In 1906, Carl Joseph ""Joe"" Erickson arrived in America from Sweden and made Chicago his home.

An accomplished plumber, Joe signed with Plumbers Local 130 and launched his own shop at 58th and Halsted.

C.J. Erickson Plumbing quickly gained a strong reputation.

In just a few years, Joe's commitment to high-quality work, professional service, and reasonable rates fueled rapid expansion.

The company moved to a larger headquarters on 87th Street, just east of Ashland Avenue, in 1946 due to its growth.

Following World War II, Norm, Joe's son, became part of the business after serving in the military.

C.J. Erickson Plumbing relocated to its present headquarters in Alsip, IL, in 1975.

During the 80s and 90s, the business was led by Bill Erickson, Norm's son and the third generation.

In 2007, Matt Erickson, representing the fourth generation, took over as CEO.

CJ Erickson Plumbing charged us 3 times more than any other companies for water pressure. I never go back to them and don't recommend them to anyone. they are rip off. Awfully expensive! Try your small local plumber instead.

My basement flooded a couple of times in a row. I called CJ Erickson to help find out what the issue was. They sent someone to check the problem and decide on what needs to be done. When the person came, he found me in a vulnerable situation and told me the only way to open the clogged sewage pipe was to clean out the catch basin and to put water pressure through the pipes and open them, and he told me that the cost would be $1400. Not knowing who else to call to fix the issue that day, I agreed. The person left and said that their crew will come to do the job. Sometime after 3:00 pm a couple of people showed up with a truck. They spend a little less than half hour to suck out the water in the catch basin and to pass a hose through the pipes and they left in no time. The blockage was opened as the result, only to be flooded the next time it rained.
I contacted a plumber through a friend of mine, who found the issue with the blockage and installed an ejector pump and back-flow blocker at half the amount that CJ Erickson charged.
I have asked many people, and all agree that charging 1400 for half hour work to empty out a catch basin and to jet pressure the pipes is outrageous. Specially since the issue was not resolved.
I think I was taken advantage of by CJ Erickson and therefore would advise no one to use their service. There are so many other small companies whose focus is customer satisfaction, rather than self interest.

Great work, honest, helpful, would reccomend highly!
I had some complicated copper pipe to sweat so I called these guys to finish it up. The guys were very honest and knowledgeable. They did great work for a reasonable price. Their showroom on cicero is great because you can test out the product before you buy. Great guys and I would highly reccomend them for your next plumbing job.

My senior citizen mother contacted these people to do some work in her dilapidated house. They negotiated a new vanity and fixing a toilet. She gave them a check for a deposit towards the vanity. She later decided against it, and I informed her that usually deposits are nonrefundable, she would have to go through with it. On Monday she spoke to someone there who agreed to give her the deposit back and do anything she needed done. Great people to do business with.
