Theses guys cold called my mothers house, knew her name and street , was extremely rude, offensive so I hung up on him. He called back and called me a c*nt!!! I told him where to go and hung up again. He called back again! At this point I gave the phone to my boyfriend. There was no one there. His number now goes straight to vm and the mailbox is full. Will get to the bottom of this.

I receive unsolicited telemarketing calls from this business multiple times a week. Before finally blocking their number, I asked them to remove me from their list and reminded them that I am on the Do Not Call list. They don't seem to care, as their number still shows on my blocked list that they continue to call me. I would never do business with a company that is this unethical.

I also got one of their scam calls. Incredibly rude. I am on a Do Not Call list, and I told him this was illegal to make this call. This is not a trustworthy company.

Someone just called my 80 year old mothers house asking if she wanted a quote for home remodeling. After she kindly told them ""no thank you, we're ok"", they responded with ""fuck you"" and hung up.

Sitting just 10 feet away from her I called back and it went straight to a voicemail box that was full. So I did a phone number search for 408-829-6998 and it led me here.

Reading Susan R's review from 4/22/17, it sounds like this is common practice for this business.

Very classy and professional

I decided to go with C & H because they offered the lowest quote compared to 2 other companies. I regret that I did, as I learned my lesson of ""you get what you paid for."" I explained to them what I wanted in the job, and when it was finished, I noticed it was not how I explained it, so they had to come back to fix it. The quality and materials of their work was very poor, and in fact, 3 months after the job was complete, the material is broken and in need of repair. But I would rather pay someone else to repair it than have them come back for free to fix it. Initially, I had another job for them to do, but decided not to go with them based on how the first job went poorly. Poor customer service--didn't show up when we had a scheduled meeting. Called them to ask why, but only got a voicemail. They never returned my call. Company really lacks professionalism.

My family just returned to the Bay Area after some years in the wilderness (well, the East Coast). Real estate costs being what they are, rather than trying to get something equivalent in size etc. to what we had out East, we opted to 'settle' for a smaller house in Mountain View but to do some remodeling to make it more comfortable.

Our agent suggested Jeff's outfit. I did see the negative reviews (the ones citing unresponsiveness, another his ill-fated referral of another firm), but I figured unresponsiveness wouldn't cost me anything and that I wasn't obligated to take any referrals he might offer, plus our (very experienced) agent was highly complimentary of his work, so I called him. He met me at the house, listened to my ideas, and offered some good ones of his own. I fancy myself to be pretty savvy about construction and am generally disinclined to take anyone's expertise on faith, but it was clear to me that Jeff knew his way around. Anyway he sent us an itemized estimate that was very competitive on price, so we signed him on. The work included skylight installation in our kitchen, a complete bathroom remodel, placement of double doors in our living room entryway, and installation of two ceiling fan mounts and a variety of recessed lighting cans throughout the house.

I was impressed quickly when Jeff asked if we wanted the work to be done under a permit. As a naive, law-abiding sort (I subsequently learned that just about everyone in the area seems to do remodeling work outside the prying eyes of the law) I said yes. This turned out to be a pain - there were multiple inspections, and each time the inspector turned up something new, not germane to the current job, to pick on - but Jeff handled all of this efficiently and without complaint.

As for the work itself, it was *great*. Our bathroom redesign included slate tile floors and partially tiled walls, and the quality of this work was impeccable. The tile surfaces are perfectly on plane and the grouting is extremely neat. Our skylight tunnel is precisely square, and Jeff's crew was able to match the stucco-like texture of the existing sheetrock finish of the ceiling beautifully. Other little details were also really well done - the switch boxes for the lights and fans are level, the recessed lights are aligned properly, the wiring is very neat. I've seen enough tilted switch plates to appreciate when these small details are done right.

All of this was done promptly even with the headaches related to the city inspections that didn't reflect on the work Jeff's crew did. In fact, the inspector, evidently in a nitpicky mood, required us to replace the breakers in our fuse box, and Jeff not only did this work for us at no charge, he even comped us the cost of the parts.

I can see why some might think Jeff isn't the best businessman around - he's not hard-nosed and he doesn't seem to be much of a self-promoter. Still, his crew does top-notch work and his rates are very, very reasonable. I would not hesitate to have him work on our house again. In fact I expect to give him a call someday when I decide it's time to open up our kitchen floor plan and update our master bath....

THE BIGGEST SCAMMER OUT THERE! BEWARE!

So exactly 1 year ago our house got on fire and we needed to find a contractor to rebuild the house. I found Jeff and his company, C & H construction, on yelp and based on his review we gave him a call. He came, did the estimate, made a contract, and suddenly said he could not take the job and referred us to one of his other ""best"" contractor AN DANG. After hours of researching we finally decided to go with Jeff but since he can't take the case we decided to trust him to go along with his referred contractor. One year later, our house is left unfinished and the contractor decided that he doesn't want to continue with the project after taking almost 95% of all the fee. To top it all off, he is not even a licensed contractor and his so call company is non-existent. To take advantage of people when they are at their worst is the lowest act one can do. I will seek legal action so that dishonest men like him can go out of business and appropriate legal actions will be taken. We invested our life-saving to repair the house and now it's furious to know we are in a bigger disaster after working with this contractor to ""rebuild"" our home. We are losing money and currently still homeless thanks to this wonderful contractor. We are just really disappointing that Jeff referred us to someone who is unethical and irresponsible like him. Jeff got commission for referring the unlicensed contractor..what the hell? that should tell you what kind of work ethnic he has if he knowingly refer you to an unlicensed contractor. Also, Jeff DOES NOT HAVE ACTIVE LICENSE AS IT IS EXPIRED on the Contractor State License Board! BEWARE CONSUMERS! DO NOT SPEND A PENNY FOR HIS WORK!

ONE ADVICE FOR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR AN CONTRACTOR!! AVOID THE NAME AN DANG. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND ONLY WORK WITH CONTRACTOR WITH LEGITIMATE LICENSE.

I don't understand how a business can stay in business when they don't return phone calls or emails. I picked this business because of the very picky lady on this site.

I called Jeff. He used his GPS to find my house and ended up one street over. That's a conversion for another day. He finally decided to go old school and look at the street signs. He found my house. Looked at my project . We chatted a little bit about future projects then he left. So far so good. 3 days later I received an estimate with just the price. Awesome price compared to the other 11 contractors I contacted.

Nothing was itemized. So I decided to send him an itemized version of what we talked about. No response for a 1 week. I called him again. He apologized and said he owes me one and he will get back to me. Well....it's been 3 weeks. I agree with 'KELLY Q"" I don't get it. Nice guy. Bad at business. I guess it's better to be stood up with no money exchanging hands then to have a big hole in my wall waiting for someone to come and fix it. Look elsewhere for another contractor. Don't waste your time.

I call C&H construction to give me an estimate on remodeling my kitchen and bathrooms. They came and do the measurements and said that they will email me the estimate in 2-3 days. I called on the third day to get an update on the estimate and they said that they would have it ready by 5PM. The day went by and no estimate received and no phone call. Very poor service.
