I wish I had read the many negative reviews here before calling Byron's. We asked them to disconnect current kitchen sink, disposal and dishwasher in preparation for new at our vacation home. When we visited after, we noticed a large amount of water sitting in the bottom of the sink cabinet. It had badly warped the cabinet bottom and mildew was growing. When I mentioned this to the scheduler (I took pains to be pleasant about it) and asked for repair, she was very defensive, finally saying the owner would have to call. When he did, he was belligerent, defensive, and accusatory of anyone but his crew. My husband was so agitated he drove the 2.5 hours down to take photos to send to Mr. Byron. We heard nothing back, and finally told him to close our account. We showed the photos to a licensed plumber who told us Byron's had not capped our pipe and that was the source of the water. Byron's did nothing to rectify the situation and showed no urgency to supply good customer service. Would NEVER recommend them.

Disappointed to say the least. I called them to service my boiler last November. They were prompt in responding to my cry for help and I was pleasantly surprised when they quickly assessed the problem, told my handyman how to make the easy repair and told him there wouldn't be any charge. I figured that finally I had found a good company to work with for future problems and planned on referring them to friends. Well, 7 months later I get a phone call and then a bill for $130.00 for the service call. I'll pay the bill but won't call again...

Simply put, Byron Plumbing significantly over charges for their work. Do not use them. I was referred by my regular plumber and talk about ""sticker shock"" I nearly fell over when I received a $500 bill for what should have been closer to $250.

Cost of materials way about what even the retail cost on Amazon would have been!! Cost of labor ridiculous: said it was a ""2 man job"" baloney. The other guy stood there and gabbed with me and then put in 4 screws.

Yipes is all I can say...or maybe all I can do is YELP!!!

The purpose of this review is that we wanted everyone to be forewarned concerning a problem we had with a local plumber (Byron's). Basically, we replaced our dishwasher and when the installation/delivery team came to hook up this appliance, they did not have the correct fitting to make the connection. A friend, who allowed access to our unit and supervised the job, then called Byron's Plumbing and Heating to finish the job. The bottom line is they unhooked the old dishwasher, installed the correct fittings (PVC pipe with two hose clamps), then attached the new unit. Since our friend was still supervising the job, he noted that they were there between forty minutes and less than 1 hour. It should be noted that they left the old dishwasher in the unit and did not have to transport the new one upstairs.

The total bill came to over $300. When our friend questioned this amount, the owner started backing into this figure to try to justify the charges to include travel time, emergency service fee, and the kicker, he stated 61 minutes, so he rounded up to 1.5 hours. We were not informed of travel time since his trucks service this area, the per hour rate is about $120 per hour, not the inflated $175 and this was not an emergency situation. His office had given these plumbers the wrong phone number to call and as a result, the plumbers waited downstairs for over 20 minutes until our friend arrived. If not for our friends due diligence in calling the office (he was concerned that they had not shown up when they were expected), was the wait time kept to a minimum.

It was obvious to us that Mr. Byron was taking advantage of the situation and tried to recoup the costs of his office's mistake. I called him to discuss this billing last week and he told me he would return the call as soon as he pulled up the invoice. Still waiting. We know that mistakes are made and we wanted to give him the opportunity to redo his calculations prior to us pursing this matter any further, however, it appears he has no desire to speak to us concerning this billing.

Not wanting to sound too condescending, the extra $150 will not change my lifestyle but the fact we were taken advantage of is to say the least, bad business. We have no desire to cause harm to this man's business, but in the same respect, we wonder how many others have been overbilled and did not raise any concerns. With social media, Yelp, and other outlets, he will need to be more cognizant of negative marketing practices.

Very disappointed and won't be using this company in the future. We called in April and had them go to our condo in North Wildwood to give us a price on replacing our hot water heater, hoses in washer and hook up ice maker. We were called and told that the estimate was nearly $1900 for all. I asked for a breakdown and was told the hot water heater cost was $1495 because it is a forced air hot water heater. The rest of the estimate were for the ice maker and washer hoses. This is all written down.

In June we were down and decided to get just the hot water heater replaced and to have them check the AC. Byron Jr came out and said they could replace it and check the AC the same day at the end of the week. They replaced it and checked the AC.

I received my invoice today for $1968.00. I cannot imagine they charged me $450 to check the AC so I called.

Byron tells me I must have misheard the quote. No I wrote it down and explain that it was the quote from April. He tells me quotes are only good 30 days and that we are on the third floor and they had to move the dryer. News Flash. We were on the same floor Six weeks prior when originally quoted. Not good business. Not using this company again and not referring them. We never would have agreed to paying $1700 or $1800 for a hot water heater.
