My water heater had to be replaced and James came out quickly and replaced it. I wouldn't use any other plumber. I trust and really like James. If you have any plumbing problem call By The Book Plumbing and you will be glad that you did. He has done all kinds of plumbing work for me and my parents. Like I said, I wouldn't use anyone else. It is so nice to have someone I trust!

James has always come to my rescue! This time I had an outside leak and he was able to come within a couple of hours. He fixed the leak and was on his way to his next call. He is VERY knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend his services for ANY plumbing problems that may occur (including replacing a water heater!).

James was not only incredible professional and kind, but came to my house in an "emergency" situation within a few hours having never worked with us before. Our sewer line had backed up into our showers, and my husband was out of town, and I was home with my mother-in-law and our three week old baby. James came to the house and spent THREE HOURS trying to figure out the cause of the problem, including probing the lines and removing a toilet, only to find the problem was on the city's end.

Even after investing all that time and energy when he could have been elsewhere, he ended up not charging us a cent because he couldn't fix the problem, and we were going to have to get the city out. AMAZING service. I will never call another plumber again!

We also have old galvanized piping in our home, and he referred us to repiping specialists who are replacing those at a bargain price.

I called By The Book Plumbing based on recommendations from neighbors. I had called other plumbers only to be told appointments were weeks out. James (owner) was able to make an appointment within 2 days! The guys were professional and I'm happy with the work. I'm definitely using them again, good customer service is getting harder to find these days.

I highly recommend James as your plumber. He was great at communicating, came on-time, and was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He inspected our problem at no cost and did some troubleshooting. Unfortunately due to the space constraints and live wires we found, James recommended an electrician and a different plumber to do the work due to special tooling required. I REALLY appreciated his honesty and hard work. James provided a long detailed list of the issue, recommendations for a plumber/electrician, and a thorough explanation of the repairs needed. James is honest, hard working, and an expert at what he does. I will be calling him again in the future!

I have a home warranty plan and I filed a claim on my tank water heater. Home warranty will only replace the tank with another tank. I did not like the company that Home warranty contracted. I was considering going tankless. I was referred to By The Book Plumbing. James arrived timely and was very detailed, informative, patient, and courteous (he put shoe covers on).

Switching to tankless is way more complicated than I had thought. James was the only plumber to suggest installation of tankless on the outside as an option. None of the other plumbers mentioned it. He explained the pros and cons of tankless and gave me lots of information for me to make a better decision.

Whether I will switch to tankless or not, I will definitely keep this company in mind for future plumbing needs.
