Stay away! Called to get two simple washing machine shut-off valves replaced. Sent a picture of valves day before. Next day guy shows up 2 to 3 hours late (7 p.m. ) and says he can do it tomorrow...simple job. Next day wife calls and says he's too busy will come next day. And then....next day...wife calls again and says wall has to be cut out for new valves since he couldn't find a match. When I text the wife how easy it was to find replacement valves (on line at Lowes) I get some lame response about need to match valves and their stellar reputation. Total waste of my time.

We have been using Button Plumbing for well over 15 years, both at our previous home, our current home, and family member's home as well. I have have had Hot water heaters replaced (both gas and electric), furnace service (very first service call I believe along with replacing electric hot water heater with gas model). Tub insert and shower valve assembly replacement. We have had toilets replaced, another constantly running toilet valve replaced, and a utility sinks installed at the two different homes. Every time we have had fantastic service from Jim or another plumber (mostly have had Jim at our jobs). Carole is fantastic at scheduling and invoicing and is super friendly and helpful with all aspects of quoting the job to dispatching the service technician. With a smaller company and smaller staff while I could see some delays in scheduling (availability) we have never had an issue or extended wait. The most recent job we had a hot water fail at a family members.. We called Carole (after hours) and left a message and still received a call back that same evening. They fit Jim in the very next day, later in the afternoon, and we had a fully replace hot water heater in less than 24 hours from when we contacted them. Their prices are always competitive and inline, often less than DIY jobs for parts had I gone to the big-box store, and the labor fees are well worth the price vs. time as quality is second to none. I just called to schedule hot water replacement at my current house, and have it scheduled this coming week (9 days from now) as that worked with my schedule. If I were under duress, I am confident I could have it done sooner. I highly recommend Button Plumbing and will recommend them to my friends, family members, and even other anonymous members of the Yelp community.

TLDR: Hired Button Plumbing for a bathtub replacement and they failed to communicate about the progress and completion, damaged my bathroom walls and support beams, and left me to re-set the toilet and tub faucet after they promised to do so but failed to show up. Do not hire Button Plumbing for any job--big or small. They will botch the big jobs and not show up for small jobs.

I hired Button Plumbing to replace a bathtub in my house (that I rent out) after a crack had formed in the existing tub. I was initially pleased with the responsiveness and timing of communications, but this is far overshadowed by the poor workmanship and subsequent lack of communication. Button Plumbing provided a bid to me based upon me having the bottom level of tile removed around the tub, which was both to reduce their costs and to ensure the remaining (unremoved) tile was preserved without damage.

I hired a contractor to remove the tile and provided pictures to Button Plumbing to confirm the same. My contractor was extremely careful in removing the tile and preserving the cement backerboard so that new tile could be placed once the old tub was removed and the new tub was set (see pictures).

Button Plumbing began work for what was expected to be a full one-day job. I was notified that evening that the drain on the new tub was difficult to connect so they would have to go back to cut a hole in the ceiling of my garage for access. This was my first disturbing update but my garage has an unfinished ceiling so I was not too concerned about this additional work or the cutting into the ceiling.

Without further contact from Button Plumbing, my tenant asked me a week later when the toilet would be re-set in the bathroom and if they were responsible for debris (scraps of insulation and drywall) left by Button Plumbing. I was appalled by this question because I was not aware the toilet had been removed and would not have expected debris to be left on site. I called Button Plumbing and was told by Carol she would have Jim come set the toilet that evening.

Button Plumbing claimed the toilet was not set because they thought it would make things easier for my contractor to lay new tile; however, Button Plumbing had not confirmed the work was ""done"" in the first place and I had never communicated to them the tile would be completed immediately thereafter. Despite being told Jim would be out to replace the toilet that evening, Jim never arrived to set the toilet. My tenant followed up with Button Plumbing and confirmed someone would now be out the next day in the ""late afternoon"". Someone arrived at 2pm; however, my tenant was not home since it was not ""late afternoon"". My tenant subsequently left work early to meet with someone at 4pm but nobody showed up. Ultimately, my tenant purchased materials and set the toilet because of the lack of communication and follow-through from Button Plumbing.

