Recommended Customer Reviews

I was put into contact with Ray Handy Man through HD. I had a Compact dishwasher installed into a existing kitchen drawer space. Ray and assistant installed the dishwasher within 5 hours. I was satisfied with the work done and the price as quoted. Until next time...
Thanks
Ray

Update on 7/9:
If you still want to go with these folks, don't say you haven't been warned. After reading the owner's latest response below - it clearly tells you that the customer has to spell out everything for them (which shouldn't be the case) and they will figure out a way to put the blame on you when they do a crappy job. And when you try to be polite to these guys and say ""I'm sorry I didn't explicitly mention panels"".. he will use it to his advantage to say I apologized - really? Peace out!
Update on 7/6 (response to comments from Demarco):
Still 0-stars:
Demarco states that they did everything and all we need to do was just install the panels - not quite. His definition of ""installation"" seems to be quite different from the common understanding where we expect an appliance to complete and fully functional. Marco will assemble a car with no doors, instrument panel or seatbelts and will say his job is done because it starts - who cares if its usable. If you go through all the previous reviews (please go past the first 2 pages), there is a clear pattern here of DeMarco saying that customers was rude to him - the customer is always at fault. With questionable business practices such as calling ""partial assembly"" as installation, withholding information and frankly doing a shoddy job - customers are bound to get upset. Demarco had an opportunity to let us know multiple times that he did not install panels - but he chose not to. In his phone call to me, he just told me there was a gap above the fridge - he conveniently didn't mention that the brackets couldn't be secured to cabinets - yet another instance of withholding info. Buyer beware if you decide to engage with these guys. Customer obsession is not a quality you will find with these folks - he is always right and the customer should shut up and and not speak up when he clearly doesn't meet expectations.

I would give 0-stars if possible.
While these guys might be fine for straightforward installations, they just don't know to deal with Thermador built-ins. I spoke to Demarco and told him that I wanted assembly and installation of a Thermador 2-column refrigerator. He asked me for the model number and confirmed that he will be able to perform the installation for $750. At no point, did he tell me that he will not be able to install the panels - which IMO is not a complete install. More on this later.
Ray and Demarco showed up (much later than promised) and started their job. Probably one mistake (lesson learnt) was I should have been there when they showed up to ensure that they really knew what they were about to do. When my wife showed up later, they effectively told her that they are all done. They had hastily put the two columns together, shoved it in the cabinet opening (damaging my new cabinets in the process), plugged it in and said it is all working. Well, accurate in the sense that yes, the fridge powers up - but hardly usable and not secured in any shape or form (required for a built in) so a big safety hazard. They claimed that they don't install the panels but when I showed up that evening I realized that this was a pretty shoddy job and these guys had pulled a fast one on us. These guys took advantage of the fact that both my wife and I were busy and misled us with their favorable yelp reviews and it is now very evident that they had no clue whatsoever on how to put together this fridge. Clearly, my expectation of installation is not the same as Demarco's. The two columns were closely connected, not anchored or secured, not level and just shoved into a cabinet opening with electrical cables and water line shoved in the back in a haphazard way. Demarco called me and told me that my contractor was being unprofessional and rude, but I came that evening and looked at the result, I could understand why. My contractor has seen plenty of installers and their finished product and this was nowhere close.
I then had to call another installer - who spend 4 hours redoing everything and putting this back together - i.e. I had to pay over $1000 to reinstall this from scratch. Bottomline, if you have a complicated job - go with professional installers. If you want to shove an appliance into an opening and have them attach a power cord and water line - go with these guys (they are handymen effectively). And regarding the panels, it is not just about mounting the panels on the front of the refrigerator, it is about ensuring that the columns are compact, level, well-adjusted, hinge not hitting the cabinet, adjusting the clearance at the top and installing a filler piece for securing the fridge etc (none of which was done by these guys).
I have been in communication with Demarco about a refund but he claims that he did his job correctly. Looks like I will be seeing them in small claims court.

I found Ray Handy Man through Home Depot Pro Services. At first he was very communicative and arrived to the job on time. He agreed to move, install my downdraft range and fix the garbage disposal for $250. He switched the range power line from 220v to 110v, installed the range with his own parts and fixed the garbage disposal. Then he demanded $50 more because of hard labor and the parts. So I paid. He told me that it's perfectly fine to leave the vent pipe like this (without extend to outside of the house completely) and ask me to go buy a hood cover on my own and install it. I don't really know anything about construction and installation but this just doesn't seem right. I then showed these photos to Home Depot managers. All of them agreed with me that the project is not completed. Ray states that he will come back to fix it and to install rest of parts. It's been 3 weeks and he has cancelled our appointment couple times. I just can't put up with this anymore and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

They installed a stove hood vent. They were fast and efficient. Good job!! Will definitely hire them for additional work.

DeMarco did an excellent job installing a oven/microwave combination. He was fast, neat, professional, and did quality work. We highly recommend this company.

Ray is an amazing guy. We love his work ethic, commitment and dedication towards his work. He and his son are a great team. They are always ready to fix the toughest job. Anything that is impossible for other guys is possible for Ray.

Needed to replace my drop in range with a slide in and considered doing it my self but felt it could be more involved than a simple Saturday afternoon project. Initially just wanted them to prep the site for the new range but Ray suggested he do the install so he could make sure it got installed properly. Good thing I went with his suggestion because there were quite a number of modifications required including cabinet changes, tile cutting, new electrical, sub floor work etc. He had to check the new ranges actual measurements several times to get everything right. Ray and his son Demarco did a fantastic job, were very clean working and very professional. I am really happy with the results with what was obviously no simple job. I would highly recommend C&M. I am sure I will use them again should I need anything similar or other advanced handyman services. BTW very competitive pricing.

We got our over the range Microwave replaced by them. Ray and Demarco came within the given time window and quickly finished the job. They were very professional and cleanly did their job.
Their service fee matches with that of Home Depot, of course if you include the shipping cost as well. We also got the next day appointment from them, where as Home Depot and Lowes had the first appointment available after 5 days.
Will love to use their service again in future.

Initially seemed like nice people. I really tried to understand their viewpoint, but when someone gives you a quote and you go with them because of their quote, they aren't supposed to change it after the fact, particularly after you've asked them a number of times before you select them about what they are agreeing to (very specifically) so there aren't any misunderstandings later. On top of that, they said they would correct the situation, cashed my check and waited for it to be deposited, then didn't fix the problem (I trusted them) and continued to ask for more money on a job that they only spent about 1/2-1 hour to do ($280.00 including takeaway) that they didn't do right. I really think they overcharged me for this job and on top of that they kept trying to force me to pay even more money. Perhaps it was a communication problem but I felt ""played."" They also stood me up for scheduled times about four times, stressing me out and my tenants, not to mention wasted time getting ready for their arrival. They seemed like they wanted to be ""RIGHT"" and in my opinion...really are messing up on the public relations front. This company needs to do what they promised, improve their communication, and be more professional.

This week I had C&M remove and install a built-in fridge. I was a bit frustrated because I had to wait to get on their schedule, but they explained to me that they wanted to set aside enough time as to not rush through the job. Once on-site they were thoughtful, organized, and did a perfect job of removing on old built-in, and installing a new one; in tight conditions without damaging our cabinets, or flooring. They came on time and were great at communicating.
