty/fair pricing; all of these characteristics were listed in the first review and they all turned out to be true for C.Y. Sewer and Drain Service.

Availability-he answered his phone and was at my place within an hour.

Knowledgeable-he explained what was wrong, fixed it, and told me how to prevent it.

Honesty/Fair pricing-he initially quoted me higher over the phone, arrived, identified the problem, and lowered the charge immediately.

First,what's completely unusual and shocking amazing he picked up a phone on Saturday night ans arrived on time on Sunday morning. Just that one will raise his stars up to max...
Did above and beyond to find the problem and fix it. he spent all day at my house and left only after i could use bathrooms.
Price was really reasonable.
Highly recommend. Hard to find such a responsible contractor!

I needed a plumber to clean out the drains in my house, so I found C.Y. Sewer and Drain Service on Yelp. My bathtub and kitchen sink were backing up and I called them on a Saturday. Chris, the owner, answered the phone after two rings. I told him what the problem was and he confirmed that I needed a drain clean out. He gave me a good quote and said he could be at my house in 20 minutes. Low and behold he was at my house in exactly 20 minutes. Chris began work right away. He accessed the roof and cleaned every drain in the house, including the kitchen, bath and toilet. In addition, he serviced the drains with degreaser. I was so impressed that I asked him to take a look at my running toilet. He quickly found the problem and thoroughly explained what it was. He fixed the chain, replaced the fill valve, angle stop and supply line and now my toilet runs great. So I showed him the problem I was having with my kitchen sink and he tightened my faucet and pipes, and cleaned it out. Now I have better water pressure and no leaks.

Chris is very honest and he is very good at what he does. He told me what needed to be done, told me why, told me what he was going to do and did it. He explained everything he did and gave me helpful maintenance tips.

The quote he gave me was the price he charged. No surpises here. He was readily available and eager to do the job, Chris was well prepared, fast and did the job right. I was impressed and very satisfied.

If you need a real plumber with skills call Chris. He won't rip you off.

I called Chris about 10am on Saturday and he gave me a quote for a job that he thought would only take less than 30 minutes. He came over in about 90 minutes and started working with the right equipment immediately & without rest for two hours. He cleared the rooted drain and rather than suggest the entire replacement like other contractors, he suggested limited repairs which I appreciated. I was very appreciative of his problem solving ability and honesty in keeping to his original estimate despite the difficulties he encountered. I would recommend him to friends and neighbors for any similar problems.

I searched and read reviews for every plumber and sewage company in the Castro Valley area, and called C.Y. First. It will also be my last.

I don't have the time to write reviews but I do have time to promote a true craftsman.

I called the posted number (which goes straight to the owner), Chris picked up right away, knew more about my problem better than I could explain, and was out in less than an hour.

AMAZING response and expertise just over the phone.

I had no idea what to expect for the cost, after the work was done and seeing the nasty a$$ sewage mess he had to go through, I would of been seriously happy to pay for more.

If your looking for a trustworthy sewage and pluming service, this will be the last one you'll ever need. You can quote me on this.

I too had been ripped off by the people at Rescue Rooter their technicians are not knowledgeable and they try to sell you services that dont actually solve your drain problems. As Chris told me they want you to call again every couple of months snake out your pipes or sell you some extraordinarily expensive pipe replacement to get the most profit out of you.

Heres the deal, Chris is interested in doing right the first time cause he doesnt want to waste his time or yours. Chris actually charges ALOT LESS than those Rescue Rooter people or any of the national companies and has way more know-how and experience than any of those guys ever will ( I think he's been doing this for 20 years, plumbing is his trade). Chris is a local independent business owner who will work his hardest to ensure that quality work is done the first time and at more than reasonable rates.

Whatever those national chains charge Chris will probably come in ALOT less. Dont believe me? Call him yourself and ask you wont be disappointed

Chris( the owner) responded very quickly to my call for a clogged kitchen drain. Chris is courteous, professional, honest and has great equipment. He charged me a very economical flat rate. I would recommend him very very highly.

Chris was out in under an hour on a Sunday to clear a backed up sewer line. Quick and knowledgeable. He does good work and he was able to point out a few things that were our likely causes so we could change out patterns. Would use him again, no problem. Though, it would have been nice if he cleaned up a bit more.