I thereafter brought in my contractor for the installation of the new tile and he notified me the bathtub was unlevel, unset, and there was significant damage to the wall and support beams around the bathtub (entirely different than he had left it--see pictures). I called Button Plumbing and Carol told me they would get Jim out there to take care of it. Jim then called me to complain about the job and tell me how he shouldn't have taken it in the first place (note: Button Plumbing inspected the job ahead of time). He then said he would likely have to cut through the drywall in my hallway to secure and level the tub. I expressed my concern about paying nearly $4,000 to have a tub incorrectly replaced and how it was inconceivable he would now have to cut through my hallway (doing more damage) to fix his work. Jim argued there was no way I paid nearly $4,000, but I assured him I had made the payment only days prior. He then proceeded to tell me the job shouldn't cost that much and he would take care of it.

The tub was secured and leveled two days later, and fortunately Jim did not have to cut through my hallway wall. However, when I contacted Carol about the total costs and Jim's comment to take care of it, she disregarded this and said Jim did not factor in the cost of the tub itself.

The new tile was then installed by my contractor but he was unable to re-attach the faucet because of the extension to the copper pipe that had been placed when the new tub was installed. I called Button Plumbing for the faucet to be installed and Carol asked for my tenant's phone number (which they previously had been provided) to coordinate when they could take care of the faucet. Nine days later this was still not completed and my tenant purchased what was necessary to take care of the faucet.

In the end, I paid nearly $4,000 to Button Plumbing for a headache that required my tenant to replace fixtures after Button Plumbing failed to show up, and another $2,400 paid to my contractor--much of which was to repair the damage caused by Button Plumbing.

Very disappointed in the company. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I tried back to connect in 2016, so I thought I'd give another shot. This time was worse. We had a hard time getting a date together, but he did come by and said the problem was with the regulator value and that he'd find the part and he would get back to us. Never heard back, I called and finally got a time for him to come out last Friday 4-5PM. No show, so I called the office. They said he's in transit. Still never showed. He left me a voice mail at 9PM and said he'd call back. I tried calling back on Saturday, but they never called back.

He may do good work, but the no-show is unacceptable.

Can't ask for a better residential plumber. I've use Button several times over the years and couldn't be happier with the quality of their work or their pricing. They're a small family owned shop who do things the right way. You may have to wait a day or two longer than the big name ""ripoff"" shops but they are worth it.

Carol is really responsive via text or phone. She manages Mr. Button's schedule and he comes out. The assignment is backlogged and takes 2-3 weeks. We got a water heater installed (50 gallon). It was tilted but they came back to adjust it on the stand. Friendly man with many years of experience under his belt. He has an apprentice who helps him with the heavy lifting aspects. The cost was middle of the road, slightly on the higher end but we appreciated the immediate explanation of things and willingness to answer our calls anytime during the day/night. It was about $1500/installing a new water heater that was U.S.A made.

Mr. Button arrived on time and got right to the task of fixing the leaking drain in my kitchen sink. He was pleasant to work with, and did everything that needed to be done. The price was reasonable, and his office staff were pleasant to work with too.
After reading some of the Yelp reviews of local plumbing companies, I was reluctant to hire anyone for this repair. However, Button Plumbing is efficient and fair, and I'd recommend Button over the companies who spend lots of money on TV advertising.

Button Plumbing did a great job for our Bellevue HOA in replacing 3 Hose Bibs and removing a temporary water hookup. They do their work on an hourly basis which can save you money with many jobs Mr. Button has an easy going manner and got along with the HOA owners involved in the project . This is a highly desirable skill as many managers and Board members know! My experience is that they are booked weeks in advance. So you must plan ahead. I I can't recommend them enough!
